A Dutch Neo-Renaisance Townhouse Paper Model - by Herbert Verhey

This beautiful miniature paper model of a Dutch house in a Neo-Renaissance style in 1/200 scale was created by the designer and modeler Herbert Verhey, from Bali, Indonesia. Mr. Hervey kindly emailed me the template and gave me permission to post it on the blog. I then asked him to write some lines for the post and you can read them below: 

"Back in the day, my dad used to bring home paper-models from his business trips. A4 cards with aircraft and cars. These were such a pleasure to make that I kept making paper-models, even during my student days. When I later had children myself, I made many paper-models with them with great pleasure, including those from the papermau blog. 

They still cherish the models that survived the time. I also constructed some new paper-models for them, using construction drawings and pictures as a source, to make it as realistic as possible. One such paper-model is this 19 century Rotterdam townhouse. I updated it with a few more details and added some instructions, and hope others will enjoy this paper-model as much as we did.

Este belo modelo de papel em miniatura de uma casa holandesa em estilo neo-renascentista na escala 1/200 foi criada pelo designer e modelista Herbert Verhey, de Bali, Indonésia. O Sr. Hervey gentilmente enviou-me via e-mail o modelo e deu-me autorização para publicá-lo no blog. Eu pedi então que ele escrevesse algumas linhas para a postagem e você pode lê-las abaixo: 

"Antigamente, meu pai costumava trazer modelos de papel para casa de suas viagens de negócios. Cartões A4 com aviões e carros. Foi um prazer tão grande fazer que continuei fazendo modelos de papel, mesmo durante meus dias de estudante. Mais tarde, quando eu mesmo tive filhos, fiz muitos modelos de papel com eles com grande prazer, incluindo os do blog papermau. 

Eles ainda valorizam os modelos que sobreviveram ao tempo. Também construí alguns novos modelos de papel para eles, usando desenhos de construção e imagens como fonte, para torná-los o mais realistas possível. Um desses modelos de papel é esta casa geminada de Rotterdam do século XIX. Eu o atualizei com mais alguns detalhes e adicionei algumas instruções, e espero que outros gostem deste modelo de papel tanto quanto nós.

This detailed paper model version in 1/200 scale of the WW2`s Japanese Submarine Aircraft Carrier I-400-Class is offered by Paper Model Studio, Japanese website. The I-400-class submarines from Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) were the largest submarines of World War II and remained the largest ever built until the construction of nuclear ballistic missile submarines in the 1960s. They were submarine aircraft carriers able to carry three Aichi M6A Seiran aircraft underwater to their destinations. They were designed to surface, launch their planes, then quickly dive again before they were discovered. They also carried torpedoes for close-range combat. They are considered the strategic predecessors to today’s ballistic submarines, especially to the Regulus missile program begun about a decade after World War II. The I-400 class was designed with the range to travel anywhere in the world and return. A fleet of 18 boats was planned in 1942, and work started on the first in January 1943 at the Kure, Hiroshima arsenal.
