Created by Japanese designer and modeler Moyobu and originally shared on the Pepakura Gallery community, this detailed paper model of the Grease Bock robot spans fifteen printed pages and comes in .PDO format, compatible with the Pepakura Viewer (download link at the end of this post).
Grease Bock is one of the playable Virtuaroids from the classic Cyber Troopers Virtual-On series developed by SEGA.
It appears in titles such as Virtual-On: Cyber Troopers and Virtual-On Marz. With its bulky frame and heavy firepower, it's the perfect mecha for players who enjoy long-range combat, even if it means sacrificing speed.
For those unfamiliar, Virtual-On is a 3D arena action game series featuring fast-paced one-on-one battles between giant robots.
It was a hit in arcades during the 1990s and was later ported to the Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox 360, and PS4 (the last one only in Japan).
Gameplay is quick and strategic, with each Virtuaroid featuring its own set of weapons and fighting style.
The robot designs, by the way, are a visual treat, with art direction by Hajime Katoki, well-known for his work on the Gundam franchise.
First released in 1995, Virtual-On stood out thanks to its futuristic visuals, intense battles, and unique control scheme, in arcades, the game was played using twin sticks, simulating the feeling of piloting a real mecha.
