Alchymist`s Cat and Deptford Mice - by Robin Jarvis

From the books of Robin Jarvis, The Alchymist`s Cat and The Deptford Mice.:

It is the winter of 1664 and young Will Godwin, an alchymist's assistant, chances upon a mother cat and her three new-born kittens in a London churchyard. Taking pity on the freezing family, Will carries them back to his master's apothecary shop. And there, among the bubbling bottles and evil-smelling jars in Dr. Spittle's laboratory, unfolds an extraordinary tale of sorcery, disease, villainy and murder. - Robin Jarvis

Tyrannosaurus Rex - by Ozaki - O Rei Dos Dinossauros

Photobucket

PhotobucketTyrannosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning "king" in Latin), commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is a fixture in popular culture. It lived throughout what is now western North America, with a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period, 67 to 65.5 million years ago. It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist prior to the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event.
Like other tyrannosaurids, Tyrannosaurus was a bipedal carnivore with a massive skull balanced by a long, heavy tail. Relative to the large and powerful hindlimbs, Tyrannosaurus forelimbs were small, though unusually powerful for their size, and bore two clawed digits. Although other theropods rivaled or exceeded Tyrannosaurus rex in size, it was the largest known tyrannosaurid and one of the largest known land predators, measuring up to 12.8 m (42 ft) in length,up to 4 metres (13 ft) tall at the hips, and up to 6.8 metric tons (7.5 short tons) in weight.By far the largest carnivore in its environment, Tyrannosaurus rex may have been an apex predator, preying upon hadrosaurs and ceratopsians, although some experts have suggested it was primarily a scavenger. The debate over Tyrannosaurus as apex predator or scavenger is among the longest running in paleontology. - Wikipedia

Artistic Interpretation
- Wikipedia

The Real Thing
The Goodyear Blimp is the collective name for a fleet of blimps operated by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for advertising purposes and for use as a television camera platform for aerial views of sporting events. Goodyear began producing airship envelopes in 1911 and introduced its own blimp, The Pilgrim, in 1925.
The blimps are filled with helium. The helium is maintained under low pressure, so small punctures do not pose serious consequences for the blimp. In fact, one inspection element of the blimps is to look into the envelope for pinpoints of light which are indicative of small holes. The blimps have infrequently been hit by small-arms fire from the ground.[citation needed] Also, birds can hit blimps and make small beak holes. These incidents have not resulted in any serious consequences to the blimp or its crew.
The Goodyear blimps are non-rigid (meaning their shape is not maintained by a rigid internal structure) dirigibles (directable/steerable airships). However, the term dirigible is seldom used in connection with blimps, being associated more with the great rigid airships of the past. Inside their exterior envelope, the Goodyear blimps are equipped with gas bladders. As the blimp ascends or descends, the internal bladders expand or contract to compensate for density changes and to maintain uniform pressure in the envelope. - Wikipedia

I want to finish this house this week and put to download, so I will focus in the Halloween project. I need to do more some elements to improve the scene, like a trash can, some vegetation behind the house, maybe a red brick wall in background, etc...
Suggestions are welcome
and really appreciated!

Paper Model History - A Paper Model From 1529 - via Tektonten

Tektonten says: - The oldest paper model template I have come across is this one created in 1529:

Photobucket

In the archives of the Germanic Museum in Nuremberg there is a Renaissance wood engraving that is thought to be the earliest paper model template ever created. The engraving was produced around 1529 by Georg Hartmann (1489 - 1564), a mathematician and designer of scientific instruments. - Tektonten

Lindesnes Lighthouse In Norway - by Bildrum - Farol Norueguês

Photobucket

Photobucket
The Real Thing

This is a model of the Lindesnes lighthouse on the southern cape of the Norwegian main land. The Lindesnes lighthouse site is now a living museum and culture center with around 80.000 visitors every year.
The first official lighthouse on the Norwegian coast was installed here in 1656 but was soon closed. A new light service was started in 1725 and improved from time to time. A coal fire in glass lantern was erected in 1822. The coal fire was in 1854 changed for a lens apparatus, which in 1915 was moved to the newly built and still working cast iron tower.
The Lindesnes lighthouse museum was founded in 1992 and the lighthouse site listed as a monument in 1993. The lighthouse was officially automated in 2003, but as an official help to the museum, the Norwegian Coast Office still pays for two light house keepers as parts of the museums staff. - Bildrum

The Lighthouse - at night
