Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo Cruise Missile Paper Model in One Sheet by Ned Reif

Once again I have the pleasure of featuring here on Papermau a work by designer Ned Reif, currently based in Germany. This time, his latest creation is a paper interpretation of the Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo, developed by Fire Point.

The FP-5 Flamingo has a very peculiar and easily recognizable design, with a long fuselage, straight wings and its engine mounted above the rear section. Ned reproduced these distinctive features in his well-known personal style, which he humorously describes as his own "Reif-style scale", without following a conventional scale.

The model features an eye-catching digital camouflage pattern in different shades of blue, together with Ukrainian markings. Despite its detailed appearance when assembled, this is a compact papercraft: all the parts needed to build it are arranged on just one sheet of paper.

The sheet itself also includes a small reference image and some technical information about the real FP-5 Flamingo, as well as a display stand for the finished model.

This papercraft is available as a free download from Ned Reif's Ko-fi gallery, where you will also find several other creations made in his unique style.

Mais uma vez tenho o prazer de apresentar aqui no Papermau um trabalho do designer Ned Reif, atualmente baseado na Alemanha. Desta vez, sua mais recente criação é uma interpretação em papel do ucraniano FP-5 Flamingo, desenvolvido pela Fire Point.

O FP-5 Flamingo tem um desenho bastante peculiar e facilmente reconhecível, com uma longa fuselagem, asas retas e o motor instalado sobre a parte traseira. Ned reproduziu essas características em seu conhecido estilo pessoal, que ele próprio define com bom humor como sua "Reif-style scale", sem seguir uma escala convencional.

O modelo apresenta uma chamativa camuflagem digital em diferentes tons de azul, acompanhada das marcações ucranianas. Apesar da aparência detalhada quando montado, este é um papercraft compacto: todas as peças necessárias para a montagem estão organizadas em apenas uma folha.

A própria folha também inclui uma pequena imagem de referência e algumas informações técnicas sobre o verdadeiro FP-5 Flamingo, além de um suporte para expor o modelo depois de pronto.

Pripyat City Concrete Sign Paper Model - by Paper Replika

Created by the Indonesian designer and modeler Julius Perdana from Paper Replika website and spanning three printed sheets, this is the paper model of the iconic sign found at the entrance of Pripyat city. 

The concrete sign at the entrance of the city of Pripyat, located in Ukraine, is a historical and tragic landmark. Pripyat was a planned and prosperous city, built to accommodate the workers of the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. 

On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred, considered the worst nuclear accident in history. An explosion at the nuclear reactor released large amounts of radioactive material into the atmosphere, affecting vast areas and contaminating Pripyat. 

Authorities hastily evacuated the city to protect residents from the dangers of radiation. The concrete sign, with the inscription "Pripyat" or "При́п'ять" in Cyrillic, was once the proud entrance to the city, but now remains as a somber and tragic symbol of the catastrophe that took place. 

The site has become a tourist destination for so-called "disaster tourists", who visit the region to see the abandoned ruins and witness the devastating effects of the accident. 

The area around Pripyat is now a highly contaminated Exclusion Zone, where human life is extremely limited and controlled. 

The concrete sign stands as a silent reminder of the terrible consequences of human negligence in the nuclear industry and the importance of taking appropriate safety measures in such facilities.

Criado pelo designer e modelista indonésio Julius Perdana do site Paper Replika e ocupando três folhas impressas, este é o modelo de papel do icônico letreiro encontrado na entrada da cidade de Pripyat. 

O letreiro de concreto na entrada da cidade de Pripyat, localizada na Ucrânia, é um marco histórico e trágico. Pripyat era uma cidade planejada e próspera, construída para abrigar os trabalhadores da Usina Nuclear de Chernobyl, que ficava próxima. 

Em 26 de abril de 1986, ocorreu o desastre nuclear de Chernobyl, considerado o pior acidente nuclear da história. Uma explosão no reator nuclear liberou grandes quantidades de material radioativo na atmosfera, afetando vastas áreas e contaminando Pripyat. 

As autoridades evacuaram a cidade às pressas para proteger os moradores dos perigos da radiação. O letreiro de concreto, com a inscrição "Pripyat" ou "При́п'ять" em cirílico, indicava a entrada orgulhosa da cidade, mas agora permanece como um símbolo triste e sombrio da catástrofe que ocorreu. 

O local tornou-se um destino turístico para os chamados "turistas da catástrofe", que visitam a região para ver as ruínas abandonadas e testemunhar os efeitos devastadores do acidente. 

A área em torno de Pripyat é agora uma Zona de Exclusão altamente contaminada pela radiação, onde a vida humana é extremamente limitada e controlada. 

O letreiro de concreto permanece como um lembrete silencioso das consequências terríveis da negligência humana na indústria nuclear e da importância de tomar medidas de segurança adequadas em tais instalações.

Russo-Balt C24/40 Armoured Car Paper Model In 1/43 Scale by Andriy Romanchuk - via Landships II

Here is a very well-made paper model in 1/43 scale of the Russo-Balt C24/40 Armoured Car, created by Ukrainian designer and modeler Andriy Romanchuk and originally published on Landships II website. 

"In August 1914, on the initiative of the Minister of the Military Adjutant General Sukhomlinov a "machine-gun armored car battery" was formed. This was to be equipped with armoured cars based on the chassis of the Russo-Balt car "S24/40" with engines rated at 40 hp. 

The armoured body was developed by A.Ya. Grauen with suggestions by Colonel Alexandr Dobrzhanskaya, who became the first commander of the 1st automotive machine gun company. The armour was quite thin (3.5mm) but the sloped plates somehwat improved resistance to fire. The company was formed very quickly, and on Oct. 

19 went to the front equipped with 8 cars and remained there throughout the war, except for a three-month break due to mechanical overhaul. By the end of 1921 three "Russo-Balt" survived from the first division." - Landships II 

The Russo-Balt C24/40 was an armored car produced by the Russian automobile manufacturer Russo-Balt during World War I. It was designed for military use and primarily intended for reconnaissance and troop transportation in combat areas. 

The vehicle had a robust design and was equipped with a high-power engine to tackle difficult terrains. It had four-wheel drive and was capable of reaching considerable speeds for the time, reaching about 90 km/h. The C24/40 was armored to protect the crew against small arms fire and explosion fragments. Its armament included a machine gun mounted on a rotating turret, providing some capability for direct combat. 

However, despite its promising features, the Russo-Balt C24/40 had a limited fate. Mass production was interrupted due to the collapse of the Russian Empire in 1917 and the subsequent Russian Civil War. Additionally, armored vehicle technology advanced rapidly after World War I, rendering the C24/40 obsolete compared to more modern models. 

Today, the Russo-Balt C24/40 is considered a rare and historic piece, with only a few surviving specimens in museums and private collections. It stands as a testament to the early development of Russian armored vehicles and their role in the war.

Eis aqui um modelo de papel muito bem feito na escala 1/43 do Carro Blindado Russo-Balt C24/40, criado pelo designer e modelista ucraniano Andriy Romanchuk e originalmente publicado no site Landships II. 

"Em agosto de 1914, por iniciativa do Ministro do Adjunto Militar, General Sukhomlinov, foi formada uma "bateria de carros blindados com metralhadoras". Essa bateria seria equipada com carros blindados baseados no chassi do carro Russo-Balt "S24/40" com motores de 40 hp.

Front Mission - United States Of The New Continent Army Papercraftby Sermann

Created by Ukrainian designer and modeler Sergiy, aka Sermann, this is the papercraft set of the United States of the New Continent army. 

On Front Mission videogames series, the United States of the New Continent, often shortened to USN (known as the Unified Continental States or UCS in some English versions), is a supernation formed in 2020 in response to the formation of the Oceania Cooperative Union. 

The headquarters of the supernation is in USN North America.

Criado pelo designer e modelista ucraniano Sergiy, aka Sermann, este é o papercraft set do exército dos Estados Unidos do Novo Continente. 

Na série de videogames Front Mission, os Estados Unidos do Novo Continente, muitas vezes abreviado para a USN (conhecida como Unified Continental States ou UCS em algumas versões em inglês), é uma supernação formada em 2020 em resposta à formação da União Cooperativa da Oceania.

Lacrafta Space Helmet Papercraft Project - The Final Result

Two days ago I posted here on the blog the Papercraft Space Helmet Project offered as a free model from the Ukrainian website Lacrafta.

In the previous post I had assembled and laminated the model with newsprint and school glue. Today I leave here some images of the model already painted and with logos of the Brazilian Space Agency and obviously, the official flag of Brazil. 

As I said in the previous post, the entire model offered by Lacrafta takes up eleven sheets of paper and is not difficult to assemble. 

There is the option to include side lights, but I chose not to include them in this project, as the helmet would be handled by children.

Dois dias atrás eu postei aqui no blog o Projeto Papercraft do Capacete Espacial oferecdo como um modelo gratuíto do site ucraniano Lacrafta. 

No post anterior eu havia montado e laminado o modelo com papel jornal e cola escolar. Hoje deixo aqui algumas imagens do modelo já pintado e com logos do Agência Espacial Brasileira e obviamente, a bandeira oficial do Brasil.

Como havia dito no post anterior, o modelo todo oferecido pela Lacrafta ocupa onze folhas de papel e não é difícil de montar. 

Há a opção de incluir lanternas laterais, mais eu optei por não incluí-las neste projeto, já que o capacete seria manuseado por crianças.

Lacrafta Space Helmet Papercraft Project - A Work In Progress

My daughter Maiú is involved in a school project that involves the conquest of space and he decided to present an astronaut suit. 

This helmet she is building is a free model offered by the Ukrainian website Lacrafta. The whole model takes up 11 sheets of paper and I could see that it fits well for the size of adult heads. There are no instructions, but the greenness is that it's not necessary, as all the pieces are numbered, so all you have to do is glue the same numbered pieces together. 

I didn't find any difficulties in assembling the helmet. Follow a single rule: parts are numbered, so start with the lowest numbered parts to the highest, the rest is intuitive. As you can see, we have already assembled the helmet (printed on 180 gram cardboard) and reinforced it with layers of regular paper with school glue, as the final product will be handled during the school presentation. 

Tomorrow we will paint the helmets (there are two) with spray paint, first with a coat of gray primer and then with a matte white. Once dry, we will apply some textures and logos from the Brazilian Space Agency. 

What I can say is that this template offered by Lacrafta is perfect for school work and cosplayers and I really admire companies that use free templates to promote their products. 

Whenever I find a company that makes free templates available, I will be happy to promote that company, making it clear that I do this to promote the papercraft hobby, without expecting any kind of financial return. 

In fact, in the case of Lacrafta, I can only thank that company, as this specific model helped a lot with my daughter's schoolwork.

Minha filha Maiú está envolvida em um trabalho escolar que envolve a conquista do espaço e ele decidiu apresentar um traje de astronauta. 

Este capacete que ela está construindo é um modelo gratuíto oferecido pelo site ucraniano Lacrafta. O modelo todo ocupa 11 folhas de papel e pude constatar que ele serve bem para o tamanho de cabeças adultas. Não há instruções, mas a verdeade é que não é nescessário, já que todas as peças são numeradas, então tudo que você precisa fazer é colar as partes de números iguais. 

Eu não encontrei dificuldades em montar o capacete. Siga uma única regra: as peças tem numeração, então comece pela speças de número menor para o maior, o resto é intuitivo. Como vocês podem ver, já montamos o capacete (impressão em papel cartão de 180 gramas) e reforçamos com camadas de papel comum com cola escolar, já que o produto final será manuseado durante a apresentação escolar. 

Amanhã iremos pintar os capacetes (são dois) com tinta spray, primeiro com uma demão de primer cinza e depois com um branco fosco. Depois de seco, iremos aplicar algumas texturas e logos da Agência Espacial Brasileira. O que eu posso dizer é que esse modelo oferecido pela Lacrafta é perfeito para trabalhos escolares e cosplayers e eu admiro muito as empresas que fazem uso de modelos gratuítos para promoverem seus produtos. 

Sempre que eu encontar uma empresa que disponibibiliza modelos gratuítos, eu terei o prazer que promover essa empresa, deixando claro que faço isso para promover o hobby do papercraft, sem esperar nenhuma espécie de retorno financeiro. 

Na verdade, no caso da Lacrafta, eu só posso agradecer, já que este modelo em específico, ajudou bastante no trabalho escolar de minha filha.
