I Built The Japanese Shinkai Sansha Shinto Shrine Paper Model

I built the Shinkai Sansha Shinto Shrine paper model, offered by Prefecture Of Suita website.

The complete model occupies only two sheets of paper, more one for instructions and measures (printed in A4 format) 10cms high, 10 cm wide and 8 cm long, without considering the base.

I had done a post about this model here on the blog, with a little of the history of the temple and the link to see it is just below the end of this post.

There you will also find the link to download and build your own shrine.

Shinkai Sansha Shinto Shrine Paper Model - by Prefecture Of Suita

This paper model was based on a sanctuary that actually exists and is an important Japanese architectural monument of Muromachi Period.

The Muromachi Period, also known as the Muromachi era, the Ashikaga era, or the Ashikaga period, is a division of Japanese history running from approximately 1337 to 1573

The period marks the governance of the Muromachi or Ashikaga shogunate (Muromachi bakufu or Ashikaga bakufu), which was officially established in 1338 by the first Muromachi shogun, Ashikaga Takauji, two years after the brief Kemmu restoration (1333–1336) of imperial rule was brought to a close.

The period ended in 1573 when the 15th and last shogun of this line, Ashikaga Yoshiaki, was driven out of the capital in Kyoto by Oda Nobunaga.
