The Dirty Garage Miniature Paper Model In HO Scale by Gomanvongo - via Hobby Talk

Today I saw that this papercraft of a workshop/garage, "Dirty Garage", originally published in May 2012, was in the blog's monthly Top Ten. 

Obviously, after more than ten years, I no longer remembered this post and decided to visit the link. 

The address led to Hobby Talk, a forum for "diecast collectors, modelers and enthusiasts of slotcars and radio control cars", but unfortunately this forum no longer exists. 

Thanks to the Wayback Machine, I was able to access the forum, but the templates available there were in very low resolution. 

I solved this problem by passing the templates through an online image editor that uses artificial intelligence called Fotor (fotor.com). 

The result was quite reasonable considering the poor original resolution of the templates. 

Then, as there were no images available of the finished model, I decided to assemble it in 3D, using Sketchup. 

You can see the result in the images that illustrate this post. This papercraft is actually a really cool customization made based on the Berry-Lincoln Store, offered on the Build Your Own Main Street Models website, which unfortunately no longer exists. 

This version, the "Dirty Garage" in HO scale (1/87 scale), was made by modeler Gomanvongo and is perfect for model railways, dioramas and wargames. 

At the end of the post, in addition to the original link to the forum, I will also leave another link with the AI-enhanced version, where I combined the two templates into a single PDF file. Have fun.

Hoje eu vi que este papercraft de uma oficina/garagem, a "Dirty Garage", originalmente publicado em Maio de 2012, estava nos Top Ten mensais do blog. 

Obviamente, depois de mais de dez anos, eu não me lembrava mais deste post e resolvi visitar o link. 

O endereço levava ao Hobby Talk, um forum de "colecionadores diecast, modelistas e entusiástas de autorama e carros de controle remoto", mas infelizmente o forum não existe mais. 

Graças ao Wayback Machine, eu consegui acessar o forum, mas os templates disponíveis lá estavam em baixíssima resolução. 

Resolvi este problema passando os templates por um editor de imagens online que usa inteligência artificial chamado Fotor (fotor.com). 

O resultado ficou bem razoável considerando a péssima resolução original dos templates. Depois, como não haviam imagens disponíveis do modelo terminado, resolvi montá-lo em 3D, usando o Sketchup. 

O resultado vocês podem ver nas imagens que ilustram este post. Este papercraft é na verdade uma customização bem legal feita em cima da Berry-Lincoln Store, oferecida no site Build Your Own Main Street Models que infelizmente também não existe mais. 

Esta versão, a "Dirty Garage" na escala HO (escala 1/87), foi feita pelo modelista Gomanvongo e é perfeita para maquetes ferroviárias, dioramas e wargames. 

No final do post, além do link original para o forum, também deixarei outro link com a versão melhorada por I.A, onde eu reuni os dois templates em um único arquivo PDF. Boa montagem.

The Silver Bus - 1968`s Cytroen HY Paper Model In 1/43 Scale by Gunnar Sillén

This papercraft of a Cytroen HY 1968 in 1/43 scale was created by Swedish architect, designer and modeler Gunnar Sillén, from Bilrum website. 

In addition to kindly making the model available, Mr. Sillén wrote a short report that I took the liberty of transcribing below, as the original text is in Swedish. 

As I used Goolge Translator to translate the text, some passages were truncated and confusing, so I made small adaptations to make them make sense, but the text itself is the same. 

As the model was originally published in 2018 for 2019, at the end of the text Mr. Sillén left wishes for Christmas and a good year 2019 and I decided to leave this part as in the original text.

"There was a time when I needed a travel vehicle for both work and leisure, as work was related to visiting industrial monuments and historic buildings in Europe and leisure was about providing good times with my friends. children. 

In 1971 I found the ideal car. It was a French Citroen Hy built in 1968 as a bus for 14 people and used by a mountain hotel in northern Sweden. 

The passenger seats could be temporarily dismantled to make room for light summer furniture that I built myself and which were easily foldable seats and table which when folded made room for a large flat sleeping area. 

Sometimes I traveled alone and sometimes my whole family spent pleasant weeks together, moving slowly from one place to another in Western and Eastern Europe. In fact, we saw the bus almost as if it were a living creature. He has definitely become an important member of our family. 

We all cried when we had to give it up to someone with better technical and financial resources to keep it running. And since then the bus appears in my dreams, accusing me of having abandoned it. 

This year I had the opportunity to look at my old photos of the bus as part of a photography project. I also discovered that the bus still exists and went to visit it in a garage in southern Sweden. I found that it provided great travel experiences for other families as well. I hope it is restored and given a new life. 

And now, finally, I realized the idea I had 40 years ago of making a paper model of our bus. The model build pictured above has been completed with clear windows and a detailed interior.

Este papercraft de um Cytroen HY modelo 1968 na escala 1/43 foi criado pelo arquiteto, designer e modelista sueco Gunnar Sillén, do site Bilrum. 

Além de gentilmente disponibilizar o modelo, o Sr. Sillén escreveu um pequeno relato que eu tomei a liberdade de transcrever abaixo, já que o texto original está em sueco. 

Como usei o Goolge Translator para traduzir o texto, algumas passagens ficarm truncadas e confusas, então fiz pequenas adaptações para que fizessem sentido, mas o texto em si é o mesmo. 

Como o modelo foi originalmente publicado em 2018 para 2019, no final do texto o Sr. Sillén deixou votos de Natal e um bom ano de 2019 e eu resolvi deixar esta parte como no texto original. 

"Houve um tempo em que eu precisei de um veículo de viagem tanto para o trabalho quanto para o lazer, sendo que s trabalho era relacionado com visitações a monumentos industriais e edifícios históricos na Europa e o lazer dizia respeito a proporcionar bons momentos junto a meus filhos. 

 Em 1971 encontrei o carro ideal. Era um Citroen Hy francês construído em 1968 como ônibus para 14 pessoas e usado por um hotel de montanha no norte da Suécia. 

Os assentos dos passageiros poderiam ser temporariamente desmontados para dar espaço a mobília leve de verão que eu mesmo construí e que hora eram assentos e mesa facilmente dobráveis e que quando dobrados davam espaço para uma grande área de dormir plana. 

Às vezes eu viajava sozinho e às vezes toda a minha família passava semanas agradáveis junta, movendo-nos lentamente de um lugar para outro na Europa Ocidental e Oriental. Na verdade, víamos o ônibus quase como se fosse uma criatura viva. Com certeza se tornou um membro importante da nossa família. 

Todos choramos quando tivemos que nos desfazer dela para alguém com melhores recursos técnicos e financeiros para mantê-la funcionando. E desde então o ônibus aparece em meus sonhos me acusando-me de tê-lo abandonado. 

Este ano tive a oportunidade de ver minhas fotos antigas do ônibus como parte de um projeto fotográfico. Também descobri que o ônibus ainda existe e fui visitá-lo em uma garagem no sul da Suécia. Descobri que ele proporcionou ótimas experiências de viagem também para outras famílias. Espero que seja restaurado e ganhe uma nova vida. 

E agora, finalmente, concretizei a ideia que já tinha há 40 anos de fazer um modelo de papel do nosso ônibus. O modelo construído na foto acima foi completado com janelas transparentes e um interior detalhado.

Bundesbüdchen - The Kiosk In The Old Government District Of Bonn In Germany Paper Model - by Papierdenkmal

Created by the talented German designer and modeler Jens Neuhaus, from Papierdenkmal website and made up of 28 pieces organized on a single sheet of paper, this is the paper model in HO scale (1/87 scale) of the kiosk in the old government district of Bonn, in Germany. 

Regarding this model, Mr. Neuhaus said: - "The legendary kiosk in Bonn's former government district provided political celebrities with news, tobacco products and hot sausages every day. 

Measuring just around 20 square meters and built entirely in the style of the time, the pavilion was established in 1957 as a permanent institution between the Chancellery, the Federal Palace and the Parliament building. 

Although the small building was classified as a historic monument in 2001, five years later it had to make way for a new congress center. Not far from its former location, it was reinstalled in Heussallee in 2020. The historic sales pavilion is now operated by the Historical Sales Pavilion Support Association." 

"Bundesbüdchen" is a German word that can be divided into two parts: "Bundes" refers to the federal or national government, and "Büdchen" is slang for a small shop, typically a kiosk or grocery store. 

Therefore, an approximate translation could be something like "federal kiosk" or "national grocery store." However, it's important to note that this translation may not fully capture the specific meaning or cultural context of the German expression.

Criado pelo talentoso designer e modelista alemão Jens Neuhaus, do site Papierdenkmal e composto de 28 peças organizadas em uma única folha de papel, este é o modelo de papel na escala HO (escala 1/87) do quiosque do antigo distrito governamental de Bonn, na Alemanha. 

A respeito deste modelo, o Sr. Neuhaus disse: - "O lendário quiosque no antigo distrito governamental de Bonn fornecia notícias, produtos de tabacaria e salsichas quentes às celebridades políticas todos os dias. 

Com apenas cerca de 20 metros quadrados e construído inteiramente no estilo da época, o pavilhão estabeleceu-se em 1957 como uma instituição permanente entre a Chancelaria, o Palácio Federal e o edifício do Parlamento.

Pripyat City Concrete Sign Paper Model - by Paper Replika

Created by the Indonesian designer and modeler Julius Perdana from Paper Replika website and spanning three printed sheets, this is the paper model of the iconic sign found at the entrance of Pripyat city. 

The concrete sign at the entrance of the city of Pripyat, located in Ukraine, is a historical and tragic landmark. Pripyat was a planned and prosperous city, built to accommodate the workers of the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. 

On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred, considered the worst nuclear accident in history. An explosion at the nuclear reactor released large amounts of radioactive material into the atmosphere, affecting vast areas and contaminating Pripyat. 

Authorities hastily evacuated the city to protect residents from the dangers of radiation. The concrete sign, with the inscription "Pripyat" or "При́п'ять" in Cyrillic, was once the proud entrance to the city, but now remains as a somber and tragic symbol of the catastrophe that took place. 

The site has become a tourist destination for so-called "disaster tourists", who visit the region to see the abandoned ruins and witness the devastating effects of the accident. 

The area around Pripyat is now a highly contaminated Exclusion Zone, where human life is extremely limited and controlled. 

The concrete sign stands as a silent reminder of the terrible consequences of human negligence in the nuclear industry and the importance of taking appropriate safety measures in such facilities.

Criado pelo designer e modelista indonésio Julius Perdana do site Paper Replika e ocupando três folhas impressas, este é o modelo de papel do icônico letreiro encontrado na entrada da cidade de Pripyat. 

O letreiro de concreto na entrada da cidade de Pripyat, localizada na Ucrânia, é um marco histórico e trágico. Pripyat era uma cidade planejada e próspera, construída para abrigar os trabalhadores da Usina Nuclear de Chernobyl, que ficava próxima. 

Em 26 de abril de 1986, ocorreu o desastre nuclear de Chernobyl, considerado o pior acidente nuclear da história. Uma explosão no reator nuclear liberou grandes quantidades de material radioativo na atmosfera, afetando vastas áreas e contaminando Pripyat.
