JMSDF Landing Craft Utility-2001 Class Paper Model - by Masayu-i

This very well done paper model of the Landing Craft Utility-2001 Class, used by Japan Maritime Self Defense Force, was created by designer Masayu-i. The Landing Craft Utility (LCU) is a type of boat used by amphibious forces to transport equipment and troops to the shore. They are capable of transporting tracked or wheeled vehicles and troops from amphibious assault ships to beachheads or piers.

Este modelo de papel muito bem feito do Landing Craft Utility-2001 Class, usado pelas Forças Marítimas de Auto-Defesa do Japão, foi criado pelo designer Masayu-i. O Landing Craft Utility (LCU) é um tipo de embarcação utilizada por forças anfíbias para transportar equipamentos e soldados para a costa. Eles são capazes de transportar tropas e também tanques e outros veículos, dos navios de assalto até uma praia ou pier.

The "Canoa" Of Punta Umbría Paper Model - by President Adams

Created by Spanish desginer and modeler President Adams, from Las Maquetas de Mamarro website, this is the paper model version of the "Canoa" of Punta Umbría , a passenger boat that covers the journey between Huelva and Punta Umbría (Andalusia, Spain) through the Estuary of Odiel, called so populary in Huelva`s area. These boats appeared around 1910 to cover this route connecting Huelva with the beach of Punta Umbría, in that time unacessible by land.

Criado pelo designer e modelista espanhol President Adams, do site Las Maquetas de Mamarro, esta é a versão em papel da "Canoa" de Punta Umbría, um barco de passageiros que cobre a viagem entre Huelva e Punta Umbría (Andaluzia, Espanha) pelo estuário de Odiel, tão popular na área de Huelva. Esses barcos apareceram por volta de 1910 para cobrir esta rota que liga Huelva à praia de Punta Umbría, naquele tempo inacessível por terra.

Satsuma was a semi-dreadnought type battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, designed and built in Japan by the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal. The name Satsuma comes from Satsuma Province, now a part of Kagoshima prefecture. Satsuma was the first ship in the world to be designed and laid down as an all-big-gun battleship, although gun shortages caused HMS Dreadnought to be the first one to be completed. She was also the largest battleship in the world at the time of her launch, which was witnessed by Emperor Meiji. After commissioning at Yokosuka on March 25, 1906, Satsuma was assigned to the IJN 1st Fleet. The Satsuma was launched on November 15, 1906 and later participated in World War I, patrolling the sea lanes south of Japan, in the South China Sea and the Yellow Sea, and assisting in the occupation of the former German Caroline Islands, and in the Battle of Tsingtao. After the war, Satsuma was used as a support vessel, to cover the landings of Japanese troops in Russia during Japan's Siberian Intervention. Satsuma was scrapped to comply with the provisions of the 1922 Washington Treaty, and was used as a target, being sunk by gunfire 30 nautical miles (56 km) northeast of Miyakejima from the Kongō and Hyūga on September 7, 1924. - Wikipedia

The Real Thing

Satsuma era um navio semi-couraçado de batalha da Marinha Imperial Japonesa, projetado e construído no Japão pela Yokosuka Arsenal Naval. Satsuma foi o primeiro navio no mundo a ser concebido e definido como um navio de guerra "armado até os dentes", embora a escassez de armas fez com que o navio norte-americano HMS Dreadnought fosse o primeiro dessa casse a ser concluído. Ele também foi o maior navio de guerra do mundo em sua época, o que foi testemunhado pelo imperador Meiji. Após ser lançado ao mar em Yokosuka, no dia 25 de março de 1906, Satsuma foi designado para a primeira frota da Marinha Imperial Japonesa. O Satsuma foi lançado no dia 15 novembro de 1906 e mais tarde participou da primeira Guerra Mundial, patrulhando as rotas marítimas ao sul do Japão, no Mar da China Meridional e do Mar Amarelo, e ajudar na ocupação das antigas Ilhas Carolinas alemães, e na Batalha de Tsingtao.
