Occupying two printed sheets, this 1/300 scale paper model of the former Shimonoseki City Telephone Division building was created by Japanese designer and model maker Hazel Atsuo in the distant year 2001 on a website dedicated to the preservation of this ancient building.
Unfortunately the website is no longer active, but as I have the templates saved on my HD, I decided to share it here on the blog.
Built in 1923, the building is located in the Karato area, in the historic center of Shimonoseki. In 1999, it was saved from demolition due to a citizens' preservation movement, which managed to preserve it. Currently, the Shimonoseki Municipal Board of Education is considering how to use it in the future.
The city of Shimonoseki is located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As of 2023, the city has an estimated population of 248,193 in 128,762 households and a population density of 350 people per km2.
The total area of the city is 716.18 square kilometers. It is the largest city in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the fifth largest city in the Chūgoku region in terms of population.
It is nicknamed "Fugu Capital (pufferfish in Japanese)" because it is the largest fishing city distributing this species of fish in Japan.
Ocupando duas folhas impressas, este modelo de papel na escala 1/300 do antigo prédio da Divisão de Telefonia da Cidade de Shimonoseki foi criado pela designer e modelista japonesa Hazel Atsuo no longinquo ano de 2001 em um website dedicado a preservação deste antigo prédio.
Infelizmente o website não está mais ativo, mas como eu tenho os templates salvos em meu HD, resolvi compartilhá-lo aqui no blog.
