Halloween Special - Classic Universal Monsters Poseable Paper Toys by Paper Empire

Here are five articulated paper toys of classic monsters from Universal Studios, all created by the American designer and modeler Chris "The Professor" Spitler, from Paper Empire website. 

You will find the Monster of Frankenstein, The original Gothic zombie superstar; Count Dracula, The dapper dead Transylvanian; the Mummy, the undead Egyptian terror; the Wolf Man, the hairy horror himself and the Phanton of the Opera, the mangled maniacal musician. 

In the same link you will also find two more paper toys, Frankenstein and the Mummy, but in a much simpler style, suitable for children. 

About Chris, I took the liberty of reproducing below the biography he published on his website: 

"Pleased to meet you; so happy you stopped by. I'm Chris Spitler, but around here they call me The Professor. When I'm not teaching Drama and Journalism to Middle School kids, or jamming with various blues bands, I keep myself busy designing paper models. I've been obsessed with this hobby for over a decade, and have made a lot of friends along the way. 

I ran another website in the early 2000s, and met and collaborated with lots of great artists. I took a break for a few years to devote myself to music and teaching, but then this crazy locked-down world brought me back to this awesome hobby as a means to keep my sanity. Up until now, my focus has has been primarily on pop culture subjects drawn from my favorite franchises as both a child and an adult, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

However, I have begun to explore more original designs, and plan to pursue that avenue further in the days to come. "Prazer em conhecê-lo; que bom que você passou por aqui. Sou Chris Spitler, mas por aqui me chamam de Professor. Star Wars - Darth Vader Accurate Helmet Paper Model In 1/1 Scale by Joey Juvito

In fact, I know nothing about Joey Juvito, unless he is a great designer and he created the most perfect paper version so far of Darth Vader`s helmet/mask. 

Joey kindly shared his work at The RPF forum and his friend Dan built the model with perfection, as you can see in the photos of this post. 

In 1/1 scale, this is great model for all fans of Star Wars and Cosplayers.

Voyagers! - Omni-Compass Paper Model In 1/1 Scale - by ScannerJOE

ScannerJOE, from Mexico, is a modeler and papercraft enthusiast since he was a child and a cosplayer since 2008, and when he's not doing either of those things, he's a software developer as well as a few opensource software projects. 

Regarding this role model, ScannerJOE said: - "If you're an "old" geek like me, you'll appreciate this model from the 80's series Voyagers. I actually built a papercraft of it in my childhood but it wasn't as accurate like this one." 

"Voyagers!" is an American television series from the 1980s that aired from 1982 to 1983. The series follows the adventures of Phineas Bogg, a member of a secret society of time travelers, and Jeffrey Jones, a young boy. 

They travel through time, correcting historical errors, while trying to find the lost time travel guidebook. The series had an educational theme, teaching historical facts in a fun and engaging way for a younger audience. 

"Voyagers!" combined adventure, history, and science fiction and was well-received by its target audience at the time. 

In the series, the Omni, or "Omni-Compass," is the central device used by time travelers to journey through time and correct historical errors. It is a kind of remote control in the form of a medallion with a screen that displays information about dates and locations. 

The Omni emits a distinctive sound and flashes when a historical error is nearby, helping the travelers identify when and where they should intervene to correct the timeline. The main characters' objective is to use the Omni to guide their time travels and ensure that history is preserved correctly.

You will find the model in two formats: PDF and PDO (Pepakura), so you can print the model with the PDF format and use the PDO format as guide, because it can be visualized in 3D.

The Perfect Storm - Fishing Vessel Andrea Gail Paper Model by Paper Diorama

Created by the talented design team from the Italian website Paper Diorama, here is a beautiful paper diorama in 1/400 scale representing the fishing boat Andrea Gail facing its likely fateful destiny. 

The entire model occupies only two printed sheets, one for the boat and another for the stand, and despite the tiny pieces, it's not difficult to assemble. Furthermore, if you wish, you can increase the scale when printing. 

The diorama hypothetically shows what may have happened, as there are no exact records of what really occurred with the boat and its crew. 

The fishing boat Andrea Gail was a commercial fishing vessel that gained notoriety due to the tragic fate it faced. In October 1991, during a storm in the Atlantic Ocean, the Andrea Gail and its crew disappeared without a trace. The boat was never found, and all six crew members lost their lives. 

This tragic story was subsequently portrayed in the book "The Perfect Storm," written by Sebastian Junger, and in the 2000 film of the same name directed by Wolfgang Petersen, which detail the events that led to the Andrea Gail's tragedy.

The book describes how the boat and its crew were hit by an intense storm, considered the "Perfect Storm" due to the combination of different meteorological factors that made it extremely violent.

The fate of the Andrea Gail became a symbol of the dangers faced by fishermen who venture into turbulent and stormy waters, especially in the North Atlantic region.

In the video just below, you can see a scene from the 2000 movie showing the spectacular wave that inspired the Paper Diorama team to create this papercraft.

Criado pela talentosa equipe de designers do site italiano Paper Diorama, eis aqui um belo diorama de papel na escala 1/400 representando o barco pesqueiro Andrea Gail enfrentando seu provável fatídico destino.

O modelo todo ocupa apenas duas folhas impressas, uma para o barco e outra para o stand e, apesar das peças diminutas, não é difícil de montar. Além do mais, se você quiser, pode aumentar a escala na hora de imprimir. 

O diorama mostra hipoteticamente o que pode ter acontecido, já que não há registros exatos do que realmente ocorreu com o barco e sua tripulação.

O pesqueiro Andrea Gail era um barco de pesca comercial que ganhou notoriedade devido ao trágico destino que enfrentou. Em outubro de 1991, durante uma tempestade no Oceano Atlântico, o Andrea Gail e sua tripulação desapareceram sem deixar vestígios. O barco nunca foi encontrado e todos os seis membros da tripulação perderam a vida.

Essa história trágica foi posteriormente retratada no livro "The Perfect Storm" (A Tempestade Perfeita), escrito por Sebastian Junger, e no filme de mesmo nome lançado em 2000, dirigido por Wolfgang Petersen, que detalham os eventos que levaram à tragédia do Andrea Gail.

O livro descreve como o barco e sua tripulação foram atingidos por uma tempestade intensa, considerada a "Tempestade Perfeita" devido à combinação de diferentes fatores meteorológicos que a tornaram extremamente violenta.

Spirited Away - Haku, The Dragon Paper Model - by Hiroyuki Takeuchi

Created by designer, model maker, and collector Hiroyuki Takeuchi, here is a perfect paper version of Haku, the dragon. Haku is the deuteragonist of the 2001 animated Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away. 

He is actually a dragon, who disguises as a human boy. He is the spirit/god of the Kohaku River, as his birth name is Kohakunushi Nigihayami. "Spirited Away" is a famous Japanese animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. 

Released in 2001, the film follows the story of Chihiro, a young girl who enters a magical and mysterious world after her parents are transformed into pigs. Chihiro must work in a public bathhouse for spirits and face challenges to rescue her parents and find her own way back to the real world. 

The movie is known for its rich animation, captivating characters, and profound messages about courage, friendship, and respect for nature. "Spirited Away" is widely considered an animation masterpiece and has won several awards, including the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. 

Mr. Takeuchi manages a website (link below) that serves as a virtual museum where he showcases his own papercraft creations as well as those of other designers from around the world. There, he also catalogs all sorts of things, from magazines to records, from vintage toys to household items from various time periods. 

It's a very interesting website, even if the language is Japanese, as you can easily translate it by clicking with the left mouse button and selecting your preferred language.

Criado pelo designer, modelista e colecionador Hiroyuki Takeuchi, eis aqui uma perfeita versão em papel de Haku, o dragão. Haku é o deuteragonista do filme de animação de 2001 do Studio Ghibli, "A Viagem de Chihiro".

Na verdade, ele é um dragão que se disfarça como um garoto humano. Ele é o espírito/deus do Rio Kohaku, e seu nome de nascimento é Kohakunushi Nigihayami. "Spirited Away", ou "A Viagem de Chihiro", é um famoso filme de animação japonês dirigido por Hayao Miyazaki e produzido pelo Studio Ghibli.
