Geo Maru And Nunokawa Paper Toy Mascots - by Itogawa Geopark

These cute paper toys are the mascots of Itogawa Geopark, in Japan. The little globe is Geo Maru and his two colors represent the Itoigawa-Shizuoka Tectonic Line, that is a major fault on Honshu island that runs from the city of Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture, through Lake Suwa to the city of Shizuoka in Shizuoka Prefecture

It is often confused with Fossa Magna which lies to the east. Recent surveys show that this failure has a 30% chance to cause a major earthquake in the next 30 years.

The little doll is Nuna and she is based on the legendary goddess and Princess of Itoigawa, Nunakawa

She is a friendly, caring, and wise princess, with a great love for Itoigawa, the Jade Kingdom, and her subjects who live there.

This very well done paper model version of the Maritime Self-Defense Force Aegis Destroyer Kongo was created by Japanese designer Kushimaru, from Paper Model Studio website. - JDS Kongo (DDG-173) is a Kongo class guided missile destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Kongo is the third Japanese naval vessel named for Mount Kongo. She was laid down by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Nagasaki on 8 May 1990, launched on 26 September 1991; and commissioned on 25 March 1993. In December 2007, Japan conducted a successful test of the SM-3 block IA against a ballistic missile aboard Kongo. This was the first time a Japanese ship was selected to launch the interceptor missile during a test of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System. In previous tests they provided tracking and communications. - Kushimaru says there is not an exact scale, but is something about 1/270.

Japanese Ferry Boat Paper Model In HO Scale - by Barrack Model

This beautiful paper model of a Ferry Boat was created by a Japanese designer, author of the blog Barrack Model. Unfortunately I could not find his name anywhere in his blog. This model is based in a real ferry boat wich serves the region of Onomichi, in Japan. In the text, there is also no reference to the model scale but looking at the pictures I am pretty sure that is HO scale (1/87 scale). You will need three sheets of paper to build your own Onomichi Ferry Boat.

Siberian Chipmunk Paper Model - by Konika Minolta

The Siberian Chipmunk or common chipmunk (Eutamias sibiricus) appears across northern Asia from central Russia to China, Korea, and Hokkaidō in northern Japan. The Siberian Chipmunk was imported from South Korea and introduced in Europe as a pet in the 1960s. It is the only chipmunk found outside North America, and this animal is classed either as the only living member of the genus Eutamias, or as a member of a genus including all chipmunks. This realistic paper model of a Siberian Chipmunk is offered by Konika Minolta, Japanese website.

Photobucket Is Back And Papermau Is Alive And Well!

Well, it seems it was just a scare. This morning, turn on my computer and go online, I saw that Photobucket had been repaired and all blog images were appearing properly. After four years posting daily (and when I say every day is not figurative, for each day of the four years, there is at least one post), yesterday I was astonished to see all that work almost go down the drain. Not that this blog is relevant to important things in life, it's just a personal blog that talks about a fleeting hobby and considered by many "nerd stuff". It takes patience for this hobby. You have to enjoy being with yourself, and during that time, you can organize your thoughts. Works well for me, at least. It's good therapy, and almost free. Well, I've said too much, we will continue with what really matters. I illustrate this post with some models I've been doing. Some will become paper models and will be posted here on the blog, some not. Finally, I would like to thank the friends who gave their support to the blog with kind words and ideas to work around problems with Photobucket. Unfortunately some of them left their comments as anonymous, so I can only thank everyone generally. Thank you very much! Thanks to Aldo too! Let's blogging!

 photo papermau.projects.2016.01_zpsgh5qvv2x.jpg

Thanks to Aldo too! Vamos bloggar!

Photobucket Is Down And Papermau Lost Almost All Images...

Almost all the images in this blog are hosted on Photobucket. And I paid to Photobucket for this service. Unfortunately Photobucket is down at the moment and all blog images are gone. This problem has persisted since last night and there is no service normalization expected and I do not even know if the images come back or gone forever. The only images that appear are hosted on own Blogger service. I hope that with the standardization of services Photobucket images also come back, because I will not have patience or time to redo all the damage. If the images gone, the blog ends.

That's it. Good night to all friends of the blog.

Mauther

...............................................................................................................................................................

Mauther
