Here, a second attempt with styrofoam board. I got this styrofoam board out of a TV package. I decided to try something in 1/24 scale, which is the scale of Playmobil miniatures. As I have a set of Roman legionaries, I decided to create something that could be used as a stand for them. The type of structure I have in mind can also be used for medieval or pirate themed dioramas.
Aqui, uma segunda tentativa com placa de isopor. Eu arrumei essa placa de isopor de uma embalagem de televisor. Resolvi tentar algo na escala 1/24, que é a escala das miniaturas Playmobil. Como eu tenho um set de legionários romanos, decidi criar algo que pudesse ser usado como um stand para eles. O tipo de estrutura que tenho em mente também pode ser usado para dioramas com temática medieval ou de piratas.
I chose a part of the center of the plate, where there was already a space that has the perfect shape of a passage/door.
Escolhi uma parte do centro da placa, aonde já havia um espaço que tem o formato perfeito de uma passagem/porta.
With a ballpoint pen I marked lines, forming a pattern of bricks or blocks.
Com uma caneta esferográfica eu demarquei linhas, formando padrão de tijolos ou blocos.
Then, with a utility knife, I made 3mm deep grooves over the pen marks. With an ice cream stick I made a kind of spatula that I used to reinforce the cracks between each brick.
Depois, com um estilete, eu fiz ranhuras de 3 mm de profundidade por cima das marcas de caneta. Com um palito de sorvete fiz uma espécie de espátula que usei para reforçar as fendas entre cada tijolo.
To paint, I used matte acrylic paints in black (for the base) and white (for the dry brush).
Para pintar, usei tintas acrílicas foscas nas cores preta (para a base) e branca (para a pintura a seco).
For base paint, there is no secret. You will paint everything without leaving white spaces between the grooves. Two coats are enough and, for the paint to penetrate well into the grooves, we can dilute it with a little water in the first coat. The second coat is made with pure paint.
Para a pintura base, não há segredo. Você vai pintando tudo sem deixar espaços brancos entre as ranhuras. Duas demãos já são o bastante e, para que a tinta penetre bem nas ranhuras, podemos diluí-la com um pouco de água na primeira demão. A segunda demão é feita com a tinta pura.

Below, the piece already with the dry painting performed. The dry brush technique is simple: wet the brush in the paint and then, before passing it on the piece to be painted, brush it on another surface until the brush is almost dry. Only then do you paint the main piece. The idea is that it is executed with smooth, agile and delicate movements, leaving a small amount of color in each of these passes. More soon.
Abaixo, a peça já com a pintura a seco executada. A técnica do pincel seco é simples: molha-se o pincel na tinta e então, antes de passá-lo na peça ser pintada, pincele-o em uma outra superfície até que o pincel fique quase seco. Só então você pinta a peça principal. A ideia é que seja executado com movimentos suaves, ágeis e delicados, deixando uma pequena quantidade de cor em cada uma destas passagens. Mais em breve.
