Niederkassel Dice Tower Paper Model For Wargames - by Kallboys

The talented team from German website Kallboys created this medieval dice tower that I'm sure will please the board game crowd. 

They said: - "Whether it is a board game or pen and paper role-playing, the Niederkassel dice tower not only adorns every playing field, but also makes the game honest and fair. 

The idea of the tower data dates back to ancient times. The Kallboys simply took them and decorated them with elements from the city of Niederkassel. 

Even in the past, people did not trust other players when playing dice. Especially when the game involved money or even a house or land. To prevent cheating by experienced dice throwers or cheaters, a dice tower was used. 

The model contains 31 pieces and is not scaled."

Spanish Castle - A Vintage Miniature Paper Model - by Ediciones Boga

I was looking online for information about Editociones Boga, the company responsible for publishing this papercraft of a miniature castle when, after searching a lot and finding almost no relevant information, I ended up coming across the official website of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Spain, where I learned that this model was published between 1961 and 1970, when the publisher launched a series on the market entitled "Construcciones Recortables Boga". 

There I also learned a little about the history of papercraft in Spain by reading the text that I reproduce below:

"Cut-outs are toys made of sheets of paper or cardboard, with figures to be cut out and assembled, and with very varied themes: dolls, soldiers, buildings, theaters, and even religious themes. 

Like practically all toys, they arrived in Spain from Europe, through France. 

Its origin is in the plates with rows of soldiers that appear in Catalonia at the end of the 18th century. 

But it was not until the middle of the 19th century that they became a children's entertainment and toy, reaching great development in the first half of the 20th century."

Eu procurava na internet informações sobre a Ediciones Boga, a companhia responsável pela publicação deste papercraft de um castelo em miniatura quando, depois de procurar bastante e não encontrar quase nenhuma informação relevante, acabei me deparando com o site oficial do Ministério da Cultura e do Esporte do Governo da Espanha, onde fiquei sabendo que este modelo foi publicado entre os anos de 1961 até 1970, data em qua a editora lançou no mercado uma série entitulada "Construcciones Recortables Boga". 

Lá também fiquei sabendo um pouco sobre a história do papercraft na Espanha lendo o texto que abaixo reproduzo: 

"Os recortáveis são brinquedos feitos de folhas de papel ou papelão, com figuras para serem recortadas e montadas, e com temáticas muito variadas: bonecos, soldados, prédios, teatros e até temas religiosos. 

Como praticamente todos os brinquedos, chegaram à Espanha vindos da Europa, passando pela França. 

A sua origem está nas placas com filas de soldados que aparecem na Catalunha no final do século XVIII. 

Mas só em meados do século XIX é que se tornaram entretenimento e brinquedo infantil, atingindo grande desenvolvimento na primeira metade do século XX."

A Papercraft Castle Created With Blender 3D - by Joel Hageman

Joel Hageman is a 2D designer and animator and the creator of this beautiful paper model of a medieval castle. 

About the process of creating this papercraft, Mr. Hageman said: - "The Blender 3D modeling program now has a papercraft export function that creates unfolded pdf patterns to cut, refold and paste as the original Blender 3D object. 

I've been wanting to make paper models from 3D files for a while, and it seemed like about time I tried this out. It's a castle. Pretty basic. First time I've used this feature in Blender, so I wanted to keep it pretty simple, at least in terms of shapes. 

Still took a heck of a learning curve, though. Some or other snag to solve at every few steps in the process."

A Fantasy House Papercraft For Wargames And Dioramas A Work In Progress - Download This Week!

Something I've been working on lately. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I believe it will be available for download by the weekend. 

I drew directly in Sketchup, a very raw model, with straight lines, of a medieval-style house. A tavern, perhaps? 

I still don't know if I'll make the textures or leave it just like that, a base model, suitable for working with various materials, for scratchbuild. 

I imagine wargame folks will enjoy using this model as a base, changing the scale, and using cardboard, wood, styrofoam, and different paints to create something totally new.

Algo em que tenho trabalhado ultimamente. Salvo algum imprevisto, creio que até o final de semana já estará disponível para download. 

Eu desenhei direto no Sketchup, um modelo bem crú, de linhas retas, de uma casa em estilo medieval. Uma taverna, talvez? 

Ainda não sei se farei as texturas ou deixarei asssim mesmo, um modelo base, próprio para ser trabalhado com vários materias, para scratchbuild. 

Imagino que o pessoal do wargame irão apreciar usar esse modelo como base, mudar a escala e usar papelão, madeira, isopor e tintas diversas para criar algo totalmente novo.
