Good night. Twenty-ninth day of quarantine and here in Brazil the CHINESE VIRUS, better known as Covid 19, has already killed 1736 people and infected 28,320.

Please, I ask you, friends of the blog, to watch the video above. It is very short and what you will see is a lady who was walking through a deserted square in a country town here in São Paulo and was approached, knocked over, handcuffed and arrested, just for walking.

I ask you to understand the context: while this lady was arrested for walking in a deserted square, throughout Brazil more than 30,000 criminals were released to serve their sentences at home, for fear of the Chinese VIRUS in jail. Among these poor souls, victims of society, are drug dealers, heads of criminal organizations, rapists, pedophiles, murderers and corrupt politicians. You understand this? Someone has already said that Brazil is not for amateurs.

The mainstream media ridiculed you for speaking in communist plots, but what he was trying to say was that the city's mayor, Edinho do PT, is a notorious communist, involved in various shady deals with his political party, PT Workers), led by the famous convict of corruption, the former president of Brazil, Luis Inácio "Lula" da Silva, who is only at liberty due to the benevolence of some judges chosen by him (Lula) for the Supreme Federal Court. A curiosity: only one of the eleven ministers of the Supreme Federal Court was actually a judge before being ministers, the others were lawyers or exercised other functions related to the law.

The city of Araraquara has 236,072 inhabitants and at the time of writing this text, it had four registered cases of infected by the CHINESE VIRUS and no deaths.

The lady was just walking alone in an empty square, asserting her right guaranteed by the Constitution to come and go. The only agglomeration was caused by city officials and unprepared policemen, who used disproportionate force to immobilize the lady.

The mayor of Araraquara is an old acquaintance of the Brazilian political scene, the case in which he used the government's corporate card to buy "tapiocas", a popular delicacy here in Brazil. Edinho Silva was treasurer of the electoral campaign and former minister of Dilma Rousseff and investigated by the Lava-Jato operation. The operation investigates an alleged corruption scheme in the Ministry of Agriculture (during which he was the minister) during the government of President Dilma Rousseff.

Yesterday I said here that it is in the most difficult times that we see who are the good and the bad, who are the just and the dishonest. It is at times like these that despots, tyrants and dictators disguised as Democrats show their claws. That's what socialism is, or you fit in or you go to jail, or worse.

Open your eyes, every step taken backwards in our freedoms will be a step without return.

Boa noite. Vigésimo nono dia da quarentena e aqui no Brasil o VÍRUS CHINÊS, mais conhecido como Covid 19, já matou 1736 pessoas e infectou 28.320.

Por favor, peço que vocês, amigos do blog, assistam ao vídeo acima. É bem curto e o que vocês verão é uma senhora que caminhava por uma praça deserta em uma cidade do interior aqui de São Paulo e foi abordada, derrubada, algemada e presa, apenas por estar caminhando.

Peço que entendam o contexto: enquanto essa senhora foi presa por caminhar em uma praça deserta, em todo o Brasil mais de 30.000 criminosos foram soltos para cumprirem suas penas em casa, por receio do VÍRUS Chinês nas cadeias. Entre estas pobres almas, vítimas da sociedade, encontram-se traficantes de drogas, chefes de organizações criminosas, estupradores, pedófilos, assassinos e grandes políticos corruptos. Você entende isso? Alguém já disse que o Brasil não é para amadores.

A grande mídia ridicularizou a senhora por ela falar em complô comunista, mas o que ele tentava dizer era que o prefeito da cidade, Edinho do PT, é um comunista notório, envolvido em vários negócios nebulosos com seu partido político, o PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores), comandado pelo famoso condenado por corrupção, o ex-presidente do Brasil, Luis Inácio "Lula" da Silva, que só está em liberdade por uma benevolência de alguns juízes escolhidos por ele (Lula) para o Supremo Tribunal Federal. Uma curiosidade: apenas um dos onze ministros do Supremo Tribunal Federal era realmente juíz antes de ser ministro, os outros eram advogados ou exerciam outras funções ligadas ao direito.

O prefeito de Araraquara, Edinho do PT, decretou quarentena para, segundo ele, conter o surto de coronavírus. Na cidade estão sendo realizadas diariamente operações para orientar os usuários dos principais parques e áreas de esportes e lazer. O decreto municipal vedou o acesso da população aos equipamentos públicos, parques e praças municipais, bem como suspendeu os programas e atividades culturais e esportivas, proibindo assim qualquer ação que implique ou resulte em aglomeração de pessoas. A cidade de Araraquara tem 236.072 habitantes e no momento em que eu escrevo este texto, tinha quatro casos registrados de infectados pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS e nenhuma morte.

A senhora estava apenas caminhando sozinha em uma praça vazia, fazendo valer seu direito assegurado pela Constitução de ir e vir. A única aglomeração foi causada pelos funcionários da prefeitura e pelos policiais despreparados, que usaram de força desproporcional para imobilizar a senhora.

O prefeito de Araraquara é velho conhecido da cena política brasileira, sendo folclórico o caso em que ele usou o cartão corporativo do governo para comprar "tapiocas", uma iguaria popular aqui do Brasil. Edinho Silva foi tesoureiro da campanha eleitoral e ex-ministro de Dilma Rousseff e investigado pela operação Lava-Jato. A operação investiga suposto esquema de corrupção no Ministério da Agricultura (período em que ele era o ministro) durante o governo da presidente Dilma Rousseff .

Ontém eu disse aqui que são nas horas mais difíceis que vemos quem são os bons e os maus, quem são os justos e os desonestos. São em momentos como estes que os déspotas, tiranetes e ditadores disfarçados de democratas mostram suas garras. O socialismo é isso, ou você se enquadra ou você vai em cana, ou coisa pior.

Abram os olhos, cada passo dado para trás em nossas liberdades, será um passo sem volta.

Today, Tuesday, the twenty-eighth day of the quarantine and here in Brazil we have 1,532 dead by the CHINESE VIRUS, better known as Covid 19, and 25,262 infected.

The mainstream media, made up of major television networks and print and online newspapers of wide circulation and audience, are making a lot of money from this pandemic. How do they do this? Disclosing everything that is bad, only what is bad and keeping people hypnotized in what looks like the end of the world. Everyone is at home, the mainstream media has never had such a captive audience, literally. Manipulating people when they are vulnerable is easy.

Politicians here in Brazil also take the opportunity to approve all kinds of measures to benefit only them. They are scoundrels who would sell their mothers themselves if they earned a few coins from it. Right now they stopped voting on a proposal for the "3 BILLION REAIS" of the electoral fund (a shameful agreement that only exists here in Brazil, of course) to be reversed to fight the pandemic. They are so damned that not even at a time like this, they can stop thinking only of them. And the people cannot even take to the streets to protest, paralyzed by the fear spread daily, with greater efficiency than that of the nefarious virus, by the mainstream media.

Understand, I am not against virus prevention: clear and direct information, without sensationalism, is much better than the media terrorism that is being done here. People are inactive, accepting all that is imposed by governors and mayors with dictatorial fetishes, and are still thanking, as if this bunch of scoundrels really care about someone other than themselves.

We have to take care of ourselves, wash our hands, wear masks, keep the protocol distance, but we can't stop the country. The big businessmen have their big magazines open, because they sell food (essential products) together with TVs, video games, computers, clothes and everything else that is prohibited to small traders. There can be no two measures, either everyone is prohibited or nobody is prohibited. Speaking of which, Governor João Doria, Cracolândia, two streets below my house, is running at full speed, 24 hours a day.

Well, I think this diary is coming out a little bit of what can be called diary, but it is difficult to see all this happening and not say anything.

Hoje, terça-feira, vigésimo oitavo dia da quarentena e aqui no Brasil temos 1.532 mortos pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS, mais conhecido como Covid 19, e 25.262 infectados.

A grande mídia, formada por grandes redes de televisão e jornais impressos e online de grande circulação e audiência, estão ganhando muito dinheiro com essa pandemia. Como eles fazem isso? Divulgando tudo que é ruim, só o que é ruim e mantendo as pessoas hipnotizadas no que parece o fim do mundo. Todos estão em casa, a grande mídia nunca teve tanta audiência cativa, literalmente. Manipular as pessoas quando eles estão vulneráveis é fácil.

Os políticos aqui do Brasil também aproveitam para aprovar toda espécie de medida para beneficiar somente a eles. São canalhas que venderiam as próprias mães se eles ganhassem algumas moedas com isso. Agora mesmo deixaram de votar uma proposta para que os "3 BILHÕES DE REAIS" do fundo eleitoral (um vergonhoso acordo que só existe aqui no Brasil, claro) fossem revertidos para combater a pandemia. São tão malditos que nem em uma hora como essa, conseguem deixar de pensar apenas neles. E o povo nem ao menos pode sair às ruas para protestar, paralisados pelo medo diariamente espalhado, com eficiência maior que a do nefasto vírus, pela grande mídia.

Entenda, eu não sou contra a prevenção ao vírus: informação clara e direta, sem sensacionalismo, é muito melhor que o terrorismo midiático que está sendo feito por aqui. As pessoas estão sem ação, aceitando tudo que é imposto por governadores e prefeitos com fetiches ditatoriais, e ainda estão agradecendo, como se esses canalhas realmente se importassem com alguém a não ser eles mesmos.

Temos que nos cuidar, lavar as mãos, usar máscaras, manter a distância protocolar, mas não podemos parar o País. Os grandes empresários estão com seus grandes magazines abertos, pois vendem alimentos (produtos essenciais) junto com Tvs, videogames, computadores, roupas e tudo mais que está proibido aos pequenos comerciantes. Não pode haver duas medidas, ou se proíbe todos ou não se proíbe ninguém. Por falar nisso, governador João Doria, a Cracolândia, duas ruas abaixo de minha casa, está funcionando à todo vapor, 24 horas por dia.

Bem, acho que esse diário está saindo um pouco do que pode se chamar diário, mas é que é difícil ver tudo isso acontecendo e não falar nada.

Good night friends. Sunday, sixteenth day of quarantine. Here in Brazil we have 22,169 infected and 1,223 deaths caused by the CHINESE VIRUS, better known as Covid 19.

I wasn't even going to write today, but on the internet I saw (yes, on the internet, because on television channels and newspapers, in the official media, you won't know that) the public demonstrations, especially here in São Paulo, against Lock Down, the mandatory confinement and, most importantly, against the arbitrary and disgusting cell phone monitoring done by the ambitious and despicable state governor, João Doria (I talked about it yesterday).

You see, it's not about denying the seriousness of the situation, the virus exists and is everywhere, but the truth is that nobody really knows what to do, everything is new and nobody has the answer. The imposition of confinement is not certain to improve the situation. What we see in the official media on a daily basis are the numbers of people killed and contaminated, but there is no mention of the number of people who heal, who improve. The alarmism is so great that they make long stories showing recently opened graves in cemeteries, but they do not make it clear that they are not just for victims of the CHINESE VIRUS.

Every time a Governor or Mayor imposes a law that diminishes our freedoms, we have to understand that it will be very difficult to reverse these impositions. It is the perfect paradise for tyrants and dictators, corrupt and scoundrels on duty. Just as the world economy can be stopped in one day, as it really was, but it may take years to get back to where it left off, our democratic conquests and our freedom, which are taking away or trying to take away in disguise, will be very difficult to regain. The scoundrels who now take the opportunity to impose their will, will not give in so easily after all this is over.

Will our children and grandchildren, as well as the children and grandchildren of the Germans after World War II, also ask us why we let it happen, why we did nothing? Conspiracy theory, some will say. Really? Can you at least consider this possibility?

Boa noite, amigos. Domingo, décimo sexto dia da quarentena. Aqui no Brasil temos 22.169 infectados e 1.223 mortes causadas pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS, mais conhecido como Covid 19.

Eu nem ia escrever hoje, mas na internet vi (sim, na internet, porque nos canais de televisão e jornais, na mídia oficial, você não vai saber disso) as manifestações públicas, principalmente aqui em São Paulo, contra o Lock Down, o confinamento obrigatório e, mais importante, contra o arbitrário e nojento monitoramento feito por celulares feito pelo ambicioso e desprezível governador do Estado, João Doria (falei sobre isso ontém).

Veja bem, não se trata de negar a gravidade da situação, o vírus existe e está em todo lugar, mas a verdade é que ninguém sabe realmente o que fazer, tudo é novo e ninguém tem a resposta. A imposição de confinamento não é certeza de melhora da situação. O que vemos na mídia oficial diariamente são os números de mortos e contaminados, mas não se fala no número de pessoas que se curam, que melhoram. O alarmismo é tanto que fazem longas matérias mostrando covas recém abertas em cemitérios, mas não deixam claro que elas não são apenas pra vítimas do VÍRUS CHINÊS.

Cada vez que um Governador ou prefeito impõe uma lei diminuindo nossas liberdades, temos que entender que será muito difícil voltar atrás nessas imposições. É o paraíso perfeito para tiranos e ditadores, corruptos e canalhas de plantão. Assim como a economia mundial pode ser parada em um dia, como realmente foi feito, mas levam-se anos talvez para que ela volte ao ponto em que parou, nossas conquistas democráticas e nossa liberdade, que estão tirando ou tentando tirar disfarçadamente, serão muito difíceis de serem reconquistadas. Os canalhas que agora aproveitam para impor suas vontades, não cederão tão fácil depois que tudo isto tiver passado.

Será que nossos filhos e netos, assim como os filhos e netos dos alemães após a Segunda Grande Guerra, também não perguntarão para nós porquê deixamos isso acontecer, porquê não fizemos nada? Teoria da conspiração, alguns dirão. Será mesmo? Você pode ao menos aventar esta possibilidade?

Vejo você amanhã. Se cuidem, lavem as mãos, usem máscaras, blá, blá, blá...

Hello everybody. Today, the fifteenth day of the quarantine and yesterday Brazil reached the sad mark of a thousand deaths by the CHINESE VIRUS, also known as Covid 19. Today the official count is 1,124 dead and 20,727 infected. I read with sadness that the United States has 19,882 deaths and half a million infected and Italy is right behind with 19,468 deaths and 152,271 infected.

Here in São Paulo, our brilliant and ambitious governor João Doria had the brilliant idea of monitoring (spying) the residents of the state through their cell phones to know who leaves home and where they are going. The astute ruler made a deal with the telephone companies to find out where the citizens are going and forgot to do the same with the more than 1,500 convicts who were released to serve "prison at home" across the state, due to the risk of contamination in prisons . So you see how great it is: arrest the good men and release the criminals. Not to mention that the commerce (stores in general) is prohibited throughout Brazil, but drug traffickers continue to work freely in the open-air Cracolandias spread across the country.

Here at home we look forward to seeing if the quarantine really ends on the 23rd now. Probably not. Most likely, there will be a partial release of street commerce. We'll see.

If anyone wants to contribute a few words to this diary, it will be a pleasure to publish their reports and I am sure that many people would like to know how things are going around the world, outside the official media.

Olá para todos. Hoje, décimo quinto dia da quarentena e ontém o Brasil atingiu a triste marca de mil mortos pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS, também conhecido como Covid 19. Hoje a contagem oficial soma 1.124 mortos e 20.727 infectados. Leio com tristeza que os Estados Unidos somam 19.882 mortes e meio milhão de infectados e a Itália vem logo atrás com 19.468 mortes e 152.271 infectados.

Aqui em São Paulo, nosso genial e ambicioso governador João Doria teve a brilhante idéia de monitorar (espionar) os moradores do Estado através de seus celulares, para saber quem sai de casa e para onde vão. O astucioso governante fez acordo com as companhias de telefonia para saber aonde vão os cidadãos e esqueceu de fazer o mesmo com os mais de 1.500 condenados que foram libertados para cumprir "prisão em casa" em todo o Estado, devido ao risco de contaminação nas prisões. Então vejam bem que genial: prendam os homens de bem e soltem os criminosos. Sem contar que o comércio, lojas em geral, está proibido em todo o Brasil, mas os traficantes de drogas continuam trabalhando livremente nas Cracolândias à céu aberto espalhadas por todo o país.

Aqui em casa esperamos ansiosos para ver se a quarentena relamente terminará dia 23 agora. Provável que não. O mais provável é que haja uma liberação parcial do comércio de rua. Veremos.

Twenty-third day of the quarantine and here in Brazil the CHINESE VIRUS, also known as Covid 19, has already killed 941 victims and 17,857 infected, according to official data.

Here in the State of São Paulo, Chloroquine is now part of the official treatment of the public and private health network, depending on only the approval of the doctor responsible for the patient.

People are not respecting the quarantine properly, and practically 50% of paulistanos are circulating in the city, although many of them wear masks and keep the protocol distance.

The peak of Brazil's pandemic will take place next week, and runs from the 15th to the 23rd of this month. I hope that everything goes well and that the frightening number of deaths that unfortunately is happening in Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the United States does not happen here. I'm sorry for the friends of these countries. It is all very painful.

The Federal Government has put in place an ambitious aid plan for the people, something that has never been done, with cash assistance for more than 50 million people, which could reach 90 million, in the worst case scenario. Of course, this will end up costing a lot in the future, but the moment calls for immediate action. We'll see.

Here at home we are taking our lives, waiting for this quarantine to end soon. Girls study online and take it seriously. My wife and I have always argued a little over trivial things, but they are common things between couples. At the end of the day, we're fine. To distract myself, I'm watching Better Call Saul and re-watching Band of Brothers and some old films from the 70's and 80's. I've been reading a lot too, but I still haven't been able to create anything in papercraft. Ideas just don't come.

Vigésimo terceiro dia da quarentena e aqui no Brasil o VÍRUS CHINÊS, também conhecido como Covid 19, já fez 941 vítimas fatais e 17.857 infectados, segundo dados oficiais.

Aqui no Estado de São Paulo a Cloroquina agora faz parte do tratamento oficial da rede de saúde pública e privada, dependendo da apenas da aprovação do médico responsável pelo paciente.

As pessoas não estão respeitando a quarentena devidamente, e praticamente 50% dos paulistanos estão circulando pela cidade, apesar de muitas delas usarem máscaras e manterem a distância protocolar.

O pico da pandemia do Brasil se dará semana que vem, e vai do dia 15 até o dia 23 deste mês. Torço para que tudo dê certo e não aconteça aqui o assustador número de mortes que infelizmente está acontecendo na Espanha, França, Reino Unido e Estados Unidos. Sinto muito pelos amigos destes países. É muito doloroso tudo isso.

O Governo Federal pôs em prática um ambicioso plano de ajuda ao povo, algo que nunca foi feito, com auxílio em dinheiro para mais de 50 milhões de pessoas, podendo chegar a 90 milhões, no pior dos cenários. Claro que isso acabará custando muito futuramente, mas o momento pede ações imediatas. Veremos.

Aqui em casa vamos levando nossas vidas, esperando que essa quarentena termine logo. As meninas estudam online e levam a sério. Eu e minha esposa sempre discutimos um pouco por coisas banais, mas são coisas comuns entre casais. No final do dia estamos bem. Para distriar tenho assistido Better Call Saul e reassistido Band of Brothers a alguns filmes antigos das décadas de 70 e 80. Tenho lido bastante também, mas ainda não consegui criar nada em papercraft. As idéias simplesmente não vêm.

Bem, por hoje eu creio que é isso. Espero poder estar aqui amanhã. Fiquem bem e cuidem-se. Isso vai passar logo.

Hello, friends, I hope you are well. Here in Brazil we have 800 deaths by the CHINESE VÌRUS, also known as Covid 19. At the time of writing these lines, the infected here are 15,927.

Worldwide there are more than 1.5 million cases and 87,000 deaths caused by CHINESE VIRUS.

The United States has the largest number of infected (424,945 cases), followed by Spain (148,220 cases), Italy (139,422), France (113,959) and Germany (112,113). Third country with the highest number of cases, Italy has the highest number of deaths from CHINESE VIRUS (17,669 deaths), followed by the United States (14,529 deaths), Spain (14,792 deaths), France (10,869 deaths) and the Kingdom Kingdom (7,097 deaths).

Despite so much bad things happening, today I am happy because my friend Mike James sent me news from the USA. Mike said:

"Greetings from the USA, Mr. Mauther! The situation here seems to be ok so far.

The governor of our state just cancelled school for the year. A little overkill if you ask me. We are also told to wear masks in public at the stores, social distance and all that, but i would estimate that maybe 1/2 the people I see are doing so. The medicine you describe is a very strong one with ALOT of bad side effects that have not been fully tested, but it seems to work for a lot of people.

We have had some decent weather so going out and getting some sun is good, but its eerie as the people and traffic is sparse. Our school administration has started online classes with check ins via Zoom app. Assignments handed out on mondays and due on thursday. It gives them structure again, and us a small break in the day leaving them to be on the app, talking to friends and teachers.

I have faith we will grow stronger as a family and community after this is all done.

Olá, amigos, espero que vocês estejam bem. Aqui no Brasil temos 800 mortos pelo VÌRUS CHINÊS, também conhecido como Covid 19. No momento em que escrevo estas linhas, os infectados aqui são 15.927.
No mundo todo há mais de 1,5 milhão de casos e 87 mil mortes causadas pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS.

Os Estados Unidos tem a maior quantidade de infectados (424.945 casos), seguido por Espanha (148.220 casos), Itália (139.422), França (113.959) e Alemanha (112.113).
Terceiro país com maior quantidade de casos, a Itália apresenta o maior número de mortos pelo VÍRUS CHINÊS (17.669 mortes), depois vem os Estados Unidos (14.529 mortos), a Espanha (14.792 mortes), a França (10.869 mortes) e o Reino Unido (7.097 mortes).

Apesar de tanta coisa ruim acontecendo, hoje estou contente pois meu amigo Mike James mandou-me notícias dos EUA. Mike disse:

"Saudações dos EUA Sr. Mauther! A situação aqui parece estar bem até agora.

O governador do nosso estado acabou de cancelar aa aulas durante todo o ano. Um pouco exagerado na minha opinião. Também nos dizem para usar máscaras em público e nas lojas, manter distância social e tudo mais, mas eu estimaria que talvez metade das pessoas que vejo estejam fazendo isso. O medicamento que você descreve (Clorocolina) é muito forte, com MUITOS efeitos colaterais ruins que não foram totalmente testados, mas parece funcionar para muitas pessoas.

Tivemos um clima decente, então sair e apanhar sol é bom, mas tamém assustador, pois as pessoas e o tráfego são escassos. Nossa administração escolar iniciou aulas on-line, com check-ins via aplicativo Zoom. Trabalhos entregues às segundas-feiras e com vencimento na quinta-feira. Isso lhes dá estrutura novamente, e nos dá uma pequena pausa no dia, deixando-os no aplicativo, conversando com amigos e professores.

Acredito que ficaremos mais fortes como família e comunidade depois que tudo isso tiver terminado.

Twenty-first day of quarantine. The official numbers for the epidemic in Brazil are: 667 deaths and 13,717 infected so far. The doctors here are using Chloroquine for critically ill patients.

So far, 30,000 prisoners have been released to serve prison in their homes. Brazilian joke, obviously. But no, this really happened and, among the contemplated, there are politicians who stole billions of Reais (yes, billions, not millions), heads of drug cartels, murderers and rapists. Everyone goes happily, each one to their home during the whole quarantine time, believe me.

China's ambassador to Brazil, feeling offended by an ironic and unnecessary tweet from the Brazilian Minister of Education, threatened/blackmailed the Government with economic cuts.

Today I had to go out again for, guess what? renegotiate more debt, obviously. Lots of cars on the streets, lots of people too, walking, exercising, cycling, taking dogs for a walk.

All bank branches that are open have long lines at the door. Not everyone who waits in these lines respect the minimum distance recommendation. Tired of staying at home, most people take the opportunity to talk (about the epidemic), and each has their own theory about the virus and when they can return to their normal lives.

One more day. Take care. Wash your hands. Wear masks. Keep your distance. See you tomorrow.

Vigésimo primeiro dia da quarentena. Os números oficiais da epidemia no Brasil são: 667 mortes e 13.717 infectados até agora. Os médicos daqui estão fazendo uso da Cloroquina para pacientes em estado grave.

Até agora, 30.000 presos foram libertados para cumprir prisão em suas casa. Piada brasileira, obviamente. Mas não, isso relamente aconteceu e, entre os contempaldos há políticos que roubaram bilhões de Reais (sim, bilhões, e não milhões), chefes de cartéis de drogas, assassinos e estupradores. Todos vão alegremente, cada um para sua casa durante todo o tempo da quarentena, pode acreditar.

O embaixador da China no Brasil, sentindo-se ofendido por um tweet irônico e desnecessário do Ministro da Educação brasileiro, ameaçou/chantageou o Governo com cortes econômicos.

Hoje tive que sair novamente para, adivinhem? renegociar mais dívidas, obviamente. Muitos carros nas ruas, muita gente também, andando, fazendo exercícios, de bicicleta, levando os cães para passear.

Todas as agências bancárias que estão abertas teem filas grandes na porta. Nem todos que esperam nessas filas respeitam a recomendação de distância mínima. Cansados de ficar em casa, amaioria aproveita para conversar (sobre a epidemia), e cada um tem uma teoria própria sobre o vírus e quando poderão voltar as suas vidas normais.

Mais um dia. Cuidem-se. Lavem as mãos. Usem máscaras. Mantenham distância. Nos vemos amanhã.

Good night friends,

Twentieth day of quarantine. Here in Brazil the CHINESE VIRUS has already killed 553 and infected 12,056 people. In the United States, impressive and sad numbers: 10,000 deaths and 347,000 infected. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson is interned in an U.T.I in London, victimized by the accursed CHINESE VIRUS.

I received some emails alerting me to the fact that by calling Covid 19 a CHINESE VIRUS, I would be fueling racism against Chinese around the world. I want to make it clear that I do not blame the poor Chinese citizens, but the damned Chinese Communist government. Be patient: the United States, with just over 327 million people, already has 10,000 confirmed deaths, while China with its 1.5 billion people, makes light of the intelligence of any ordinary person in claiming that only 3,000 Chinese died in their territory. Furthermore, when naming the CHINESE VIRUS virus, I am just stating the obvious, the virus came from China, probably from the ingestion of exotic animal meat by the miserable rural population. I'm sorry that the truth sounds so aggressive to some people. Speaking of communist nations, North Korea also claims to have no case of Covid 19 so far. Venezuela (that beautiful country where zoos do not exist anymore because the familial population has even devoured lions and elephants. There are also no more dogs and cats on the streets), in the person of its dictator Nicolas Maduro, says he also has no even one infected in that blessed country, where equality is so great that everyone is equally miserable. I'm not even going to talk about Cuba, the favorite communist country for every socialist-caviar, with Che Guevara shirt and iPhone in hand.

Meanwhile, here in São Paulo the Governor of the State extended the quarantine until April 22. Even so, some stores have opened and there are a lot of people on the streets. The governor is a really tough guy. He said that in the near future, anyone who disrespects the quarantine will be warned, fined and even may even be arrested. I would like him to have the same attitude towards drug dealers and drug addicts in Cracolândia. To friends outside Brazil I explain that Cracolândia (literally Crackland in Portuguese) is a popular denomination for a region of the city of São Paulo, which is notorious for high incidence of drug trafficking and drug use in public. It is located within the central region of the city, near Luz Station.

Vigésimo dia da quarentena. Aqui no Brasil o VÍRUS CHINÊS já matou 553 e infectou 12.056 pessoas. Nos Estados Unidos, números impressionantes e tristes: 10.000 mortes e 347.000 infectados. O Primeiro-Ministro do Reino Unido, Boris Johnson está internado em uma U.T.I em Londres, vitimado pelo maldito VÍRUS CHINÊS.

Recebi alguns e-mails alertando-me para o fato que ao chamar o Covid 19 de VÍRUS CHINÊS, eu estaria alimentando o racismo contra os chineses em todo o mundo. Quero deixar claro que não ponho a culpa nos pobres cidadãos chineses, e sim no maldito governo comunista chinês. Tenha paciência: os Estados Unidos, com pouco mais de 327 milhões de pessoas, já tem 10.000 mortes confirmadas, enquanto a China com seus 1 bilhão e meio de pessoas, faz pouco da inteligência de qualquer pessoa comum ao afirmar terem morrido apenas 3.000 chineses em seu território. Além do mais ao nomear o vírus de VÍRUS CHINÊS, eu estou apenas constatando o óbvio, o vírus veio da China, provavelmente de ingestão da carne de animais exóticos pela miserável população rural. Sinto muito que a verdade soe tão agressiva para algumas pessoas. Por falar em nações comunistas, a Coréia do Norte também afirma não ter nenhum caso de Covid 19 até o momento. A Venezuela (aquele belo país aonde os zoológicos não mais existem pois a população famélica devorou até mesmo os leões e os elefantes. Também não há mais cães e gatos pelas ruas), na pessoa de seu ditador Nícolas Maduro, afirma que também não tem nem mesmo um infectado naquele abençoado país, onde a igualdade é tanta que todos são igualmente miseráveis. Nem vou falar de Cuba, o país comunista preferido de todo socialista-caviar, de camisa do Che Guevara e iPhone na mão.

Enquanto isso, aqui em São Paulo, Joaõ Doria, o Governador do Estado, prorrogou a quarentena até o dia 22 de Abril. Mesmo assim, algumas lojas abriram e há muita gente nas ruas. O governador é realmente um cara muito durão. Ele falou que, num futuro próximo, quem desrespeitar a quarentena será advertido, multado e até mewsmo poderá ser preso. Gostaria que ele tivesse a mesma atitude com os traficantes e viciados em drogas da Cracolândia. Eu creio que haja cracolândias em todos os estados do Brasil, mas se alguém não sabe, a Cracolândia (por derivação de crack, crack+lândia = terra do crack) é uma denominação popular para uma área no centro da cidade de São Paulo, nas imediações das Avenidas Duque de Caxias, Ipiranga, Rio Branco, Cásper Líbero, Rua Mauá, Estação Júlio Prestes, Alameda Dino Bueno e da Praça Princesa Isabel, onde historicamente se desenvolveu intenso tráfico de drogas e meretrício. Fica mais propriamente situada no bairro de Santa Efigênia, e coincide parcialmente com a região da Boca do Lixo.

Hello, I hope you are all well. Here in Brazil we have 486 killed by Covid 19 and 11,130 infected, according to official data. The congress approved the War Budget, but nothing to reverse the 3 billion reais of the immoral electoral fund to fight the epidemic. Friends outside of Brazil must be wondering what the hell the electoral fund is. Well, it is even embarrassing to say that this money comes from taxes, that is, from my pocket, from the pocket of all Brazilians and is diverted from the area of health, education and public security so that the poor politicians can finance their electoral campaigns. That's right, friends, we Brazilians pay for this indecency. The mainstream media, as always, who earn a lot from these campaigns, remain silent, as if they have nothing to do with it. Welcome to Brazil!

Here in São Paulo, we expect a statement from the state governor tomorrow. He will say whether the trade will reopen, at least partially, or we will continue in full quarantine. Hospitals are testing treatments on patients infected with plasma from people healed from Covid 19.

The bills keep coming, not delivered by the postman, but cramming the e-mail box. They arrive in duplicate now, to remember that they "need to be paid". It will be difficult to have to negotiate bills that until a few days ago, would be paid without problems.

Here at home the climate continues to vary. Watching the news channels on TV became painful. I can't fully focus on anything. My daughter complains that I have been sleeping a lot. I've been really sleepy. Is this an escape?

Olá, espero que estejam todos bem. Aqui no Brasil temos 486 mortos pelo Covid 19 e 11.130 infectados, segundo dados oficiais. O congresso aprovou o Orçamento de Guerra, mas nada de reverter os 3 bilhões de Reais do imoral fundo eleitoral para o combate a epidemia. Os amigos de fora do Brasil devem estar se perguntando o que diabos é o fundo eleitoral. Bem, é até constrangedor dizer que esse dinheiro vem de impostos, ou seja, do meu bolso, do bolso de todos os brasileiros e é desviado da área da saúde, educação e segurança pública para que os pobres políticos possam bancar suas campanhas eleitorais. É isso mesmo, amigos, nós, brasileiros, pagamos essa indecência. A grande mídia, como sempre, que ganha muito com essas campanhas, cala-se, como se não tivesse nada com isso. Bem vindos ao Brasil!

Aqui em São Paulo esperamos para amanhã um pronunciamento do governador do Estado. Ele dirá se o comércio reabrirá, ao menos parcialmente, ou continuaremos em quarentena total. Hospitais estão testando tratamentos em pacientes infectados com plasma de pessoas curadas do Covid 19.

As contas continuam chegando, não entregues pelo carteiro, mas abarrotando a caixa de e-mail. Elas chegam em duplicata agora, para lembrar que elas "precisam ser pagas". Vai ser difícil ter que negociar contas que até poucos dia atrás, seriam pagas sem problemas.

Aqui em casa o clima continua variando. Assistir aos canais de notícias na tv tornou-se penoso. Não consigo me concentrar totalmente em nada. Minha filha reclama que eu tenho dormido muito. Tenho tido mesmo muito sono. Será isso uma fuga?
