Here is the third and last part of the assembly of the Athenian Treasury paper model. As you can see this is not a hard to build model, in fact they are just a lot of geometric shapes that come together to form an ancient Greek building in ruins. Also do not expect an accurate copy of the actual construction; only the general forms were taken into consideration. I am finishing the templates and tomorrow I will put this model to download.

Aqui está a terceira e última parte da montagem do modelo de papel do Tesouro Ateniense. Como você pode ver, não é um modelo difícil de montar, na verdade são apenas um monte de formas geométricas que se juntam para formar uma antiga construção grega em ruínas. Também não espere por uma cópia fiel da construção real; apenas as formas gerais foram levadas em consideração. Eu estou terminando de organizar os templates e amanhã coloco o modelo para download.

Athenian Treasury Paper Model - by Papermau - The Assembly - Part I

Here is the first part of the assembly of the Athenian Treasury paper model. This first assembly will serve to see if all parts are correct, if the flaps are functional and the way the pieces fit together makes the construction of this model be enjoyable. As soon as I finish editing and correcting any mistakes of the Little Grego Temple, I put the model for download, as usual.

Aqui está a primeira parte da montagem do modelo de papel do Tesouro Ateniense. Essa primeira montagem vai servir para ver se todas as partes estão corretas, se as abas são funcionais e se o modo como as peças se encaixam faz com que a construção deste modelo seja agradável. Assim que eu terminar a montagem e corrigir os eventuais erros que aparecerem, coloco o modelo para download, como de costume.

I used pages from old magazines like "stuffing" to reinforce and give weight to the base.
Eu usei páginas de velhas revistas como "recheio" para reforçar  e dar peso à base.

The Real Thing

The Athenian Treasury at Delphi was constructed by the Athenians to house dedications made by their city and citizens to the sanctuary of Apollo. The entire treasury, including its sculptural decoration, is built of Parian marble; its date of construction is disputed, scholarly opinion ranging from 510 to 480 BC. Pausanias mentions the building in his account of the sanctuary, claiming that it was dedicated from the spoils of the Battle of Marathon, fought in 490 BC. The building was excavated by the French School at Athens, and reconstructed from 1903-1906. - Wikipedia


O Tesouro de Atenas é um pequeno templo em estilo dórico, construído em comemoração á vitória dos atenienses na batalha de Marathon em 490 - 480 a.C. Todo coberto com inscrições das glorias de Atenas e agradecimentos da cidade de Atenas ao deus Apolo. Ele é todo construído em mármore. Os chamados Tesouros eram pequenas construções semelhantes a templos onde se guardavam os oferecimentos, presente e donativos que frequentemente eram muito valiosos.

The Real Thing

Kaminarimon Gate marks the entrance to Senso-ji Temple, a temple located in Tokyo's Taito City. The gate's official name is Furaijinmon ("Wind and Thunder God Gate"), and the Japanese wind and thunder gods are enshrined in the left and right sides of the gate. A huge lantern measuring 3.3 m in diameter and 3.9 m in height, with a weight of 700 kg, hangs in the center of the gate. Built by Taira-no-Kinmasa in the year 942, the gate was moved to its current location during the Kamakura period (1192-1333). The wind and thunder gods, enshrined when the gate was relocated, were first enshrined to protect from calamities, but they eventually came to be regarded as bringers of peace and plentiful harvests. Kaminarimon Gate has been destroyed three times by fires, and in 1960 it was rebuilt for the first time in 95 years. O templo de Sensoji, também conhecido como Asakusa Kannon, foi fundado no ano 645, sendo o mais antigo de Tóquio. Cada ano, cerca de 20 milhões de pessoas visitam esse templo, construído em homenagem à deusa Kannon. A Kaminarimon (Porta do Trovão) dá acesso à rua Nakamise Dori, um bulevar comercial com mais de 90 pontos-de-venda que leva o visitante até Hozomon (Porta do Tesouro), a entrada principal do templo. Nessa via comercial, você poderá comprar uma infinidade de produtos típicos, tais como: osembe (o famoso biscoito japonês), hachimaki (fita típica para a cabeça), kimonos e souvenires dos mais variados tipos. No recinto do templo de Sensoji, também poderá ver o O-koro, um grande incensório. De acordo com a tradição, a fumaça desse incensório fortalece os fracos e cura os doentes. Alerted by a friend of the blog, the Italian modeler Christian Ortone, that was missing a part of the roof in this Greek Temple, I reviewed the entire model and made ​​two versions of the missing part, with different textures. I did also instructions with photos that had not been made yet and turned the templates for the format. PDF, which eliminates the chance of printing the parts in different sizes. Now you can choose if use .pdf or .jpg formats. This paper model was originally posted here in the blog in June 23, 2011.

Alertado por um amigo do blog, o modelista italiano Christian Ortone, de que faltava uma parte do telhado deste Templo Grego no arquivo para download, eu revisei todo o modelo e fiz duas versões da parte que faltava, com texturas diferentes. Eu fiz também as instruções com fotos, que não haviam sido feitas ainda e transformei o modelo para o formato .PDF, o que elimina a chance de imprimir as peças em tamanhos diferentes. Agora você pode escolher se imprime o modelo em .pdf ou .jpg, os dois formatos estão incluídos no arquivo. Este modelo foi originalmente postado aqui no blog em 23 de junho de 2011.

About Toys In The Attic by Papermau:

Toys in the Attic is the third album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in April 1975. Is also a name of a 1963`s drama movie with Dean Martin and Geraldine Page. Now, because this is a really nice name, this will be the name of a new session of Papermau`s blog. In this session I will share old original and exclusive paper models posted more than a year here in the blog. It's a way of not letting these models get lost among over 3,000 posts in a year and a half of existence of the blog.

Toys in the Attic (Brinquedos no Sotão) é o nome do terceiro album da banda norte-americana de rock Aerosmith, lançado em 1975. É também o nome de um drama para o cinema de 1963 chamado aqui no Brasil de Na Voragem das Paixões, que contava no elenco com Dean Martin (o parceiro do Rat Pack e de Jerry Lewis) e Geraldine Page. Agora, porque eu acho esse um título muito legal, Toys in the Attic será o nome de uma nova sessão do blog Papermau. Nesta sessão eu publicarei antigos modelos de papel originais e exclusivos postados há um ano ou mais. Esta é a maneira que encontrei para que estes modelos não fiquem perdidos e esquecidos entre mais de três mil postagens feitas em um ano e meio de existência do blog.

The Ancient Byodoin Phoenix Hall Temple Paper Model by S. Umekawa & PBS

Created by Japanese designers S. Umekawa and PBS exclusively for Canon website, here's a perfect paper model version of Byodoin Phoenix Hall, an ancient Japanese temple. 

The model is extremely detailed and takes up 28 sheets of paper. The instructions take up 14 sheets, so you can get an idea that this is not a model for beginner modellers or impatient people. Byodoin is a famous Japanese temple that has been listed as a World Heritage Site. 

The temple was originally built in the early years of the Heian period (794-1185), as a rural villa called "Uji-dono" for court noble Fujiwara no Michinaga. After his death, Michinaga's son Fujiwara no Norimichi inherited the villa, and in the seventh year of the Eisho period (1052) he turned the villa into a Buddhist temple which was then named "Byodoin."

In the following year, the Amida Hall was constructed to provide a place of eternal rest for Amida, the Buddha of Infinite Light and Life, and this hall still contains architectural works and Buddha statues made around 1000 years ago.

O modelo é extremamente detalhado e ocupa 28 folhas de papel. As instruções ocupam 14 folhas, então você pode ter uma idéia de que esse não é um modelo para modelistas iniciantes ou pessoas impacientes. Byodoin é um famoso templo japonês que hoje é um Patrimônio Histórico Mundial. 

O templo foi construído originalmente nos primeiros anos do período Heian (794-1185), como uma casa de temporada chamada "Uji-dono" para a nobreza Fujiwara no Michinaga. Depois de sua morte, o filho de Michinaga, chamado Fujiwara no Norimichi herdou a vila, e transformou a casa em um templo budista que foi então chamado "Byodoin". 

Depois, a Câmara Amida foi construída para proporcionar um local de descanso eterno para Amida, o Buda da Luz Infinita e Vida. Ainda hoje esta sala possue obras arquitetônicas e estátuas de Buda feitas há cerca de 1000 anos atrás.
