Follow-Me-Eyes Achmed The Dead Terrorist Paper Toyby SK Galeana

Sk Galeana created a type of “Cubee Follow-Me-Eyes". With certain cubeecrafts, an extra piece can be inserted into the head. This piece will give the illusion of moving eyes. No matter where the viewer moves, the eyes will follow.

SK Galeana criou uma espécie de "Cubee com Olhos-Que-Seguem". Em alguns cubbecrafts, uma peça extra pode ser inserida na cabeça. Esta peça vai dar a ilusão de olhos em movimento. Não importa para onde o observador se mova, os olhos irão seguí-lo.

Created by North American designer Bryan, from Paper Foldables website, this is Adam Bomb, character from Garbage Pail Kids, a series of trading cards produced by the Topps Company, originally released in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were popular at the time.

Criado pelo designer norte-americano Bryan, do site Paper Foldables, este é o Adam Bomb, personagem de Garbage Pail Kids, um álbum de figurinhas bizarro lançado em 1985 nos EUA e no Brasil em 1987 (Gang do Lixo), parodiando umas bonecas bonitinhas que eram muito populares na época.

A Roman Temple Paper Model In 1/100 Scale - by Secanda Models

This Roman Temple paper model was created by my friend, the great French designer and modeler Secanda. About this model he says:

- "This is the famous Roman temple of the Augustus time at Nîmes in Southern France: the so-called "Maison Carrée". This exceptionally well preserved temple was erected at the beginning of 1st century for the imperial cult. This temple was dedicated to the two adoptive sons of Augustus (in reality they were his grandsons) Caius and Lucius, to strengthen the future of the dynasty but they both died before their grandfather...

As my other architectural models, the scale is 1/100. The model has a removable roof and needs 21 sheets A4 to print. Note that two elements don't follow the reality of the present building:

#1. I added the inscription of dedication (to Caius and Lucius, the Augustus's grandsons) at its original place on the building's front. In the reality the bronze letters have disappeared (only the holes of the letters remain) and the complete inscription was restituted on a low wall near the building, not on it.

#2. I added the three statues of Augustus, Lucius and Caius inside the cella. It's pure fantasy because without archaeological remainings but it's very probable they were presented in a rather near way. However they are not to glue, it's just an option to populate a few the nude inside space of the cella.

Este modelo de papel de um Templo Romano foi criado pelo meu amigo, o grande designer e modelista francês Secanda. Sobre esse modelo ele diz:

- "Este é o famoso templo romano da época de Augusto em Nîmes, no sul da França: o chamado "Maison Carrée". Este templo excepcionalmente bem preservado foi erguido no início do século I para o culto imperial. Este templo foi dedicado aos dois filhos adotivos de Augusto (na verdade eles eram seus netos) Caius e Lucius, para fortalecer o futuro da dinastia, mas ambos morreram antes de seu avô ...

Como meus outros modelos de arquitetura, a escala deste é de 1/100. O modelo tem um teto removível e precisa de 21 folhas A4 para imprimir. Note que dois elementos não seguem a realidade do edifício real:

#1. Eu adicionei a inscrição da dedicação (para Caius e Lucius, os netos de Augusto) em seu lugar original na frente do edifício. Na realidade as letras de bronze desapareceram (apenas os nichos permanecem) e a inscrição completa foi restituída em um parede perto do edifício, não sobre ele.

#2. Eu adicionei as três estátuas de Augusto, Lucius e Caius dentro do cella. É pura fantasia porque não há vestígios arqueológicos, mas é muito provável que eles tenham sido apresentados de uma forma bastante próxima. Contudo estas estátuas são opcionais, para preencher alguns dos espaços no interior da cella.

Notre-Dame Cathedral In France Paper Model - by S.Umekawa & PBS

On April 15, 2019, almost two years ago, a fire destroyed a large part of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, one of the oldest French cathedrals (built in the year 1163) in Gothic style. Occupying only eight sheets of paper, this model created by Japanese designers S.Umekawa & PBS depicts the cathedral in all its splendor. Many thanks to my friend Aldo for the ideia for this post.

No dia 15 de abril de 2019, há quase dois anos, um incêndiodestruiu grande parte da Catedral de Notre-Dame, uma das mais antigas catedrais francesas (sua construção foi iniciada no ano de 1163) em estilo gótico. Ocupando apenas oito folhas de papel, este modelo criado pelos designers japonese S.Umekawa & PBS retrata a catedral em todo seu explendor. On the Wow DIY team channel on Youtube you will find a multitude of tutorials teaching how to create miniature houses, castles, fairy houses, huts, villages and dioramas using nothing but cardboard, paper, plastic soda bottles, aluminum foil, paint, hot glue pistol and modeling clay. The tutorials are very well done, full of details and with the measurements of the models, so, if someone really wants to try, it is possible to recreate at home, with recyclable materials, some of the beautiful houses of Wow DIY. 

I always watch the videos and always learn something new. A highly recommended and safe channel for children.

Os tutoriais são muito bem feitos, cheios de detalhes e com as medidas dos modelos, então, se alguém realmente quiser tentar, é possível recriar em casa, com materiais recicláveis, algumas das belas casinhas do Wow DIY. 

Eu sempre assisto os videos e sempre aprendo algo novo. Um canal altamente recomendado e seguro para crianças.
