Sur La Route French Vintage Paper Model - by SarienSpiderDroid / Agence Eureka

Model Assembled and Photo by SarienSpiderDroid

The reason I put two names as responsible for this post is based on the fact that one of them assembled the model (SarienSpiderDroi) and the other (Agence Eureka) preserved and shared the model. I think so I am being fair to both.
As I've said before in another post, half the fun is finding the model in question among many other beautiful old models at Agence Eureka`s Photo Album.

1970`s Mclaren M23 Formula 1 Paper Model - by Kamino Ana

 photo mclaren23_zps73532ef1.jpg

photo mclaren236bgfgffg_zps96738c27.jpgThe McLaren M23 was a Formula One racing car designed by Gordon Coppuck, with input from John Barnard, and built by the McLaren team. It was a development of the McLaren M16 Indianapolis 500 car. A Ford Cosworth DFV engine was used, which was prepared by specialist tuning company Nicholson Engines. This helped push the DFV's horsepower output to around 490 bhp. It was introduced for the 1973 season, and scored pole position with Denny Hulme on its very first outing. Hulme and Peter Revson took three wins between them that season, while rookie Jody Scheckter nearly added a fourth. Scheckter was responsible for one of the biggest accidents Formula One has ever seen, at the 1973 British Grand Prix, when he spun his M23 in front of the pack. Emerson Fittipaldi joined McLaren from Lotus in 1974. His knowledge of the Lotus 72 helped McLaren develop the M23 and that season Fittipaldi gave McLaren its first drivers' and constructors' world championships, beating Ferrari, Tyrrell and Lotus. - Wikipedia

- Wikipedia

Vintage Japanese Jumping Dog Game Papercraft - by Yume Omochae

I posted this vintage Japanese paper model here on the blog in May 2013. It came from a website called Yume Omochae, which unfortunately no longer exists.

Since I had the template saved on my old CDs, I decided to repost it by hosting the file on Google Drive.

I didn't have any information about this template, such as who created it or the year it was made. Using Google Translator, I only managed to get a few words, like "sweet times" and "May". Well, in May I already knew that in Japan they celebrate "Kodomo no Hi," also known as Children's Day or Boys' Festival.

There are several posts published on this blog with this theme. Just search for the tags "Japanese," "culture," and "kids."

It is a day dedicated to celebrating and honoring children, especially boys, wishing them health, happiness, and success in their future lives. During Kodomo no Hi, families display colorful carp streamers called "koinobori," which represent wishes for strength and courage for boys.

Samurai helmets, swords, and other objects associated with the warrior tradition are also displayed, symbolizing bravery and protection. It is a day to value and appreciate children and promote their healthy and happy growth.

As for the time it was published, I noticed that the children's clothes are in a Western style and the boy's outfit is a sailor suit. Further research revealed that Japanese children wore sailor-style clothes during the period known as the "Meiji Era" in Japan, which took place between 1868 and 1912.

During this time, there was significant modernization and Westernization in the country, including the adoption of certain elements of Western fashion.

Sailor-style clothes were inspired by the attire of European sailors and became popular as school uniforms for boys and girls during the Meiji Era and beyond.

These clothes were characterized by blouses with sailor collar-style collars and flaps, paired with shorts or matching skirts. The tradition of wearing sailor-style uniforms in Japanese schools is still observed to this day.
