A few days ago I published (or rather, republished, as the original link had expired) here on the blog a diorama/playset of the Batcave, the version that appeared in the 1966 Batman television series, created by British designer Philip Lawrence, from Action Figure Theater website.
I received some emails saying that instructions or assembly tips would be welcome, as the parts are not numbered and there is no type of guidance other than a 3D image.
Well, I found this model of the Batcave put together by an American modeler called Bill Thompson and as you can see, he did an incredible job, didn't he?
From this photo I believe that friends interested in assembling their own Batcave will have fewer difficulties, as it is very clear where the various pieces designed by Mr. Lawrence go. The link to download the Batcave will be below, at the end of this post.
Now, about Bill, who assembled the Batcave in the photo, he is not just a model maker. Bill is, in his own words, a "computer professional, motorcycle enthusiast, website designer, amateur magician and mad scientist."
He has a really nice website called Weird Fantastic Toys Adventures (print screen below), which, also in his words, "is a diary chronicling the adventures of my toys and anything else that might be on my mind. If you love toys, cartoons, comics, movies, TV shows, pop culture, and Gen X nostalgia from the '70s and '80s, then this is the place for you!"

Há alguns dias atrás eu publiquei (ou melhor, republiquei, já que o link original havia caducado) aqui no blog um diorama/playset da Batcaverna, a versão que aparecia no seriado televisivo do Batman de 1966, criação do designer britânico Philip Lawrence, do site Action Figure Theatre.
Recebi alguns e-mails dizendo que instruções ou dicas de montagem seriam bem vindas, já que as peças não são numeradas e não há nenhum tipo de orientação a não ser uma imagem em 3D.
Bem, encontrei este modelo da Batcaverna montado por um modelista americano chamado Bill Thompson e como vocês podem ver, ele fez um trabalho incrível, não é mesmo?
A partir desta foto eu creio que os amigos interessados em montar sua própria Batcaverna terão menos dificuldades, já que fica bem claro aonde vão as várias peças desenhadas pelo Sr. Lawrence. O link para baixar a Batcaverna estará logo abaixo, no final deste post.
Agora, sobre Bill, que montou a Batcaverna da foto, ele não é apenas um modelista. Bill é, nas suas próprias palavras, um "profissional da computação, entusiasta de motocicletas, designer de websites, mágico amador e cientista maluco".

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents.
I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like.
With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation.
Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years.
I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:
Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal.
Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo.
Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração.
Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos.

Germy is a British website founded in 2001 and, although there is a lot of information on the site itself, curiously I couldn't find the author's name anywhere.
With typical English humor, the author defines his own website as "The Infectious Gaming Site", but not without mistake, Germy is one of the best websites for enthusiasts of wargames, boardgames, RPGs and the like.
Regarding the dungeons that I take the liberty of presenting here on the blog today, the author says: - "Here are my "infamous" Dungeon floor plans. These floor plans are the original reason for having a Germy.co.uk website.
I made the original set during my Role-playing days. They even got a mention in Dragon magazine.
The original set were made by using free textures found on the web. Since then I have created a new set of floor plans using my own artwork, for a fantasy style dungeon and a red brick Victorian style cellar.

Germy é um website britânico fundado em 2001 e, apesar de haver muita informação no próprio site, curiosamente não encontrei o nome do autor em nenhum lugar.
Com um humor típico dos ingleses, o autor define seu próprio site como " O Site de Jogos Infecciosos", mas não sem enganem, Germy é um dos melhores websites para entusiastas de wargames, boardgames, RPGs e afins.
A respeitos das masmorras que tomo a liberdade de apresentar aqui no blog hoje, o autor diz: - "Aqui estão minhas "infames" plantas baixas de Masmorras. Essas plantas baixas são a razão original do site Germy.Co.Uk.
Eu criei o conjunto original durante meus dias de jogatina de RPG. Eles até foram mencionados na Dragon Magazine.
O conjunto original foi feito com texturas gratuitas encontradas na web. Desde então, criei um novo conjunto de plantas baixas usando meu próprio trabalho artístico, para uma masmorra de estilo fantasia e uma adega de tijolos vermelhos em estilo vitoriano.
A masmorra original é um arquivo .zip para download contendo diferentes folhas em PDF para cantos, junções, salas, portas, etc. Existe também uma versão como corredores de ficção científica.
