R.O.B The Mascot Robot Paper Model - by Joshua1533 - via Pepakura Gallery

R.O.B. (short for Robotic Operating Buddy) is an accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System who made appearances in a few Mario games as a character. In Japan, it was known as the Famicom Robot, which was short for Family Computer Robot. This nice paper model was created by designer Joshua1533 and posted at Pepakura Gallery. R.O.B. (abreviatura em inglês de Companheiro Robótico Operacional) é um acessório para o antigo videogame Nintendo Entertainment System, que fez aparições em alguns jogos do Mario como um personagem. No Japão, ele era conhecido como Robô Famicom e sua versão física era usada em conjunto com o aparelho de videogame. Joides Resolution Research Ship Paper Model - by Ocean Leadership

This easy-to-assemble paper model of a Research Boat, the Joides Resolution, was originally offered until 2014 on a website called Ocean Leadership. 

The template is no longer available there, but as I had the templates saved on my HD, I decided to share it via Google Drive. 

The entire model takes up just two printed sheets and, although the instructions are written and not illustrated, it is very easy to assemble. 

The Joides Resolution is a research vessel that drills into the ocean floor to collect and study core samples. 

Scientists use data from the JR to better understand climate change, geology and Earth’s history. It is a part of the International Ocean Discovery Program and is funded by the National Science Foundation.

Este modelo de papel bem fácil de montar de um Barco de Pesquisas, o Joides Resolution, era originalmente oferecido até 2014 em um website chamado Ocean Leadership. 

O modelo já não se encontra disponível lá, mas como eu tinha os templates salvos em meu HD, resolvi compartilhá-lo via Google Drive. 

O modelo todo ocupa apenas duas folhas impressas e, apesar de as instruções serem escritas e não ilustradas, é bem fácil de montar. 

O Joides Resolution é um navio de pesquisa que perfura o fundo do oceano para coletar e estudar amostras nucleares. 

Os cientistas utilizam dados do JR para compreender melhor as alterações climáticas, a geologia e a história da Terra. Faz parte do Programa Internacional de Descoberta do Oceano e é financiado pela National Science Foundation.

Visiting Paper Modelers forum, I came across the sad news of the death of the great Italian designer and modeler Fabrizio Prudenziati. When I started getting interested in paper models soon caught my attention the creations of Mr. Prdenziati. Zio Prudenzio with equal mastery dominated the art of shaping using only paper, from human figures to the most complex vehicles, boats and airplanes. With the same genius he created houses and castles and board games and kindly shared them with everyone. On his website, hidden in the Index, there is a little text written by Fabrizio, where he tells us a little about his life. I took the liberty to reproduce it here in this post, because I am sure that many who visit his site and download his models did not find this text, blinded by the sheer beauty of his work.

Fabrizio Prudenziati - 1946-2014

"My name is Fabrizio Prudenziati and I was born at October 8 th 1946 in Treviso from a Venetian family of good traditions. My father's transfer, official of the State, in 1949 in Genoa has made me a Genoese of adoption. Completed the studies I have spent some and intense years in Marina Militare as young hopeful officer , then I have landed to the Office of the Department of the Customs (now Agency of the Customs), where, after having holded for 12 years the role of chief of the Office Computer Services of the Customs Area in Genoa, I am now retired. I still live in Genoa and I think that (to proper time) in Genoa, I will die. Soon widower, re-married and divorcé (at times I think that I should write a book of memories) I have a beautiful daughter, a marvelous fiancée, few but good friends and, generally, what a reasonable person can desire. Model maker of race, since from the infancy I have reached all the fields of the dynamic and static modelling with always equal passion. In 1976 I have founded in Genoa the firm "GRIFO" and I have created the first lead toy-soldiers . In 1977 I have founded and presided the ACCADEMIA GENOVESE DI MODELLISMO E COLLEZIONISMO, an extraordinary Association that boasted among her members names as Rocchiero, Frizzi, Ruggeri, Luppi, Jula and others. In 1978, abandoned to her destiny the GRIFO, I founded with Jula the firm "ARES" and I created the toy-soldiers up to 1984, year when the loss of my wife has deprived me of the necessary enthusiasm to continue this activity. I now devote me, almost exclusively, to the paper-models (toy-soldiers particularly) dusting off the ancient passion for this poor but exciting modelling, that has characterized the years of my infancy. If I finish saying to be fat and bald I would lie, because I am not bald."

Visitando o Forum Paper Modelers, deparei-me com a notícia do falecimento do grande designer e modelista italiano Fabrizio Prudenziati. Quando eu comecei a me interessar por modelismo em papel, logo me chamou a atenção as criações do Sr. Prudenziati. Zio Prudenzio dominou com igual maestria a arte de moldar apenas usando papel, desde figuras humanas até os mais complexos veículos automotores, barcos e aviões. Com a mesma genialidade ele criou casas e castelos e jogos de tabuleiro e gentilmente os compartilhou com todos. Em seu site, escondido no Index, há este pequeno texto escrito por Fabrizio, onde ele nos conta um pouco de sua vida. eu tomei a liberdade de reproduzí-lo aqui neste post, pois tenho certeza que muitos que visitam seu site e fazem download de seus modelos, não repararam neste texto, cegados pela enorme beleza de seu trabalho.


"Meu nome é Fabrizio Prudenziati e eu nasci no dia 8 de Outubro de 1946, em Treviso, em uma família tradicional veneziana. Fabricante de miniaturas de corrida , na infância eu enveredei por todos os campos da modelagem dinâmica e estática, sempre com a mesma paixão. Em 1976 fundei em Gênova a empresa "GRIFO" e criei a minha primeira série de soldados de brinquedo. Em 1977 fundei e presidi a ACCADEMIA GENOVESE DI Modellismo E Collezionismo , uma associação extraordinária que ostentava entre seus membros nomes como Rocchiero , Frizzi , Ruggeri , Luppi , Jula e outros. Em 1978, abandonei a seu destino a GRIFO , e fundei com Jula a empresa "Ares" e continuei criando miniaturas de soldados até 1984 , ano em que a perda da minha esposa privou-me do entusiasmo necessário para continuar essa atividade. Eu agora dedico-me quase exclusivamente aos modelos de papel (em particular, aos soldados de papel), tirando assim a poeira de uma paixão antiga por esta humilde, mas emocionante forma de modelismo, que marcou os anos da minha infância. Se eu terminasse aqui dizendo que sou gordo e careca, eu estaria mentindo, porque eu não sou careca."
