Here’s another easy-to-assemble paper toy, this time a van where orange and yellow are the dominant colors. I chose them because they are cheerful and often associated with the sun and summer.
This model is very simple, fitting on just a single printed sheet. Its construction consists of a single piece that, with a few strategic folds, forms the vehicle.
The creation process started in SketchUp, where I designed the van directly in the software and saved the model in .kmz format.
Then, I opened the file in Pepakura to "unfold" the 3D model and transform it into a 2D pattern, ready for printing. In this step, I added assembly tabs and adjusted the colors.

The model is available for free on the official website of Hara Village, Japan. The entire set fits on just two printed sheets and consists mainly of straight lines, making cutting, folding, and assembling much simpler. That’s why I consider it a perfect papercraft for children.
Hara Village is located in Nagano Prefecture, in eastern Japan. Nestled at the foot of Mount Yatsugatake, it is known for its picturesque rural landscapes and is part of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Japan" association, showcasing its rich natural beauty and agricultural heritage.

Created by the talented design team from the Italian website Paper Diorama, this is an amazing 1/140 scale papercraft of a subway station. More specifically, it represents the MTA, L Line 14th St./Canarsie 1st Ave. Station – New York, as it was in 2010.
The complete model takes up only four printed sheets and includes four Alstom R160A subway trains, allowing you to build a detailed and realistic station.
The Alstom R160A is a model of the New York subway train manufactured by Alstom, in partnership with Kawasaki. It is part of the R160 series, introduced between 2006 and 2010, to replace older trains on the MTA system and modernize the subway network.
On the L Line, which connects 14th Street (Manhattan) to Canarsie (Brooklyn), the R160A trains played a key role in upgrading the service, bringing air conditioning, automated announcement systems, and regenerative braking.
In 2010, the line was already using CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control) technology, allowing for greater operational efficiency and safety.
The 1st Ave. Station is the last underground stop on the L Line in Manhattan. After this station, the trains cross the East River through the Canarsie Tunnel, heading toward Brooklyn.
