Here is the first part of the assembly of the Ancient Thatched House, a papercraft that takes up just one printed sheet and which was posted here on the blog last week.
Below are the photos and, when necessary, I will add some text explaining something I think is relevant.
Eis aqui a primeira parte da montagem da Antiga Casa com Telhado de Palha, um papercraft que ocupa apenas uma folha impressa e que foi postado aqui no blog semana passada.
Abaixo seguem as fotos e, quando necessário, adicionarei algum texto explicando algo que achar pertinente.
As the model is quite small, I thought that making the doors and windows with flaps to cut, fold and glue would be a little difficult for most people, so I decided to use cardboard to "thicken" the walls and glue the doors and windows inside, thus creating the effect of depth more easily.
Como o modelo é bem pequeno, eu achei que fazer as portas e janelas com abas para recortar, dobrar e colar seria um pouco difícil para a maioria das pessoas, então resolvi usar papelão para "engrossar" as paredes e colar as portas e janelas por dentro, criando assim mais facilmente o efeito de profundidade.
I don't know if the photos will capture it well, but for a better finish, I use watercolor pencils to paint the edges of the pieces.
Some modelers use marker pens or even paint, applied with an almost dry brush, but I think it's more difficult and risky this way because you can smudge the paper or leave it damp and deformed.
Sometimes you build a model with care and those white edges take away half the "brightness" the model could have.
Believe me, those colorless edges really attract the eyes, drawing attention away from the model itself.
Eu não sei se as fotos vão captar bem, mas para um melhor acabamento, eu uso lápis de cor aquarelável para pintar as bordas das peças.
Alguns modelistas usam canetas hidrocor ou tinta mesmo, aplicada com pincel quase seco, mas eu acho mais difícil e arriscado assim porque você pode borrar o papel ou deixá-lo úmido e deformado.
Às vezes você constrói um modelo com esmero e aquelas bordas brancas tiram a metade do "brilho" que o modelo poderia ter.
Acredite, aquelas bordas sem cor realmente atraem os olhos, tirando a atenção para o modelo em si.
In the photos above and below we see the assembly of the veranda which is made up of just two parts, the support structure and the roof.
The structure has an external side and an internal side and, as you can see in the image, you fold the external parts inwards and that's it.
Once attached to the building's facade, just glue the roof on.
Nas fotos acima e abaixo temos a montagem da varanda que é composta de apenas duas peças, a estrutura de suporte e o telhado.
A estrutura tem o lado externo e o lado interno e, como você pode ver na imagem, dobra-se as partes externas para dentro e pronto.
Depois de fixada à fachada da prédio, é só colar o telhado.
