The Service Station - A Papercraft Created Using An Ilustration Generated by Artificial intelligence

I would really like to say that I was the one who created the illustration of this gas station in 8-bit style, but the truth is that it was created by Artificial Intelligence, more precisely Bing's AI, or Microsoft's Copilot. 

All I had to do was write a text, or prompt, with the following words: "1950s US service station facade, front view, bird's eye view, color art in 8-bit style." 

After a few seconds, Bing generated four different images, four variations based on my prompt. 

The image you see in this post is practically the same image that Bing presented to me. 

I only made the base and some modifications to the writing because I don't know why, artificial intelligences have problems with words and letters, just like they do when creating human hands. Anyone who has used any of these tools knows what I'm talking about. 

Anyway, there's the downloadable model, which is just a stand for miniature vehicles.

Eu gostaria muito de dizer que fui eu quem criou a ilustração deste posto de gasolina em estilo 8 bits, mas a verdade é que ela foi criada por uma Inteligência Artificial, mais precisamente a IA do Bing, ou Copilot da Microsoft. 

Tudo que eu precisei fazer foi escrever um texto, ou prompt, com as seguintes palavras: "fachada de um posto de serviços dos anos 1950 dos EUA, visão frontal, visão panorâmica, arte colorida em estilo 8 bits". 

Depois de alguns segundos o Bing gerou quatro imagens diferentes, quatro variações baseadas no meu prompt. 

A imagem que você vê neste post, a que eu escolhi entre as quatro, é praticamente a mesma imagem que o Bing me apresentou. 

Fiz apenas a base e algumas modificações nas escritas porque não sei qual a razão, as inteligências artificiais têm problemas com palavras e letras, assim como têm ao criar mãos humanas. Quem já usou alguma dessas ferramentas sabe do que estou falando. 

De qualquer forma, aí está o modelo para download, que é apenas um stand para veículos em miniatura.

Using Artificial Intelligence Generated Textures to Create Papercrafts by Papermau

I have been experimenting with generating images using artificial intelligence, more precisely Microsoft's Bing, and I am impressed by the practically infinite possibilities that this type of tool provides. 

I intend to make some more detailed posts in the coming days talking a little about what I know so far about the subject, but today I'm just leaving some images of what I've been doing. 

The first two images in this post show what I did using textures generated by Bing from a basic prompt where I asked for a "blueprint/façade of a 1950s gas station, realistic style." 

Among the four arts created (Bing always creates four options for each prompt) the one I liked the most was the one you see in the third image of this post. 

Interestingly, the facades came like this, cut in half, but it was enough for me to imagine something.

I saved the image on my HD, opened it in MsPaint and cutting from here and pasting from there, using some more varied textures taken from Google searches, I created what you see in the first two images of this post. 

In the fourth image you can see my progress so far in a template with the pieces already taking the form we know for a papercraft itself. More soon.

Eu tenho feito experiências com geração de imagens por inteligência artificial, mais precisamente o Bing, da Microsoft, e estou impressionado com as possibilidades praticamente infinitas que esse tipo de ferramenta proporciona. 

Pretendo fazer alguns posts mais detalhados nos próximos dias falando um pouco sobre o que eu sei até agora sobre o assunto, mas hoje deixo apenas algumas imagens do que tenho feito. 

As primeiras duas imagens deste post mostram o que fiz usando texturas geradas pelo Bing a partir de um prompt básico em que pedi um "blueprint/fachada de um posto de gasolina da década de 1950, estilo realista". 

Entre as quatro artes criadas (o Bing sempre cria quatro opções para cada prompt) a que mais me agradou foi a que você vê na terceira imagem deste post. 

Curiosamente, as fachadas vieram assim, cortadas ao meio, mas foram o bastante para que eu imaginasse algo. 

Salvei a imagem em meu HD, abri no MsPaint e cortando daqui e colando dali, usando mais algumas texturas variadas tiradas de buscas do Google, criei o que você vê nas duas primeiras imagens deste post. 

Na quarta imagem você vê os meus avanços até agora em um template com as peças já tomando a forma que conhecemos para um papercraft propriamente dito. Mais em breve.

The Medieval Castle - A 2009`s Papermau Original Papercraft Download Now!

Here is the papercraft of the medieval castle that I showed yesterday. I just created the PDF and the images that illustrate this post are the originals taken in 2009. 

As I already said, I created this papercraft in January 2009. It was completely designed and textured in MsPaint and was originally published here on the blog in 2011. 

I thought I had lost the original templates, but luckily I found them on an old rewritable CD. 

I also found the original papercraft of the castle that I built in 2009. 

The model was kept in a shoe box all these years, protected from light and humidity and is in perfect condition after 15 years. 

Many people don't give the papercraft hobby a chance because they think that what they create or assemble today will disintegrate in a few days or months, when in fact, with a little basic care, a papercraft can last for years, like this castle, which if it were a person, today would be a teenager.

Eis aqui o papercraft do castelo medieval que eu havia mostrado ontém. Acabei de criar o PDF e as imagens que ilustram este post são as originais tiradas em 2009. 

Como já havia dito, eu criei este papercraft em Janeiro de 2009. Ele foi todo desenhado e texturizado no MsPaint e foi publicado aqui no blog originalmente em 2011. 

 Eu pensei haver perdido os templates originais, mas por sorte os encontrei em um velho CD regravável. Também encontrei o papercraft original do castelo que eu montei também em 2009. 

O modelo ficou todos estes anos guardado em uma caixa de sapatos, protegido da luz e umidade e encontra-se em perfeito estado depois de 15 anos. 

Muitas pessoas não dão uma chance ao hobby do papercraft porque pensam que o que elas criarem ou montarem hoje se desintegrará em poucos dias ou meses, quando na verdade, com poucos cuidados básicos, um papercraft pode durar anos, como este castelo, que se fosse uma pessoa, hoje seria um adolescente.

McGurk`s Tavern - A Miniature Pub Paper Model - by Papermau Download Now!

This papercraft of a pub, the McGurk`s Tavern, was freely inspired by an architectural model present in the 3D train simulator "Railroad Tycoon 3". 

I say "freely inspired" because I only had the textures of the model, but not an image of the assembled building, so I had to use my imagination to try and figure out where each piece should go. 

I got these textures on a website called Textures Resource (link at the end of this post) which is a kind of community of gamers that collects textures from video games from all platforms (computers and consoles) and files them alphabetically. 

They use these textures to make modifications to games, but as you can see in this post, textures are also very useful for papercrafts, just a little imagination. 

I would like to thank the entire community and especially the user known as "Eldomtom2", who is responsible for capturing the texture used in this model. 

The entire model occupies only one printed sheet and I believe it will be useful for dioramas and wargames. Have fun.

Este papercraft de um pub, o McGurk`s Tavern, foi livremente inspirado em um prédio presente no simulador de trens 3D "Railroad Tycoon 3". 

Eu digo "livremente inspirado" porque eu só tinha as texturas do modelo, mas não uma imagem do prédio montado, então tive que usar a imaginação para tentar descobrir aonde deveria ir cada peça. 

Eu consegui essas texturas em um site chamado Textures Resource (link no final deste post) que é uma espécie de comunidade de gamers que coleta texturas de videogames de todas as plataformas (computadores e consoles) e as arquiva em forma alfabética. 

Eles usam essas texturas para fazer modificações em jogos, mas como vocês podem ver nesta postagem, as texturas também são muito úteis para papercrafts, basta um pouco de imaginação. 

Deixo aqui então meus agradecimentos a toda a comunidade e especialmente ao usuário conhecido como "Eldomtom2", que é o responsável por capturar a textura usada neste modelo.
