Transformers - Optimus Prime Articulated Robot Paper Toy by Paper Transformers

Directly from Transformers universe, this ingenious articulated paper toy of Optimus Prime was created by a Japanese designer, and unfortunately, I couldn't find any information about it, not even its name. 

Their website is simple and straightforward, and the homepage leads us directly to the links of the models. 

There are no texts, or rather, there is only a small text stating that "if you have just a pair of scissors and a rubber band, you can do it." 

What it means is that the models are easy to assemble and do not require any special tools. With just a pair of scissors, some rubber bands (and glue, it can be school glue), you can, following the provided instructions, build your own articulated Optimus Prime. 

As you can see in the images, once assembled, you have an Optimus Prime that transforms into a truck and vice versa.

O seu website é simples e direto e a página principal nos leva diretamente aos links dos modelos. 

Não há textos, ou melhor, há apenas um pequeno texto informando que "se você tiver apenas uma tesoura e um elástico, você consegue." 

O que ele quer dizer é que os modelos são fáceis de montar e não exigem nenhuma ferramenta especial. Com apenas uma tesoura, alguns elásticos (e cola, pode ser do tipo escolar), você pode, a partir das instruções fornecidas, construir seu próprio Optimus Prime articulado. 

Como vocês podem ver nas imagens, depois de montado, você tem um Optimus Prime que se transforma em caminhão e vice-versa.

Galaxy Holy Warrior - Space Battle Cruiser Satania Paper Model by Sci-Fi Papercraft - Link Revised

Created by Japanese designer and model maker Shunichi Makino, from the website Sci-Fi Papercraft, here is a very well made and detailed paper model of the Space Cruiser Satania from the 1979 book "Galaxy Holy Warrior", by science fiction writer Koji Tanaka. 

This spaceship was designed by Naoyuki Kato, one of the world's most respected science fiction painters and Mr. Makino papercrafted the Satania with Mr. Kato's permission. 

As the book's illustrations do not show all parts of the spacecraft, Mr. Kato allowed Mr. Makino to create them using his own imagination. The result was incredible, wasn't it? 

The entire model occupies ten printed sheets, including the display stand and there are no instructions, but the model is not difficult to assemble and the parts are named by letters followed by numbers, so the assembly follows a logic like this: piece A1 is glued to the piece A2, which in turn is glued to piece A3 and so on.

In "Galaxy Holy Warrior", a science fiction novel by Koji Tanaka, the Space Cruiser Satania is a powerful and iconic warship. It is commanded by the protagonist of the story, Captain Hayato Ichimonji.

Criado pelo designer e modelista japonês Shunichi Makino, do site Sci-Fi Papercraft, eis aqui um modelo de papel muito bem feito e detalhado do Cruzador Espacial Satania do livro de 1979 "Galaxy Holy Warrior", do escritor de ficção científica Koji Tanaka. 

Esta nave espacial foi projetada por Naoyuki Kato, um dos pintores de ficção científica mais respeitados do mundo e o Sr. Makino fez o papercraft do Satania com a permissão do Sr. Kato.

The Ephemeral Museum - Batcave Playset Diorama Paper Model Assembled by Bill Thompson

A few days ago I published (or rather, republished, as the original link had expired) here on the blog a diorama/playset of the Batcave, the version that appeared in the 1966 Batman television series, created by British designer Philip Lawrence, from Action Figure Theater website. 

I received some emails saying that instructions or assembly tips would be welcome, as the parts are not numbered and there is no type of guidance other than a 3D image. 

Well, I found this model of the Batcave put together by an American modeler called Bill Thompson and as you can see, he did an incredible job, didn't he? 

From this photo I believe that friends interested in assembling their own Batcave will have fewer difficulties, as it is very clear where the various pieces designed by Mr. Lawrence go. The link to download the Batcave will be below, at the end of this post. 

Now, about Bill, who assembled the Batcave in the photo, he is not just a model maker. Bill is, in his own words, a "computer professional, motorcycle enthusiast, website designer, amateur magician and mad scientist." 

He has a really nice website called Weird Fantastic Toys Adventures (print screen below), which, also in his words, "is a diary chronicling the adventures of my toys and anything else that might be on my mind. If you love toys, cartoons, comics, movies, TV shows, pop culture, and Gen X nostalgia from the '70s and '80s, then this is the place for you!"

Há alguns dias atrás eu publiquei (ou melhor, republiquei, já que o link original havia caducado) aqui no blog um diorama/playset da Batcaverna, a versão que aparecia no seriado televisivo do Batman de 1966, criação do designer britânico Philip Lawrence, do site Action Figure Theatre. 

Recebi alguns e-mails dizendo que instruções ou dicas de montagem seriam bem vindas, já que as peças não são numeradas e não há nenhum tipo de orientação a não ser uma imagem em 3D. 

Bem, encontrei este modelo da Batcaverna montado por um modelista americano chamado Bill Thompson e como vocês podem ver, ele fez um trabalho incrível, não é mesmo? 

A partir desta foto eu creio que os amigos interessados em montar sua própria Batcaverna terão menos dificuldades, já que fica bem claro aonde vão as várias peças desenhadas pelo Sr. Lawrence. O link para baixar a Batcaverna estará logo abaixo, no final deste post. 

Agora, sobre Bill, que montou a Batcaverna da foto, ele não é apenas um modelista. Bill é, nas suas próprias palavras, um "profissional da computação, entusiasta de motocicletas, designer de websites, mágico amador e cientista maluco".

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. 

I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. 

With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. 

Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years.

I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. 

Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. 

Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. 

Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. 

Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

Shikigami Wars - Rikugou - A Robot With Removable Armor Paper Toyby Brother

Offered by the Japanese version of Brother website, this paper toy of Rikugou, a robot with removable armor, is part of a series of robots with the same characteristics and seems to belong to a game that, despite having tried, I simply couldn't understand how. plays. 

 What I could understand is that all the robots (there are eight in total) use the same base (link at the end of the post) and what changes are the armor. 

I was also able to find out that each character's armor pieces can be mixed, which influences the defense and attack strength of each robot in the game. 

Even without understanding the rules of the game, paper toys are really cool and I'm sure they will please fans of robots and papercrafts with a Sci-Fi theme.

Oferecido pela versão japonesa do site da Brother, este paper toy de Rikugou, um robô com armadura removível é parte de uma série de robôs com as mesmas características e parecem pertencer a um jogo que eu, apesar de ter tentado, simplesmente não consegui entender como se joga. 

O que pude entender é que todos os robôs (são oito no total) usam a mesma base (link no final do post) e o que muda são as armaduras. 

Também pude apurar que as peças das armaduras de cada personagem podem ser misturadas, o que influi na força de defesa e ataque de cada robô no jogo. 

Mesmo sem entender as regras do jogo, os paper toys são muito legais e tenho certeza que agradarão os fãs de robôs e papercrafts com temática Sci-Fi.

Batman - Batcave Playset Diorama Paper Model In 1/12 Scale by Action Figure Theatre - Link Revised

Created by British designer Philip Lawrence, from Action Figure Theatre website, this playset/diorama papercraft represents the interior of the Batcave, as it appears on the cult 1966`s tv series Batman. 

When printed in A4 format, this diorama fits perfect for 5" (1/12 scale) action figures.

Criado pelo designer britânico Philip Lawrence, do site Action Figure Theatre, este playset/diorama de papel representa o interior da Batcaverna, tal qual ela aparece na cultuada série de tv Batman, de 1966. 

Quando impresso em formato A4, este diorama é perfeito para figuras de ação em 5" (escala 1/12).
