2018`s Year Of The Dog Paper Toy - by Mak - via Paper Modelers

The Indian designer Mak created this beautiful paper toy to celebrate the Chinese Year Of The Dog. 2018 is the Year of the Dog according to Chinese zodiac. This is a Year of Earth Dog, starting from Feb. 16, 2018 (Chinese New Year) and lasting to Feb. 4, 2019. Dog is the eleventh in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac sign. The Years of the Dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042... - Dog is man's good friend who can understand the human's spirit and obey its master, whether he is wealthy or not. The Chinese regard it as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, it symbolizes the coming of fortune. The invincible God Erlang in Chinese legend used a loyal Wolfhound to help him capture monsters.

Este é um ano do Cão-Terra, que começa em 16 de fevereiro de 2018 (ano novo chinês) e que vai até 4 de fevereiro de 2019. O cão é o décimo primeiro no ciclo de 12 anos do signo chinês do zodíaco. Created by Czech designer and modeler Michal Tichý, from PR Models website, this is the paper model version of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Memphis Belle", in 1/100 scale. Memphis Belle is the nickname of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress that was used during the Second World War that inspired the making of two motion pictures: a 1944 documentary film, Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress, and a 1990 Hollywood feature film, Memphis Belle. The aircraft was one of the first United States Army Air Forces B-17 heavy bombers to complete 25 combat missions with her crew intact. The aircraft and crew then returned to the United States to sell war bonds. As of 2017, the aircraft was being restored at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio with plans to put it on display May , 2018.

Memphis Belle é o apelido de um B-17 Flying Fortress usado durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial e que inspirou a criação de dois filmes: um documentário de 1944 e um filme em 1990. O Memphis Belle foi um dos primeiros bombardeiros pesados B-17das Forças Aéreas do Exército dos Estados Unidos a completar 25 missões de combate com sua equipe intacta. A aeronave e a tripulação foram enviados aos Estados Unidos para vender títulos de guerra. The Ephemeral Museum - Six Japanese Architectural Paper Modelsby Retro Machine Club - Assembled by Papermau

All these beautiful paper models came from the same place, the Retro Machine Club website, from Japan. 

You will find many other nice models there. These little houses in particular are great for Dioramas, RPG and Wargames.

The models, though well made, are very easy to assemble and I spent a very pleasant two hours while I built them up and saw them forming a kind of old street in a little town in Japan from the middle of the last century.

Os modelos, embora bem feitos, são bem fáceis de montar e eu passei umas duas horas bem agradáveis enquanto eu os montava e os via formando uma espécie de antiga rua de uma cidadezinha qualquer do Japão do meio do século passado.

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

Here is the Railway Warehouse, a paper model to be used in Train Sets, Dioramas, RPG and Wargames. I made the model in two versions: a simple one, with flat doors and windows and a more detailed model, with the possibility of make the doors and windows in relief. In this version of the relief model, a very commonly used technique by modelers who build railway models, is to glue the various parts into thick cardboard boards or high density Styrofoam that after cut and pasted, are with well-reinforced structure. Have fun!

Eis aqui o Armazém Ferroviário, um modelo de papel para ser usado em Maquetes Ferroviárias, Dioramas, RPG e Wargames. Eu fiz o modelo em duas versões: uma simples, com portas e janelas planas e um modelo mais detalhado, com a possibilidade de montar as portas e janelas em relevo. Nesta versão em relevo, uma técnica muito utilizada pelos modelistas que constroem maquetes ferroviárias, é colar as várias partes em pranchas de papelão grosso ou isopor de alta densidade que depois de cortadas e coladas, ficam com a estrutura bem reforçada.

This Tatebanko papercraft showing a railway scene is offered by Microsoft Japan, official website. Tatebanko is the Japanese art of making dioramas out of paper. 

Typically the diorama is housed inside a paper box and portrays some kind of scene. 

To view and print this template you must have Powerpoint installed on your computer, since the templates are in this format.

Created by Japanese designers K. Yoshinaka and STpers, comissioned by Canon website, this is the paper model version of the Notre Dame Du Haut, a Roman Catholic chapel in Ronchamp, France. Built in 1954, it is one of the finest examples of the architecture of Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier and one of the most important examples of twentieth-century religious architecture. Inspirado no videogame Smite, o designer e modelista brasileiro Adriano Rafael Rosa, aka Konsennin, criou esta fofa versão paper toy de Bellona, a Deusa da Guerra. Bellona nunca perde tempo com os adoradores que criam templos. Ela apenas favorece aqueles para quem a guerra é vida; pois é onde ela prospera - não nos degraus das basílicas sagradas ou nas orações sussurradas, mas na lama encharcada de sangue, entre as tropas blindadas sem fôlego, no rugido da vitória.
