Build Your Own Railway Network Papercraft - by West Japan Railway

Offered by the official website of the West Japan Railway Company here are some free papercrafts for you to assemble a complete railway network. 

You will find many model trains (from all eras), from a bullet train, the Shinkansen W7 series train, tracks and a generic station to railway crossings, cast iron bridges, a fan-shaped rotary station and even even buildings inspired by real stations, such as the Kyoto station building and the very modern Osaka station. 

In this post I highlight the Shinkansen W7 series train, a high-speed bullet train model operated by Japan Railways (JR) West in Japan. 

The W7 features an aerodynamic design that makes it more energy efficient and stable at high speeds. 

It provides passenger comfort with ergonomic seats and in-flight entertainment features, as well as being equipped with cutting-edge technology for safety and efficiency. 

The W7 operates primarily on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line, connecting Tokyo to the Hokuriku region, offering fast and efficient travel between the two areas.

Neste post destaco o trem série Shinkansen W7, um modelo de trem-bala de alta velocidade operado pela Japan Railways (JR) West no Japão. 

O W7 apresenta um design aerodinâmico que o torna mais eficiente em termos de consumo de energia e estabilidade em alta velocidade. 

Ele ferece conforto aos passageiros com assentos ergonômicos e recursos de entretenimento a bordo, além de estar equipado com tecnologia de ponta para segurança e eficiência.

Three Life Story Expressions Made From Paper - by JT Biohistory Research Hall

The official website of JT Biohistory Research Hall created these three educational papercrafts that show in a playful way the studies published in the 2013 quarterly magazine "Bioshishi". 

You will find three different papercrafts and the only drawback is that they are all only in Japanese, but if you have a smartphone (who doesn't?) you can easily translate the texts using free applications such as Google Translator. 

In this type of application you use the camera tool and simply point at the text and translate it into the desired language in seconds. 

You can even save the translated texts to make your work easier. Below, a short description about each of the papercrafts, according to the website itself:

Você vai encontrar três papercrafts diferentes e o único porém é que todos eles são apenas em japonês, ma se você tem um smartphone (quem não tem?) pode traduzir facilmente os textos usando aplicativos gratuítos tais como o Google Translator.

Nesse tipo de aplicativo você usa a ferramenta câmera e simplesmente aponta para o texto e traduz para a linguagem desejada em segundos.

3D Life History Mandala - This is the “Biohistory Mandala” created to celebrate 20 years of the Biohistory Research Institute. 

To understand living beings, the hierarchy of cells, tissues, organs, individuals and ecosystems is important. 

Centered on the genome, which is the skewer of a dumpling that runs through this hierarchy, it expresses the history of time as a single cell differentiates into an individual.

Mandala de história de vida em 3D - Esta é a “Mandala da Bio-história” criada para comemorar os 20 anos do Instituto de Investigação em Bio-história. 

Para compreender os seres vivos, a hierarquia de células, tecidos, órgãos, indivíduos e ecossistemas é importante. 

Centrado no genoma, que é o espeto de um bolinho que percorre essa hierarquia, ele expressa a história do tempo à medida que uma única célula se diferencia em um indivíduo.

New 3D Life History Picture Scroll - The new illustrated Life History Picture Scroll explores the effects of past continental drift and climate change on the history of living things. 

On the sides of the model we wrote about the changes on Earth and the rise and fall of living things, and on the back we wrote the percentage of modern living things that survived the extinction crisis. 

Flexibility is what sustains the strength of living beings, which continued without ceasing for 3.8 billion years.

Rolo de imagem da nova história de vida em 3D - O novo rolo ilustrado da história da vida explora os efeitos da deriva continental passada e das mudanças climáticas na história dos seres vivos. 

Nas laterais do modelo escrevemos sobre as mudanças na Terra e a ascensão e queda dos seres vivos, e no verso escrevemos a percentagem de seres vivos modernos que sobreviveram à crise da extinção.

Easy-To-Build Firetruck Papercraft For Kids - by Tokyo Fire Department

Offered by the official website of the Tokyo Fire Department, this very easy-to-assemble papercraft of a fire truck takes up just one printed sheet. 

I said it's easy to assemble but there are no instructions. At first glance I was a little confused about where each piece would fit, so I decided to assemble it in 3D, using Sketchup.

You can see the result in the images that illustrate this post and I hope they help those interested in building their own fire truck. 

Please do not download the template in the last image of this post, as it is a low resolution image for illustrative purposes only. 

Visit the official Tokyo Fire Department website to download the high-resolution tmeplate in PDF format. 

There you will also find another fire truck, an ambulance and a motorcycle, all in the same easy-to-assemble style, suitable for children.

Oferecido pelo site oficial do Corpo de Bombeiros de Tóquio este papercraft bem fácil de montar de um caminhão de bombeiros ocupa apenas uma folha impressa. 

Eu disse que ele é fácil de montar mas não há instruções. À primeira vista eu fiquei um pouco confuso sobre aonde cada peça se encaixaria, então resolvi montá-lo em 3D, usando o Sketchup. 

O resultado você pode ver nas imagens que ilustram este post e eu espero que ajudem aqueles que se interessarem em montar seu próprio caminhão de bombeiros. 

Por favor, não baixem o template na última imagem deste post, pois é uma imagem em baixa resolução apenas para fins ilustrativos.

I'm not sure if I found this website in the great thread "Web Page with Collection of Paper Model Sites" created by my friend John Wagenseil, from Paper Modelers forum, but even if it wasn't there, it's always good to remember that this thread is amazing and full of rare papercrafts, which are really hard to find. 

I'll leave the link to John's thread at the end of this post along with the link to Sega's papercrafts.

Male Cheetah Miniature Paper Model - by Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart

Occupying two sheets of paper this miniature paper model of a male Cheetah was created by Japanese designer Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart, commissioned by the Canon website. 

This paper model is part of the Real Animals Series, and on the website, it is stated that it represents a male Cheetah running, implying that there might be a female version and perhaps a cub version in different poses. 

If you are using this papercraft for a school project, here are some basic information and some interesting facts that may be useful to you: 

The Cheetah, also known as the cheetah, is one of the fastest felines in the world and has distinct physical characteristics that make it a highly efficient hunter. 

The Cheetah is an elegant feline, characterized by its yellowish coat with black spots, a small head with distinctive black eyes, and long, slender legs adapted for speed. 

It is the fastest animal on land, capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h in short bursts, allowing it to hunt agile prey such as gazelles. 

The Cheetah has exceptional vision, vital for identifying prey at long distances while hunting in open terrain. Its oval pupils allow for an improved panoramic vision. 

Despite its impressive speed, Cheetahs are vulnerable in food competitions and often lose their prey to stronger predators such as lions and hyenas. 

This forces them to consume their prey quickly before it can be stolen. Thanks to my friend Jo Kizinger, from USA, for this nice find.

Ocupando duas folhas de papel, este Guepardo, ou Chita Macho em miniatura foi criado pelo designer japonês Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart, comissionado pelo site da Canon. 

Este modelo de papel faz parte da Série Animais Reais e no site é dito que ele representa um Guepardo macho correndo, dando a entender que virá uma versão fêmea e talvez uma versão filhote em diferentes poses. 

Se você for usar este papercraft em um trabalho escolar, seguem abaixo algumas informações básicas e algumas curiosidades que podem lhe ser úteis: 

O Guepardo, também conhecido como chita, é um dos felinos mais rápidos do mundo e possui características físicas distintas que o tornam um caçador altamente eficiente. 

O Guepardo é um felino elegante, caracterizado por sua pelagem amarelada com pintas pretas, uma cabeça pequena com olhos negros distintivos e pernas longas e esguias, adaptadas para a velocidade.

Ele é o animal mais rápido em terra, capaz de atingir velocidades de até 100 km/h em disparadas curtas, permitindo-lhe caçar presas ágeis como gazelas. 

O Guepardo Possui uma visão excepcional, vital para identificar presas a longas distâncias enquanto caça em terrenos abertos. Suas pupilas ovais permitem uma visão panorâmica melhorada. 

Apesar de sua velocidade impressionante, os Guepardos são vulneráveis em competições por comida e frequentemente perdem suas presas para outros predadores mais fortes, como leões e hienas.
