The Housesteads Roman Fort Paper Model - by English Heritage

Offered by the educational website English Heritage and spanning nine printed sheets, this is a paper miniature of the Roman Fort of Housesteads. 

Housesteads Roman Fort lies halfway along Hadrian’s Wall, built by Emperor Hadrian in the north of England as a defence against invasion from other armies or tribes. 

Hadrian’s Wall stretches from Wallsend on the River Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway, and is 80 Roman miles long (73 miles). 

15,000 men helped to build the wall, which was started in AD 122 and was mainly finished by AD 128. 

Housesteads was one of 15 forts along the length of the wall, which housed nearly 10,000 soldiers in total. Housesteads’ original Latin name was Vercovicium, meaning ‘the place of the effective fighters’. 

The fort included a barracks, hospital, granaries and communal toilets, all of which still exist today.

O Forte Romano de Housesteads fica a meio caminho da Muralha de Adriano, construído pelo imperador Adriano no norte da Inglaterra como uma defesa contra a invasão de outros exércitos ou tribos. 

A Muralha de Adriano se estende de Wallsend, no rio Tyne, a Bowness-on-Solway, e tem 80 milhas romanas de comprimento (73 milhas).

Gallo-Roman Temple Of Poppelsdorf Paper Model - by Kallboys

"About 2000 years ago, the Romans settled opposite Mondorf on the Bonn side of the Rhine. While researching more Mondorf craft sheets, the Kallboys found an article about a 2012 dig in Poppelsdorf, which belongs to Bonn.

This story was too good not to tell it again and make a Mondorfer craft sheet out of it. During the excavation, the remains of a Gallo-Roman temple were discovered.

With the support of the excavation director, it was possible to rebuild the temple as a craft sheet. The model includes 111 parts and is at a scale of 1/50." - Kallboys

"Cerca de 2000 anos atrás, os romanos se estabeleceram em frente a Mondorf, no lado de Bonn do Reno. Enquanto pesquisavam mais folhas de artesanato de Mondorf, os Kallboys encontraram um artigo sobre uma escavação de 2012 em Poppelsdorf, que pertence a Bonn. 

Essa história era boa demais para não contá-la novamente e fazer uma folha de artesanato Mondorfer com ela. Durante a escavação, foram descobertos os restos de um templo galo-romano. 

Com o apoio do diretor da escavação, foi possível reconstruir o templo como uma folha de artesanato. O modelo inclui 111 peças e está em uma escala de 1/50." - Kallboys

Hadrian's Wall Playset Paper Model For School Works, Dioramas, RPG And Wargames - by Chris Schweizer

Chris Schweizer, an Eisner Award, YALSA, and Stumptown Award-nominated cartoonist, the designer of this cool playset, said: 

"I've been reading a lot of early middle ages stuff and a lot of Roman stuff lately so I figured the best way to split the difference was to do a Roman occupation of northern Britain set.

The Roman Siege Of Jerusalem AD 70 - A Diorama Paper Modelby William Webb

What a great diorama of The Roman Siege Of Jerusalem AD 70, created by British illustrator William Webb.  Perfect for School Works, Dioramas, RPG and Wargames. 

The Roman Siege of Jerusalem saw the onslaught of 70,000 soldiers in 70 A.D. to contain a Jewish rebellion against the authority of Rome. 

The walls of Jerusalem were fabulous architectural works and their tearing down was almost impossible. Within the walls, thousands of rebellious Jews repelled the increasingly fierce attacks of the Romans. 

These, seeing that known strategies had no effect, made use of their engineers and sages to create and improve existing weapons and war artifacts, making use of all that was most modern at the time, such as catapults, mobile towers of assault and incursions from several sides at the same time, finally managing to break through the famous series of three walls that protected the city of Jerusalem. 

As a form of punishment for the resistance, and also to serve as a warning to other peoples who tried to rebel, the Romans, upon entering Jerusalem, carried out one of the greatest massacres of ancient times, killing more than 100,000 Jews and enslaving all the survivors. 

Not satisfied, they set fire to the Temple in Jerusalem, reducing it to ashes.

Que belo diorama do Cerco Romano de Jerusalém, em 70 d.C., criado pelo ilustrador britânico William Webb.  Perfeito para Trabalhos Escolares, Dioramas, RPG e Wargames. 

O Cerco Romano à Jerusalém oi a investida de 70 mil soldados, no ano 70 d.C., para conter uma rebelião dos judeus contra a autoridade de Roma.

As muralhas de Jerusalém eram obras arquitetônicas fabulosas e sua derrubada era quase impossível. Dentro das muralhas, milhares de judeus revoltosos repeliam os ataques cada vez mais ferozes dos romanos. 

Estes, vendo que estratégias conhecidas não surtiam efeito, se valeram de seus engenheiros e sábios para a criação e melhoria de armas e artefatos de guerra já existentes, fazendo uso de tudo que havia de mais moderno na época, tais como catapultas, torres móveis de assalto e incursões por vários lados ao mesmo tempo, conseguindo enfim romper a famosa série de três muralhas que protegiam a cidade de Jerusalém. 

Como uma forma de castigo pela resistência, e também para que servisse de aviso para outros povos que tentassem se rebelar, os romanos, ao adentrar Jerusalém, promoveram um dos maiores massacres do tempo antigo, matando mais de 100.000 judeus e escravizando todos os sobreviventes. 

Não satisfeitos, atearam fogo ao Templo de Jerusalém, reduzindo-o a cinzas.

Famous Disasters Miniature Paper Model Dioramas - by Spitefuls

Although these dioramas offered by the Spitefuls website were thought, according to the author, to decorate your office or cubicle, I believe they are also very useful for school works. 

For now there are eight different models, or disasters: San Francis Dam, The Boston Molasses Disaster, Apollo 13, The Great Chicago Fire, Titanic, Hindenburg, Pompeii and Sir Chackleston's Endurance (only the first part, for now).

Embora estes dioramas tenham oferecidos pelo site Spitefuls tenham sido pensados, segundo o autor, para decorar seu escritório ou cubículo, eu creio que eles também sejam bem úteis para trabalhos escolares. 

Por enquanto há oito modelos, ou desastres diferentes: San Francis Dam, The Bostom Molasses Disaster, Apollo 13, The Great Chicago Fire, Titanic, Hindenburg, Pompeii e Sir Chackleston`s Endurance (apenas a primeira parte, por enquanto).

The Ephemeral Museum - Roman Castrum In Romania Paper ModelAssembled by Bosco

My friend, the French modeler Bosco, assembled the Roman Castrum paper model and kindly sent me a photo of his beautiful work and it is my pleasure to publish it in the Ephemeral Museum. 

Bosco is an old friend of the blog and has had several works published here. 

"Thank you so much, Bosco, for the beautiful photo and the kind words you sent me by email. I wish you and all your happy holidays, good health and all good things. Greetings from Brazil to beautiful France!" - Mauther 

In the photo below you can see another work by Bosco, the Greek-Roman Ruins, published in 2011, in the first year of Papermau blog. 

Regarding this work, Bosco said: - "I built the Roman Ruins of Mauther, reduced by one third, to expose my little Christmas gift, a female brass ring, Gallo-Roman Era (imperial period, between 96 and 235 AD)".

Meu amigo, o modelista francês Bosco, montou o modelo de papel do Roman Castrum e gentilmente enviou-me uma foto de seu belo trabalho e é com prazer que o publico no Ephemeral Museum. 

Bosco é um antigo amigo do blog e já teve vários trabalhos publicados aqui.

Na foto logo acima você vê outro trabalho de Bosco, as Ruínas Greco-Romanas, publicado em 2011, no primeiro ano do blog Papermau.

 À respeito deste trabalho, Bosco disse: - "Eu construí as ruínas romanas de Mauther, reduzidas em um terço, para expor meu pequeno presente de Natal, um anel de bronze Galo-Romano feminino (período imperial, entre 96 e 235 dC)".

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. The Ephemeral Museum is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. O Ephemeral Museum é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:
