Lightship Ambrose in 1:250 scale - by Digital Navy - Barco Farol

Lightship Ambrose was built in 1908 to guide ships through the newly opened deepwater Ambrose Channel, New York harbor’s main entrance from the open sea. In 1936, she was transferred to the Scotland station off Sandy Hook and retired in 1968. In 1968, she was acquired by the South Street Seaport Museum where she is moored along pier 16 to this day. - Digital Navy

O Barco Sinalizador Ambrose foi construído em 1908, na forma de um farol móvel,como bem explicou-me o grande modelista Sérgio, para orientar os navios através do recém-inaugurado Canal Ambrose de águas profundas , na entrada principal do Porto de Nova York até o mar aberto. Citroën is a major French automobile manufacturer, part of the PSA Peugeot Citroën group.
Founded in 1919 by French industrialist André-Gustave Citroën (1878–1935), Citroën was the first mass-production car company outside the USA and pioneered the modern concept of creating a sales and services network that complements the motor car. Within eight years Citroën had become Europe's largest car manufacturer and the 4th largest in the world.
The Eiffel Tower served as a billboard for Citroën from 1925 to 1934.
Citroën earned a reputation for innovation and revolutionary engineering, which is reflected in the company's slogan "Créative Technologie". Its history of innovation began with its founding, when André-Gustave Citroën introduced the first industrial mass production of vehicles outside the United States, a technique he developed mass-producing armaments for the French military in World War I. In 1924, Citroën produced Europe’s first all-steel-bodied car, the B-10. In 1934, Citroën secured its reputation for innovation with its Traction Avant, not only the world's first mass-produced front-wheel drive car, but also one of the first cars to feature a monocoque-type body. In 1954 Citroën produced the world's first hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension system, then in 1955 the revolutionary Citroën DS, the first European production car with disc brakes. In 1967, Citroën introduced the first swiveling headlights in several models, allowing for greater visibility on winding roads.
André Citroën built armaments for France during World War I and after the war he had a factory and no product. In 1919, the business started to produce automobiles, beginning with the conventional Type A. The Type A was designed by Jules Salomon, Chief Design Officer from Le Zèbre. Psycho is a 1960 American thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Janet Leigh, Vera Miles, John Gavin, and Anthony Perkins. The film is based on the screenplay by Joseph Stefano, who adapted it from the 1959 novel of the same name by Robert Bloch. The novel was loosely inspired by the crimes of Wisconsin murderer and grave robber Ed Gein, who lived just 40 miles from Bloch.
The film depicts the encounter between a secretary, Marion Crane (Leigh), hiding at a secluded motel after embezzling money from her employer, and the motel's disturbed owner and manager, Norman Bates (Perkins), and the aftermath of their encounter.
Psycho initially received mixed reviews, but outstanding box office returns prompted a re-review which was overwhelmingly positive and led to four Academy Award nominations. Psycho is now considered one of Hitchcock's best films and is highly praised as a work of cinematic art by international critics. The film spawned two sequels, a prequel, a remake, and a television movie spin-off. In 1992, the film was selected to be preserved by The Library of Congress at The National Film Registry.

Psycho, que no Brasil ficou conhecido como Psicose, é um filme americano de 1960, de suspense e terror, dirigido pelo mestre do suspense Alfred Hitchcock.
Hitchcock comprou anonimamente os direitos do livro de Robert Bloch, que deu origem ao roteiro do filme; ele pagou onze mil dólares e depois comprou todas as cópias disponíveis no mercado para que ninguém o lesse e, consequentemente, seu final não fosse revelado.
Psicose custou 800 mil dólares e faturou 50 milhões de dólares nas bilheterias do mundo inteiro.
O filme foi escolhido como o 11º melhor filme de todos os tempos e o melhor do gênero horror pela revista Entertainment Weekly. O filme foi eleito o 18º melhor de todos os tempos pelo AFI (Instituto Americano de Cinema).
No site Rotten Tomatoes, que reúne críticas de cinema do mundo inteiro, Psicose quase atingiu a perfeição: ganhou 98% de aprovação.

The Firebird was introduced the same year as the automaker's platform-sharing model, the Chevrolet Camaro. This coincided with the release of the 1968 Mercury Cougar, which shared its platform with another pony car, the Ford Mustang.
The vehicles were powered by various four-cylinder, six-cylinder, and V8 engines of different GM divisions. O TransAM é uma versão do Pontiac Firebird, automóvel fabricado pela extinta divisão Pontiac da General Motors.
Teve seu auge na década de 1970, quando fez parte do filme Smokey and the Bandit (Agarra-me se Puderes, no Brasil ), com Burt Reynolds.
A terceira geração do modelo ficou muito conhecida mundialmente por ter sido utilizada na série televisiva norte-americana Knight Rider, aqui no Brasil conhecida como Super Máquina. Também foi utilizado nos anos 80 como Pace Car da famosa corrida 500 Milhas de Indianapolis. O vencedor da corrida ganhava uma quantia em dinheiro, troféu, o carro no qual venceu a corrida e o Pace Car. Halloween (or Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
Historian Nicholas Rogers, exploring the origins of Halloween, notes that while "some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain, whose original spelling was Samuin (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)". The name of the festival historically kept by the Gaels in the British isles is derived from Old Irish and means roughly "summer's end".
Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, "Trick or treat?" The word "trick" refers to a (mostly idle) "threat" to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given. In some parts of Scotland children still go guising. O Halloween, ou Dia das Bruxas é um evento tradicional e cultural, que ocorre nos países anglo-saxônicos, com especial relevância nos Estados Unidos, Canadá, Irlanda e Reino Unido, tendo como base e origem as celebrações dos antigos povos (não existe referências de onde surgiram essas celebrações).
A origem do Halloween remonta às tradições dos povos que habitaram a Gália e as ilhas da Grã-Bretanha entre os anos 600 a.C. e 800 d.C., embora com marcadas diferenças em relação às atuais abóboras ou da famosa frase "Gostosuras ou travessuras", exportada pelos Estados Unidos, que popularizaram a comemoração. Originalmente, o Halloween não tinha relação com bruxas. Era um festival do calendário celta da Irlanda, o festival de Samhain, celebrado entre 30 de outubro e 2 de novembro e marcava o fim do verão (samhain significa literalmente "fim do verão"). Se analisarmos o modo como o Halloween é celebrado hoje, veremos que pouco tem a ver com as suas origens: só restou uma alusão aos mortos, mas com um carácter completamente distinto do que tinha ao princípio.
