The Temple Of Isis - A Vintage Paper Model - by Marca El Toro Preserved and Shared by The CMN

This paper model of a fictional Temple of Isis was originally published in Spain between the 1940`s and 1950`s and was preserved and is now shared by The CMN, a collector and enthusiast of these ephemeral things. 

The CMN says: - "I started using Flickr to share moving paper toys by Dan Rudolph that were printed in newspapers between 1918 and 1923. In addition to the 29 toys that can be found on the Barnacle Press website, I have found and am in the process of cleaning up and sharing at least 30 more toys. I love vintage images. 

Before digital images were readily available, I collected rubber stamps that enterprising folks made, often using vintage images from old print sources. Also before digital images, I found the Dover Publishing Pictorial Archive and used their images in various projects. 

Now, with the amazing number of places that are preserving our history by digitizing their holdings I am searching out and sharing illustrations that many people might otherwise not see. 

I want to foster an appreciation of all the men and women whose artwork illuminated our lives before the invention and widespread use of photography."

Este modelo de papel de um fictício Templo de Ísis foi publicado originalmente na Espanha entre os anos 1940 e 1950 e foi preservado e agora é compartilhado por CMN, um colecionador e entusiásta dessas coisas efêmeras. 

The CMN diz: - "Comecei a usar o Flickr para compartilhar brinquedos de papel em movimento de Dan Rudolph, impressos em jornais entre 1918 e 1923. Nefertiti Bust Replica Decorative Paper Model - by Biomaker99

Created by designer and modeler Biomaker99 and originally posted at Pepakura Gallery community, here is a perfect paper model version of the Nefertiti Bust, a painted stucco-coated limestone bust of Nefertiti, the Great Royal Wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten. 

The work is believed to have been crafted in 1345 B.C. by the sculptor Thutmose, because it was found in his workshop in Amarna, Egypt. It is one of the most copied works of ancient Egypt. Owing to the work, Nefertiti has become one of the most famous women of the ancient world, and an icon of feminine beauty. 

A German archaeological team led by Ludwig Borchardt discovered the bust in 1912 in Thutmose's workshop. It has been kept at various locations in Germany since its discovery, including the cellar of a bank, a salt mine in Merkers-Kieselbach, the Dahlem museum, the Egyptian Museum in Charlottenburg and the Altes Museum. It is currently on display at the Neues Museum in Berlin, where it was originally displayed before World War II.

Criado pelo designer e modelista Biomaker99 e publicado originalmente na comunidade Peakura Gallery, eis aqui uma vperfeita versão em papel do Busto de Nefertiti, um busto feito de calcário com cerca de 3400 anos de idade, retratando Nefertiti, a Grande Esposa Real do faraó egípcio Aquenáton, uma das obras de arte mais imitadas do Antigo Egito. 

Devido à obra, Nefertiti tornou-se uma das mulheres mais célebres da Antiguidade, bem como um ícone da beleza feminina. Acredita-se que tenha sido feito em 1345 a.C., pelo escultor Tutemés. Uma equipe de arqueólogos alemães, liderada por Ludwig Borchardt, descobriu o busto em 1912, no ateliê de Tutemés em Amarna, no Egito, e ele foi desde então mantido em diversas localidades da Alemanha - incluindo uma mina de sal em Merkers-Kieselbach, o Museu Dahlem (então em Berlim Ocidental), o Museu Egípcio de Charlotemburgo e o Museu Altes. 

Atualmente está em exposição no Neues Museum, em Berlim, onde era exibido antes da Segunda Guerra Mundial.

I remember that when I created this Egyptian-themed memory game papercraft, my daughters were ten and five years old. I did it so that they could play with more playful things instead of standing in front of the TV watching cartoons or playing video games. 

I believe that these games, in addition to strengthening family bonds, develop children's memory and attention. This papercraft was one of many that I thought I lost the templates, but, searching through old dusty boxes, I find them on some old CDs. 

Today I share them here and I hope that you parents can have a little fun with your children, as much as I do. and my daughters were having fun in those good times just over ten years ago. 

A tip: if you print on regular office paper and stick the cards on 3mm thick cardboard, the pieces will be more resistant, easier to be handled by children and will also fit perfectly in the box.

Eu me recordo que quando criei este papercraft de um jogo da memória com temática egípcia, minhas filhas tinham dez e cinco anos. Eu o fiz para que elas brincassem com coisas mais lúdicas ao invés de ficarem em frente a tv assisitindo desenhos ou jogando videogame. 

Eu acredito que essas brincadeiras, além de fortalecerem os laços familiares, desenvolvem a memória e atenção das crianças. Esse papercraft foi um dos muitos que eu julgava haver perdido os templates, mas vasculhando velhas caixas empoeiradas, acheio-os em alguns velhos CDs. 

Hoje os compartilho aqui e espero que vocês pais possam se divertir um pouco com sua crianças, tanto quanto eu e minhas filhas nos divertíamos naqueles bons tempos há pouco mais de dez anos atrás. 

Uma dica: se você imprimir em papel de escritório comum, tipo sulfite, e colar os cards em papel cartão de 3mm de espessura, as peças ficarão mais resistentes, mais fáceis de serem manuseadas pelas crianças e também caberão perfeitamente na caixinha.

The Giza Necropolis is an archaeological site on the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. This complex of ancient monuments includes the three pyramid complexes known as the Great Pyramids, the massive sculpture known as the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers' village and an industrial complex. It is located some 9 km (5 mi) inland into the desert from the old town of Giza on the Nile, some 25 km (15 mi) southwest of Cairo city centre. The pyramids, which have always loomed large as emblems of ancient Egypt in the Western imagination, were popularised in Hellenistic times, when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. As Pirâmides de Gizé, Guizé ou Guiza ocupam a primeira posição na lista das sete maravilhas do mundo antigo.A grande diferença das Pirâmides de Gizé em relação às outras maravilhas do mundo é que elas ainda persistem, resistindo ao tempo e às intempéries da natureza, encontrando-se em relativo bom estado e, por este motivo, não necessitam de historiadores ou poetas para serem conhecidas, já que podem ser vistas.Existe um provérbio árabe que faz referência às Pirâmides: "O Homem teme o Tempo, e o tempo teme as Pirâmides"
