The Ephemeral Museum - Copacabana Auto Service And The Old Garage Paper Models - Assembled by SergentFido

SergentFido is a Hot Wheels miniature collector and an active member of the BeamNG forum, the official community for the game BeamNG.drive, a realistic vehicle physics simulator known for its advanced damage modeling, collisions, and real-time physics. 

The forum is the main hub for players, modders, and developers to share ideas and projects. 

That’s where SergentFido started a thread called "My Little Die Casts and Town Project", where he posted the photos you see in this post. 

In them, you’ll spot the "Copacabana Auto Service" and "The Old Garage", two original papercraft models by Papermau, released between 2015 and 2017.

Both are in 1/64 scale, making them perfect for die-cast miniatures like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica, Johnny Lightning, and Greenlight Collectibles.

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. 

I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. 

With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. 

Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years.

I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. 

Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. 

Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. 

Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. 

Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

Marinho Garage Stand Papercraft For Miniatures In 1/64 Scale by Papermau - Download Now!

This is the Marinho Garage, another Papermau original papercraft. 

Simply print the template, fold along the indicated line, and you're done: you'll have a perfect display stand to showcase and photograph your 1/64 scale vehicle miniatures, such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and similar models. 

To ensure the correct scale, you may need to adjust your printer settings. I recommend doing test prints first, using the draft printing mode and regular office paper to save ink and materials. 

Once you’ve got everything set up correctly, you can print in standard or high quality, using thicker paper such as 150 g, 180 g, or even 220 g for a more professional finish.

Basta imprimir o template, dobrar na linha indicada e pronto, você terá um cenário perfeito para expor e fotografar suas miniaturas de veículos na escala 1/64, como Hot Wheels, Matchbox e similares. 

Para garantir a escala correta, pode ser necessário ajustar as configurações da sua impressora. Recomendo fazer testes antes, utilizando a opção de impressão econômica e folhas de papel mais simples, como papel sulfite comum. 

Depois de acertar os ajustes, você pode imprimir em qualidade padrão ou alta, usando um papel mais encorpado, como 150 g, 180 g ou até mesmo 220 g para um acabamento mais profissional.

Some Facades From London In The 70's - A Stand Papercraft For Miniature Vehicles - by Papermau - Download Now!

Here is the stand/diorama featuring some facades of 1970s London, ready for download. I believe it will be useful as a display or for photographing miniatures, especially 1/64 scale vehicles like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and others. 

The photo of the facade I used is actually from Vlaardingen, a city and municipality located in the South Holland province (Zuid-Holland), in the Netherlands. 

It is close to Rotterdam, along the Nieuwe Maas river, one of the branches of the Rhine. Before discovering this, when I first saw the photo, I thought it depicted a street in London. It was with that idea in mind that I began creating the papercraft. 

The posters of The Who, David Bowie, Queen, and Black Sabbath, as well as the other signs and painted billboards on the brick walls, were carefully added to create an atmosphere reminiscent of 1970s London. 

A special detail is the graffiti I placed on the bottom left of the facades. This graffiti actually existed and was immortalized by the photographer John de Prey, who, in 1971, spent a few months with his friend Marcus in Powis Square, in Notting Hill, London. 

During this time, he captured a series of photographs documenting the everyday life and vibrant culture of the area. 

His images provide a unique glimpse of Notting Hill in the 1970s, highlighting places like the Portobello Road market, local residents, and the area's cultural diversity. 

The graffiti in question featured a quote by William Blake: "The tigers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction". 

It was captured by de Prey on Basing Street, W11, and was also seen at the entrance of Euston Square station. 

This phrase, from Blake’s work The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (1790-1793), reflects his belief in the creative force of passion and energy (represented by the "tigers of wrath"), which he considered superior to controlled reason and conformity (symbolized by the "horses of instruction"). 

It is an invitation to embrace emotional intensity and spontaneity over passive obedience. In the 1970s, it was common to find Blake’s quotes in graffiti scattered across London. 

Another example is the phrase "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom", seen in Powis Square. These inscriptions captured the rebellious and philosophical spirit of the time, using urban art to provoke thought and challenge societal norms. 

The author of the graffiti featuring Blake’s quote remains unknown. During the 1970s, such graffiti was often created by anonymous artists or thinkers who used philosophical and literary phrases to express countercultural ideas or inspire reflection.

This anonymity was part of the charm and impact of graffiti, allowing the message to take center stage rather than the creator. 

Blake's words, with their defiant and inspiring tone, fit perfectly with the rebellious and creative spirit of the era.

A foto da fachada que usei, na verdade, é de Vlaardingen, uma cidade e município localizado na província da Holanda do Sul (Zuid-Holland), nos Países Baixos. 

Ela fica próxima a Roterdã, ao longo do rio Nieuwe Maas, uma das ramificações do Reno. Antes de descobrir isso, ao ver a foto pela primeira vez, pensei que se tratava de uma rua de Londres. Foi com essa ideia em mente que comecei a criar o papercraft. 

Os pôsteres do The Who, David Bowie, Queen e Black Sabbath, assim como as demais placas e letreiros pintados nas paredes de tijolos, foram cuidadosamente adicionados para criar uma atmosfera que remete à Londres dos anos 1970. 

Um detalhe especial é o grafite que coloquei na parte inferior esquerda das fachadas. Esse grafite realmente existiu e foi eternizado pelo fotógrafo John de Prey, que, em 1971, passou alguns meses com seu amigo Marcus na Powis Square, em Notting Hill, Londres. 

Durante esse período, ele registrou uma série de fotografias que documentam a vida cotidiana e a cultura vibrante da área na época. 

Suas imagens oferecem uma visão única de Notting Hill nos anos 1970, destacando lugares como o mercado de Portobello Road, os moradores locais e a diversidade cultural da região. 

O grafite em questão exibia a frase de William Blake: "The tigers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction". 

Ele foi registrado por de Prey na Basing Street, W11, e também era visto na entrada da estação Euston Square.

As palavras de Blake, com seu tom desafiador e inspirador, se encaixavam perfeitamente no espírito rebelde e criativo da época.

Dirty Susie Auto Parts Paper Model In 1/64 Scale - by PapermauDownload Now!

This papercraft was supposed to be published in March 2024, but due to a series of factors that kept me quite busy at the time, I ended up forgetting about it. 

Anyway, better late than never! Finally, I present the Dirty Susie Auto Parts, a diorama that occupies three printed sheets and is in an approximate scale of 1/64, the same as the famous Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and similar cars.
