Here is the third and final part of the assembly of the Ancient Thatched House, a papercraft that takes up just one printed sheet and which was posted here on the blog last week.
Below are the photos and, when necessary, I will add some text explaining something I think is relevant.
At the end of this post I will leave the links to download the templates and the first part of assembling the model.
Eis aqui a terceira e última parte da montagem da Antiga Casa com Telhado de Palha, um papercraft que ocupa apenas uma folha impressa e que foi postado aqui no blog semana passada.
Abaixo seguem as fotos e, quando necessário, adicionarei algum texto explicando algo que achar pertinente.
No final deste post deixarei os links para baixar os templates e para a primeira parte da montagem do modelo.
In the photo above and in the two below you can see the gluing of the shutters. They are optional, but the model is more detailed and eye-catching with them.
Assembly is simple, cut each shutter and fold it in half, then just glue it to the sides of each window.
Na foto acima e nas duas abaixo você vê a colagem das venezianas. Elas são opcionais, mas o modelo fica mais detalhado e chamativo com elas.
A montagem é simples, corte cada veneziana e dobre ao meio, depois é só colar nas laterais de cada janela.
Now, the part I most wanted to show you: how to create miniature trees in a very cheap and relatively easy way.
In the photo above you can see that I used dry twigs from houseplants. I don't know what plant these branches are from, but they are common dry branches.
Agora, a parte que eu mais queria mostrar: como criar árvores em miniatura de uma forma bem barata e relativamente fácil.
Na foto acima você vê que eu usei galhos secos de plantas caseiras. Eu não sei de que planta são esses galhos, mas são galhos secos comuns.
These "leaves" you see above are made with used dishwashing sponge. I took the yellow part, softer, very dry, and cut it into pieces.
Then I threw it into the blender and blended it for a few seconds, being careful not to let the sponge turn into powder.
To dye the "leaves" I used matte acrylic paint in green. I diluted this paint with water in equal parts and dipped the leaves in them.
I left it for a few minutes and then removed the leaves and sifted them to remove excess paint. I left it to dry on paper napkins, stirring from time to time so that the leaves didn't stick together.
Essas "folhas" que você vê acima são feitas com esponja usada de lavar louça. Eu peguei a parte amarela, mais macia, bem seca, e cortei em pedaços.
Depois joguei no liquidificador e triturei por alguns segundos, tomando cuidado para não deixar a esponja virar pó.
Para tingir as "folhas" usei tinta acrílica fosca na cor verde. Diluí essa tinta com água em partes iguais e mergulhei as folhas nelas.
Deixei alguns minutos e depois tirei as folhas e peneirei para tirar o excesso de tinta. Deixei secando em cima de guardanapos de papel, mexendo de vez em quando para que as folhas não grudassem.
In the photo above you can see the finished tree. What I did was take the dry branch and apply a lot of super glue (Krazy Glue or Loctite) to the top ends.
Then I immediately immersed this branch in a pot where I had previously placed the dry sponge leaves. The result is what you see above and in the next three photos below.
Na foto acima você vê a árvore já terminada. O que eu fiz foi pegar o galho seco e passar bastante super cola (Super Bonder ou similar) nas extremidades superiores.
Depois de imediato mergulhei esse galho em um pote aonde já havia previamente colocado as folhas secas de esponja. O resultado é o que você vê acima e nas próximas três fotos abaixo.
Now, the final part. With some small branches from the same branch of the tree I made a pile of firewood (photo above).
The grass is made from sawdust dyed with the same method used to dye the tree's leaves.
To glue the grass, I add a generous layer of regular white glue in the places I want to simulate vegetation. Then just spread the grass over the glue.
The ideal is to cover all the glue with a large layer of grass and after a few seconds, shake the diorama to remove the excess.
If somewhere the grass doesn't stick well, I apply a little more glue to that spot and repeat the operation.
Agora, a parte final. Com alguns pequenos ramos do mesmo galho da árvore eu fiz uma pilha de lenha (foto acima).
A grama é feita de serragem tingida com o mesmo método usado para tingir as folhas da árvore.
Para colar a a grama adiciono uma generosa camada de cola branca comum nos lugares que quero simular vegetação. Depois é só espalhar a grama sobre a cola.
O ideal é cobrir toda a cola com uma grande camada de grama e depois de alguns segundos, balançar o diorama para tirar o excesso.
Se em algum lugar a grama não fixou bem, passo mais um pouco de cola neste ponto e repito a operação.
I've finished my model here, but you can create many more details, such as making a fence with the same tree branches or drawing small lines of white glue on the walls and roofs of the house and gluing dyed sawdust to simulate twining ivy.
A small well is also very easy to make and the customization possibilities are endless, just depending on your imagination.
I had a lot of fun creating this tutorial and I hope it's helpful to someone.
Eu dei por terminado meu modelo aqui, mas você pode criar muito mais detalhes, tais como fazer uma cerca com os mesmos galhos da árvore ou traçar pequenas linhas de cola branca nas paredes e telhados da casinha e colar a serragem tingida para simular heras enrendando.
Um pequeno poço também é bem fácil de fazer e as possibilidades de personalização são infinitas, dependendo apenas de usa imaginação.
Eu me distraí bastante criando este tutorial e espero que ele seja útil para alguém.
