The Rocca Possente Fortress In Stellata Paper Model - by Teodom

This beautiful paper model version of the Rocca Possente Fortress was created by Italian designer and modeler Teodom. Built in around the year 1000, it was extended and reinforced by the Este family in 1362. Its strategic position on the Po together with that of the Rocca di Ficarolo on the opposite bank to which it was connected by a chain, meant control over navigation. It was destroyed in 1521 but quickly rebuilt. Its peculiar walls at a slant gave better protection against enemy artillery. The star-shaped layout probably dates back to 1570 and it is this characteristic form that gave the name to the village of Stellata.

Este belo modelo de papel da Fortaleza de Rocca Possente foi criada pelo designer e modelista italiano Teodom. A Rocca Possente foi construída por volta do ano 1000, ampliada e reforçada pela família Este em 1362. Sua posição estratégica no Po, juntamente com a fortaleza da Rocca di Ficarolo, na margem oposta à qual estava ligada por uma cadeia, significava controle sobre a navegação. Foi destruída em 1521, mas rapidamente reconstruída. Suas paredes peculiares inclinadas proporcionavam melhor proteção contra a artilharia inimiga. O layout em forma de estrela provavelmente remonta a 1570 e é essa forma característica deu o nome à vila de Stellata.

This beautiful and detailed paper model of a Hymenopus Coronatus was created by Japanese designer Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart, commissioned by Canon website. Hymenopus Coronatus, also called H. bicornis, is a mantis from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It is known by various common names including walking flower mantis and (pink) orchid mantis. It is one of several species known as flower mantises from their resemblance and behaviour. In the wild, H. coronatus can be found in Indonesia.

Hymenopus Coronatus, também chamado de H. bicornis, é um Louva-Deus das florestas tropicais do Sudeste Asiático. É conhecido por vários nomes comuns, incluindo Louva-Deus de Flores e Orquídeas. É uma das várias espécies conhecidas como mantises de flores a partir de sua semelhança e comportamento.
