British Tank Vickers Mk II In 1/72 and 1/48 Scales - by Alberto Perilli / Landships

The Vickers Medium Mark II was a British tank built by Vickers in the Inter-war period. The Medium Mark II, derived from the Vickers Medium Mark I, was developed to replace the last of the Medium Mark Cs still in use. Production and rebuilding ran from 1925 until 1934. The tank was phased out of service from 1939, replaced by the Cruiser Mk I. It featured several improvements over the Vickers Mark I : a higher superstructure with the driver's vizor on top of it instead of in front of it; an improved suspension protected by armour skirts; and Rackham clutches, providing a primitive form of mechanical servo-control. Due to a slightly higher weight its rated speed was somewhat slower than that of the Medium Mark I, at 13 mph compared to 15 mph. - Wikipedia


O tanque leve Vickers MK II foi um tanque de guerra britânico fabricado pela Vickers no período entre-guerras. Ele era derivado do Vickers Mark I. Sua produção se extendeu entre os anos sde 1925 e 1934. Ele foi "aposentado" em 1939, mas alguns deles foram reformados e utilizados na Segunda Grande Guerra.

The word Automaton is the latinization of the Greek αὐτόματον,... automaton, (neuter) “acting of one’s own will”. It is more often used to describe non-electronic moving machines, especially those that have been made to resemble human or animal actions, such as the jacks on old public striking clocks, or the cuckoo and any other animated figures on a cuckoo clock.
An evolution of the mechanized toys developed during the 18th and 19th centuries is represented by automata made with paper. Despite the relative simplicity of the material, paper automata intrinsically are objects with a high degree of technology, where the principles of mechanics meet the artistic creativity. - Wikipedia


A palavra Automaton é uma adaptação do grego αὐτόματον, ou agir por si próprio. É mais usado para descrever máquinas com movimentos não eletrônicos, tais como bonecos de corda ou mola, relógios cuco, ou qualquer outra figura animada, por meios que não os elétricos ou eletrônicos. Uma evolução dos brinquedos mecânicos, desenvolvidos durante os séculos XVIII e XIX são os autômatos feitos em papel. Apesar da relativa simplicidade do material usado, no caso o papel, os chamados "paper automata" são objetos com alto grau de tecnologia, onde os rígidos princípios da mecânica harmonizam-se com a criatividade e liberdade artísticas.

Parrots, also known as psittacines, are birds of the roughly 372 species in 86 genera that make up the order Psittaciformes, found in most tropical and subtropical regions. The order is subdivided into three superfamilies: the Psittacoidea ('true' parrots), the Cacatuoidea (cockatoos) and the Strigopoidea (New Zealand parrots). Parrots have a generally pantropical distribution with several species inhabiting temperate regions in the Southern Hemisphere as well. The greatest diversity of parrots is found in South America and Australasia.
