A cute paper model of an Orangutan, created by
Japanese designer Katsuyuki Shiga and posted at

The orangutan is a member of the ape family, and
its name is derived from the
Malay expression for "person of the forest." Orangutans have
long, reddish-brown hair and mainly live in forests, making their
homes in the tops of tall trees. They live mainly on
fruits such as figs and durian, but also eat leaves, tree bark, nuts, termites, and insects. While
other apes make their habitats in Africa, the
orangutan can only be found in Sumatra and Borneo in Southeast Asia. The
orangutan is currently designated as an endangered species due to rapid depletion of Southeast Asian rainforests. -

membro da família dos símios, e
seu nome é derivado da expressão malaia para "pessoa da floresta." Orangotangos têm
pelagem castanho-avermelhada e vivem principalmente em
florestas, fazendo seus ninhos nos topos das árvores altas. Eles vivem principalmente de
frutas, como figos e durian, mas também comem folhas, cascas de árvores, nozes, cupins e insetos. Enquanto
outros macacos tem seus habitats na África, o
orangotango só pode ser encontrada em Sumatra e Bornéu, no Sudeste Asiático. O orangotango é atualmente considerado como uma espécie em extinção devido ao rápido esgotamento das florestas tropicais do sudeste asiático. -
