Malayan Tapir Miniature Paper Model - by Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart

Taking up just two sheets of paper, this miniature Puma Macho was created by Japanese designer Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart, commissioned by Canon website. 

This paper model is part of the Real Animals Series and on the website it is said that it represents a male tapir, walking, implying that there will be a female version and perhaps a baby version in different poses. 

My thanks to my friend Jo Kizinger from the USA for this beautiful find.

Ocupando apenas duas folhas de papel, este Puma Macho em miniatura foi criado pelo designer japonês Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart , comissionado pelo site da Canon.

Este modelo de papel faz parte da Série Animais Reais e no site é dito que ele representa uma Anta macho, andando, dando a entender que virá uma versão fêmea e talvez uma versão filhote.

Japanese Vegetables Papercraft Collection - by Sasatoku

Sasatoku is a Japanese company based in the city of Toyoake, Aichi Prefecture, which offers graphic services and operates domestically (Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka) and abroad (China, Indonesia). 

Sasatoku has a strategy that I find very friendly to promote his services, which is the creation and sharing of free papercrafts.

The collection is huge and ranges from paper toys for children, letters of the alphabet in the shape of animals and everyday objects (for the English language), flowers and vegetables (as presented in this post), cards for commemorative dates, gift boxes, even models decorative paper pieces that reflect the traditional culture of Japan. 

In this post I highlight the papercraft collection of vegetables widely used in Japanese cuisine, which can be printed in full size and can be used as decoration or for children to play with. You will find spinach, turnip, beans (Saya pea), bamboo shoots, Japanese dokkatsu orchid (asparagus), kwai, eggplant, green pepper, myoga (Japanese ginger), pumpkin, lotus root and carrot.

Sasatoku é uma empresa japonesa com sede na cidade de Toyoake, província de Aichi, que oferece serviços gráficos e opera no mercado interno (Tóquio, Yokohama, Osaka) e no exterior (China, Indonésia). 

Ele tem uma estratégia que eu considero muito simpática para promover seus serviços que é a criação e compartilhamento gratuíto de papercrafts. 

A coleção é enorme e vai desde paper toys para crianças, letras do alfabeto em forma de animais e objetos cotidianos (para a língua inglesa), flores e vegetais (como apresentados neste post), cartões para datas comemorativas, caixas de presentes, até modelos de papel decorativos que remetem a cultura tradicional do Japão. 

Neste post destaco a coleção de papercrafts de vegetais muito usados na culinária japonesa, que podem ser impressos no tamanho real e podem ser usados como decoração ou para as crianças brincarem. Você vai encontrar espinafre, nabo, feijão (ervilha Saya), brotos de bambu, orquídea japonesa dokkatsu (aspargos), kwai, berinjela, pimentão verde, myoga (gengibre japonês), abóbora, raiz de lótus e cenoura.

Rare Animals of Japan - Hondo Stoat Paper Model - by Yamaha

The Hondo Stoat, belonging to the weasel family, is a carnivorous mammal that inhabits alpine areas from Chubu, central Japan, northwards to Aomori Prefecture in Honshu, the main island of Japan.

It is affectionately nicknamed the “Mountain Fairy” for its cute appearance, but it is a rare animal classified as “Near Threatened” on the Red List. 

On the official website of Yamaha Japan you will find the Hondo Stoat papercraft in three versions. Two of them correspond to the real seasonal changes of the Hondo Stoat's coat during summer and winter and the other is a version without colors, so you can print on textured paper, giving the papercraft a unique effect.

O Arminho Hondo, pertencente à família das doninhas, é um mamífero carnívoro que habita zonas alpinas desde Chubu, região central do Japão, em direção ao norte até a província de Aomori em Honshu, a principal ilha do Japão. 

É carinhosamente apelidado de “Fada da Montanha” por sua aparência fofa, mas é um animal raro classificado como “Quase Ameaçado” na Lista Vermelha. 

No site oficial da Yamaha do Japão você encontrará o papercraft do arminho Hondo em três versões. Duas delas correspondentes às mudanças sazonais reais da pelagem do arminho Hondo durante o verão e o inverno e a outra é uma versão sem cores, para que você imprima em papel texturizado, dando ao papercraf tum efeito único.

The Three Polar Bears - A Danish Vintage Paper Model - by Unknow Preserved and Shared by Liisa Bjork

This beautiful vintage paper diorama featuring a trio of friendly polar bears with a ship stranded in the snow in the background has been preserved, restored and is now kindly shared by Liisa Bjork, an antique papercraft collector who runs a Pinterest profile where she shares many other rare antique papercrafts. 

I don't know much about this papercraft, other than that it was printed in Denmark, as the text on the template is in Danish and I believe it was originally printed between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, but that's just a guess.

Este belo diorama de papel antigo que mostra um trio de simpáticos ursos polares com um navio encalhado na neve ao fundo foi presevado, restaurado e é agora gentilmente compartilhado por Liisa Bjork, uma colecionadora de papercrafts antigos que gerencia um perfil no Pinterest onde ela compartilha muitos outros raros papercrafts antigos. 

Eu não sei muito sobre este papercraft, a não ser que ele foi impresso na Dinamarca, pois o texto no template está em dinamarquês e creio que ele tenha sido impresoo originalmente entre o final do sécuo XIX e início do XX, mas é apenas um palpite.

The Great Solar Vehicles Papercraft Collection - by Keroliver via Le Forum En Papier

Keroliver is a French designer and model maker who creates paper models of the most varied styles and stands out for the enormous creativity and quantity of models he shares, both on his personal websites and on Forum en Papier, the biggest, best and most welcoming community of papercraft from all over Europe. 

In 2013, Keroliver created a thread on Le Forum en Papier called "Voitures Solaires", or Solar Vehicles, and from then until today in 2023 (10 years!) he shares paper models of solar vehicles, most of which are very easy to assemble and which only take up one sheet of paper each. 

I counted and found 97 models available for download so far. 

Regarding his collection, Keroliver said:- "These are paper models I made of solar vehicles, like those seen in the World Solar Challenger. 

These models are made in software called Metasequoia, Real World Paint, Pepakura and PDF995. 

These models are available for download as PDF files, free of charge and ready to be cut, folded, glued and assembled! 

Not all models are easy. My favorite scale is 1/64. I know it's small.... The latest paper models, all in 1/43 scale, start on page 5. Enjoy the challenge!"

Keroliver é um designer e modelista francês que cria modelos de papel dos mais variados estilos e que se destaca pela enorme criatividade e quantidade de modelos que ele compartilha, tanto em seus websites pessoais quanto no Forum en Papier, a maior, melhor e mais acolhedora comunidade de papercraft de toda a Europa. 

Em 2013, Keroliver criou uma thread no Le Forum en Papier chamada "Voitures Solaires", ou Veículos Solares, e desde então até hoje em 2023 (10 anos!) ele compartilha modelos de papel de veículos solares, a maioria bem fáceis de montar e que ocupam apenas uma folha de papel cada um.
