Hauntings From Japan - Kasa-Obake And Yotsuya Ghost Paper Toysby Microsoft

"Kasa-obake is a mythical ghost or youkai in Japanese folklore. It is sometimes considered a tsukumogami that old umbrellas turn into. It is also called "karakasa-obake", "kasa-bake" and "karakasa kozō". 

It is generally an umbrella with one eye and jump around with one leg, but sometimes it have two arms or two eyes among other features, and also sometimes depicted to have a long tongue. Sometimes, but rarely, it even have two feet." 

The Ghost Of Yotsuya is a vindictive spirit. She died of disgust at being abandoned by the groom who traded her for a marriage of convenience with a wealthy woman.

Karakasa-obake ou Kasa-obake é um youkai japonês, um tsukumogami, ou seja, um espírito que origina-se de objetos com mais de 100 anos, dando-lhes vida. Os karakasa em particular são espíritos de guarda-chuvas que atingem os 100 anos. 

São geralmente representados com um olho, uma língua longa saindo de sua boca e apenas uma perna que calça uma geta, espécie de calçado japonês. Algumas vezes tem dois braços e dois olhos e raramente se apresentam com dois pés. 

O Fantasma de Yotsuya é um espírito vingativo. Ela morreu de desgosto ao ser abandonada pelo noivo que a trocou por um casamento de conveniência com uma mulher rica.

With this post I have the joy of announcing the return of the amazing website of Professor Plastik, one of the pioneers of papercraft on the web and a strong influence among many designers and modelers around the world, including me. 

The North American designer and modeler Chris, aka Professor Plastik, from Paper Empire Toys website, created all these cool paper toys in Hako style from the classic 1968`s sci-fi series Planet Of The Apes.

Com este post eu tenho a alegria de anunciar a volta do incrível webiste do Professor Plastik, um dos pioneiros do papercraft na web e forte influência entre muitos designers e modelistas de todo o mundo, incluindo eu. 

O designer e modelista norte-americano Chris, aka Professor Plastik criou todos estes paper toys muito bacanas em estilo Hako da clássica série de ficção científica de 1968, Planeta dos Macacos.

Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange, also known as Doctor Strange, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #110 (cover-dated July 1963). - This cool paper toy was created by my friend, the designer and modeler Paperized, from Paperized Crafts website.

Doutor Estranho (Doctor Strange, no original) é Stephen Vincent Strange, um dos mais originais e diferentes personagens dos quadrinhos americanos, e o mago supremo do Universo Marvel. Ele foi criado por Stan Lee e Steve Ditko na década de sessenta. Sua primeiríssima aparição foi na revista Strange Tales , edição 110, de julho de 1963. Este paper toy bem bacana foi criado pelo meu amigo, o designer e modelista Paperized, do site Paperized Crafts.

The Prisoner - BMC Mini Moke Papercraft - by Dave`s Card Creations

This great little model of the BMC Mini Moke, as it appears on The Prisoner, the classic tv series from the 1960`s, was created by North American designer and modeler Dave Winfield, from Dave`s Card Creations website. Looking at the model above, it's hard to believe that all this detailing is on a tiny 1/64 scale, the same as the famous Hot Wheels miniatures.

Este pequeno grande modelo do BMC Mini Moke, tal qual ele aparece na clássica série policial da década de 1960, O Prisioneiro, foi criado pelo designer e modelista norte-americano Dave Winfield, do site Dave`s Card Creations. Olhando para o modelo acima, é dificil acreditar que todo esse detalhamento está em uma escala minúscula de 1/64, a mesma das famosas miniaturas Hot Wheels.
