US Patrol Boat Riverine 31 MK.II Paper Model In 1/48 Scale
by Paper Diorama

Created by the talented team of designers from the Italian website Paper Diorama, here is a detailed 1/48 scale paper model of an American patrol boat.

Patrol Boat Riverine, or PBR, is the United States Navy designation for a small rigid-hulled patrol boat used in the Vietnam War from March 1966 until 1975.

They were deployed in a force that grew to 250 boats, the most common craft in the River Patrol Force, Task Force 116, and were used to stop and search river traffic in areas such as the Mekong Delta.

Humvee - High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle Paper Model
by Repap Studios

The Indonesian designer and modeler Chippy Chua, from Repap Studios website, created this very well done miniature paper model of a Humvee.

About this model, Chippy said: - "This is my interpretation in paper of the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or "Humvee" which is said to be the modern day equivalent of the Vietnam war era "Jeep".

The paper model is in 1/48 scale and the kit is composed of 3 pages- 1 title page, 1 instruction page, and 1 page only for parts.

The kit is simple enough to build in an afternoon, just watch out for some small parts which some (including me) might find a bit tedious to make."

Titanic Deck Chair Miniature Paper Model In 1/48 Scale - by Stan Field

This very original paper model of a Titanic deck chair in 1/48 scale was created by the designer and modeler E.C. "Stan" Field, from Anthony Stevens' Weblog.

About this model, Mr. Field said: - "A gentleman was looking at my cardstock models a while back and told me he was working on a 1/48th scale diorama of a section of the Titanic’s deck.

He had been unable to find similar lounge chairs. After some discussion and staring at the plans, I decide to tackle the problem with card stock."

As can be seen in the image below, Mr. Field uses the same carpentry technique used to glue wooden slats, with the aid of staples, to assemble the tiny pieces of the chair.

"Stan" Field, do Anthony Stevens' Weblog.

Moon Landing 50th Anniversary - Apollo Lunar Module Paper Model
In 1/48 Scale - by U-Don`s Factory

Created by Japanese designer U-Don, from U-Don`s Factory website, here is a perfect paper model version of the Apollo Lunar Module in 1/48 scale. The Apollo Lunar Module (LM) was the lander portion of the Apollo spacecraft built for the US Apollo program by Grumman to carry a crew of two from lunar orbit to the surface and back. Six such craft successfully landed on the Moon between 1969–1972.
The LM, consisting of an Ascent stage and Descent stage, was ferried to lunar orbit by its companion Command/Service Module, a separate spacecraft of approximately twice its mass, which took the astronauts home to Earth. After completing its mission, the LM was discarded. In one sense it was the world's first true spacecraft in that it was capable of operation only in outer space, structurally and aerodynamically incapable of flight through the Earth's atmosphere.
Though initially unpopular and plagued with several delays in its development, the LM eventually became the most reliable component of the Apollo/Saturn system, the only one never to suffer any failure that significantly impacted a mission, and in at least one instance (LM-7 Aquarius) greatly exceeded its design requirements by maintaining life support for astronauts after an explosion damaged the Apollo service module. - Wikipedia

- Wikipedia

WW2`s Mitsubishi A6M Zero Aircraft Paper Model - by Lazy Life

 photo am6zerolazylife0087877777_zpse43b8e04.jpg
The Real Thing
This is the Mitsubishi A6M Zero Aircraft, here in a very well done paper version in 1/48 scale, created by Japanese designer Mr. Cube, from Lazy Life website. The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a long-range fighter aircraft, manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1940 to 1945. The A6M was designated as the Mitsubishi Navy Type 0 Carrier Fighter, and also designated as the Mitsubishi A6M Rei-sen and Mitsubishi Navy 12-shi Carrier Fighter. The A6M was usually referred to by its pilots as the "Reisen",{zero fighter},"0" being the last digit of the Imperial year 2600 (1940) when it entered service with the Imperial Navy. The official Allied reporting name was "Zeke", although the use of the name "Zero" was later commonly adopted by the Allies as well. When it was introduced early in World War II, the Zero was considered the most capable carrier-based fighter in the world, combining excellent maneuverability and very long range. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a legendary reputation as a dogfighter, achieving the outstanding kill ratio of 12 to 1, but by mid-1942 a combination of new tactics and the introduction of better equipment enabled the Allied pilots to engage the Zero on generally equal terms. The Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service ("IJNAS") also frequently used the type as a land-based fighter. By 1943, inherent design weaknesses and the failure to develop more powerful aircraft engines meant that the Zero became less effective against newer enemy fighters, which possessed greater firepower, armor, and speed, and approached the Zero's maneuverability. Although the Mitsubishi A6M was outdated by 1944, design delays and production difficulties of newer Japanese aircraft types meant that it continued to serve in a front line role until the end of the war. During the final years of the War in the Pacific, the Zero was also adapted for use in kamikaze operations. During the course of the war, Japan produced more Zeros than any other model of combat aircraft.

A  Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero abandoned at Munda Airfield,
after the Allied Invasion - 1943
