Tarsila do Amaral Room Pop Up Paper Model - by PapermauDownload Now!

As part of the restructuring and cleaning of the blog, today I post here a model originally published in August, 2017. Here is small tribute to Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral, A Pop Up style paper model, very easy-to-build (just cut in red lines and fold in green lines) and takes up only one sheet of paper. A nice model to be used as playset or stand for miniatures, such as Playmobil and similars. - Tarsila do Amaral (1886-1973) was a Brazilian painter, draftswoman and translator and one of the central figures in painting at the first phase of the modernist movement in Brazil. Her painting Abaporu, of 1928, inaugurates the anthropophagic movement in the Brazilian plastic arts. - know more in Tarsila.do.Amaral.at.Wikipedia

Como parte da reestruturação e limpeza do blog, hoje posto aqui um modelo originalmente publicado em Agosto de 2017. Eis aqui uma pequena homenagem à Tarsila do Amaral, um modelo de papel em estilo Pop Up, bem fácil de montar (apenas corte nas linhas vermelhas e dobre nas linhas verdes) e que ocupa apenas uma folha de papel. The Lost Van Gogh Tatebanko - A Papercraft Project For Kidsby Storm The Castle

Here is a nice Van Gogh themed Tatebanko (a kind of Japanese diorama), offered by Will Kalif, from Storm the Castle website. Will says: - "This is a tutorial showing you how to make a Scene Box of a lost Vincent Van Gogh Painting (The Painter on his way to Work). I also give you the template with everything ready to go. You print it up and put it together. Tatebanko is the Japanese art of making dioramas out of paper. Typically the diorama is housed inside a paper box and portrays some kind of scene."

Eis aqui um Tatebanko (uma espécie de diorama japonês) inspirado na arte de Van Gogh, oferecido por Will Kalif, do site Storm the Castle. Will diz: - "Este é um tutorial que mostra como fazer uma Cena em uma Caixa de uma pintura perdida de Vincent Van Gogh (O pintor a caminho para o trabalho). Eu também te dou os moldes com tudo pronto para montar. Você só precisa imprimir e montar. Uma "caixa de cena" é uma pequena caixa de papel ou papelão com uma cena nela. "Tatebanko é a antiga arte de fazer dioramas de papel. Tipicamente estas cenas são postas dentro de caixas e normalmente representam cenas da vida cotidiana ou paisagens."

Based on the original art of Utagawa Kuniyoshi, the Japanese designers Tetsuya Watabe and Kamimodel have created this nice paper model of a Goldfish Dancing. Utagawa Kuniyoshi was a great master of the Japanese ukiyo-e style of woodblock prints and paintings in the late Edo period. Born in the Nihonbashi Honshirogane-cho area of Edo, Kuniyoshi's talents bloomed when he was still in his teens and he went to study under Utagawa Toyokuni I, a popular artist of the day. When Kuniyoshi was about 30 years old, he came into the limelight when he unveiled the series “One of the 108 Heroes of the Popular Water Margin,” based on a Chinese tale called “Water Margin.”

Baseados na arte de Utagawa Kuniyoshi, os designers japoneses Tetsuya Watabe e Kamimodel criaram este simpático modelo de papel de um Peixe Dourado Dançando. Utagawa Kuniyoshi foi um grande mestre do estilo japonês ukiyo-e de xilogravuras e pinturas no final do período Edo. Nascido na área de Nihonbashi Honshirogane-cho de Edo, o talento de Kuniyoshi floresceu quando ainda era adolescente e foi estudar com Utagawa Toyokuni I, um artista popular da época. Quando Kuniyoshi tinha cerca de 30 anos, tornou-se famoso por uma série de xilogravuras chamada “Um dos 108 Heróis da Margem Popular da Água", baseado em um conto chinês chamado “Margem do Rio".

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

Banksy`s Girl With Balloon Graffiti Papercraft - by PapermauDownload Now!

I believe everyone read, saw or heard about this Banksy graffiti/painting, "Girl With Balloon", which was semi-destroyed in loco after being auctioned for a record price. This is a very simple paper model version of Girl With Balloon. I hope it will be useful for school works or just to decorate your home. Have fun!

Balloon Girl (or Girl with Balloon) is a 2002 mural by graffiti artist Banksy depicting a young girl letting go of a red heart-shaped balloon. Banksy has used a variant of this image in his 2014 campaign supporting Syrian refugees. Another variant Banksy created for the 2017 United Kingdom general election generated controversy after he offered free prints for some anti-Conservative voters, and he soon retracted the offer. A 2017 poll ranked Balloon Girl as the United Kingdom's number one favourite artwork. In March 2014, the third anniversary of the Syria conflict, Banksy reworked the painting to depict a Syrian refugee and added the hashtag #WithSyria.


Shredding at auction - On 5 October 2018, a 2006 framed copy of the artwork was auctioned at Sotheby's selling for £1,042,000 – a record high for the artist. Moments after the closing bid, the artwork began to self-destruct by means of a hidden mechanical paper shredder that Banksy had built into the frame bottom. Only the lower half shredded. Banksy released an image of the shredding on Instagram with the words "Going, going gone...". Sotheby's said "We have not experienced this situation in the past where a painting spontaneously shredded", leading some market watchers to speculate the remains of the painting will be worth even more. Banksy released a video (below) of the shredding and how the shredder was installed into the frame in case the picture ever went up for auction. The women who won the bidding at the auction decided to go through with the purchase. The partially shredded work has been given a new title, Love Is in the Bin, and was authenticated by Banksy's authentication body Pest Control. Sotheby's released a statement that called it "the first artwork in history to have been created live during an auction."

Inu Puppy Paper Toy In A Classic Japanese Style - by Tetsuya Watabe & Kamimodel

Japanese designers Tetsuya Watabe and Kamimodel are working in a papercraft series of animals in a classic Japanese style based in old paintings. This Inu (dog) Puppy is an example. Surely I'm going to build this series and hope they continue to create more "creatures" like this. - Many thanks to my friend Jo Kizinger for this beautiful find!

Os designers japoneses Tetsuya Watabe e Kamimodel estão trabalhando em uma série de animais em papercraft em estilo japonês clássico baseado em pinturas antigas. Este filhote de Inu (cachorro) é um exemplo. Created by Canadian designer and modeler Gedelgo, this is the paper model version of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called Nike of Samothrace, a marble Hellenistic sculpture of Nike (the Greek goddess of victory), that was created about the 2nd century BC. Since 1884, it has been prominently displayed at the Louvre Museum, in France and is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world. It is one of a small number of major Hellenistic statues surviving in the original, rather than Roman copies. - You will find the model in two formats: PDF and PDO (Pepakura), so you can print the model with the PDF format and use the PDO format as guide, because it can be visualized in 3D. Criada pela designer e modelista canadense Gedelgo, esta é a versão em papel da Vitória Alada de Samotrácia, também chamada Nike de Samotrácia, uma escultura helenística de mármore representando Nike (a deusa grega da vitória), e foi esculpida no século II antes de Cristo. Desde 1884 é exibida com destaque no Museu do Louvre, na França e é uma das esculturas mais famosas do mundo. É uma das únicas grandes estátuas originais helenísticas que chegaram até os dias de hoje, em vez de cópias romanas. - Você encontrará o modelo em dois formatos: PDF e PDO (Pepakura), então você pode usar o PDF para imprimir as peças e o PDO como guia de montagem, já que com ele você pode visualizar o modelo em 3D. Here is small tribute to Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral, A Pop Up style paper model, very easy-to-build (just cut in red lines and fold in green lines) and takes up only one sheet of paper. A nice model to be used as playset or stand for miniatures, such as Playmobil and similars. 

Tarsila do Amaral (1886-1973) was a Brazilian painter, draftswoman and translator and one of the central figures in painting at the first phase of the modernist movement in Brazil. Her painting Abaporu, of 1928, inaugurates the anthropophagic movement in the Brazilian plastic arts. - know more in Tarsila.do.Amaral.at.Wikipedia

Eis aqui uma pequena homenagem à Tarsila do Amaral, um modelo de papel em estilo Pop Up, bem fácil de montar (apenas corte nas linhas vermelhas e dobre nas linhas verdes) e que ocupa apenas uma folha de papel. Um modelo bem bacana para playsets ou stand para miniaturas, tais como Playmobil e similares. 

Tarsila do Amaral (1886-1973) foi uma pintora, desenhista e tradutora brasileira e uma das figuras centrais da pintura e da primeira fase do movimento modernista no Brasil.
