Created by Japanese designer Lazy Life, this is the
Soviet Tank Kliment Voroshilov, or
KV-1, here in a very well done
paper model version in 1/72 scale. The
Kliment Voroshilov (KV) tanks were
a series of Soviet heavy tanks named after the Soviet defense commissar and politician Kliment Voroshilov and used by the
Red Army during
World War II. The KV series were known for their heavy armour protection during the
early part of the war, especially
during the first year of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. In certain situations,
even a single KV-1 or KV-2 supported by infantry was capable of halting the enemy's onslaught. German tanks at that time were
rarely used in KV encounters as their armament was too poor to deal with the

Este é o Tanque Soviético Kliment Voroshilov, ou KV-1, aqui em uma bela
versão em papel na escala 1/72 criada pelo

Esse
tanque soviético pesado passou pelos primeiros testes militares nas
últimas semanas da Guerra Soviético-Finlandesa. Em
1941, o
KV era considerado um dos tanques pesados mais fortes do mundo. “Não havia praticamente meios para lidar com aquele monstro.
A tentativa de destruí-lo com o fogo de uma bateria antitanque de 50 milímetros a uma distância de 500 metros levou a grandes perdas”, diz um documento alemão da época. Com o tempo,
a maior parte dos KV se perdeu não por ação dos combates, mas por avarias e falta de combustível.
