This is the St-Evy Chapel, located in the Pays Bigouden region in Brittany, France, the newest paper model in 1/100 scale created by my friend, the French designer and modeler Secanda.
The St-Evy Chapel is situated in a beautiful location at the bottom of a damp valley, near the coast of the Bay of Audierne.
The chapel is known for its connection to the Christianization of ancient water-related cults. The reed beds are only a few meters away from the chapel walls, and it is not uncommon for the chapel to have its feet in the water during winter...
The St-Evy Chapel is a good example of the Christianization in the past of ancient cults related to water. In fact, this chapel does not have a nearby fountain but is built directly on a spring that emerges from the building at the south, at the corner of the nave and the transept.
The antiquity of this place of worship is also indicated by its eponymy, St. Evy was a companion of St. Guénolé in the 6th century. This source of devotion was and is still used to relieve joint pain.
Architecturally, this chapel is characterized by great sobriety. It is particularly remarkable for its tau-shaped plan, where the wide transept is almost equal in length to the main vessel. Due to its relative proportions (large transept, small bell tower, low walls), this small chapel gives the impression of being much larger than it actually is!
One of the gables of the current building bears the date 1660, but the bell tower and the apse rather evoke the 16th century.
As of now, the St-Evy Chapel is not the subject of any administrative protection.
Some curiosities about Secanda and his creative process, in his own words: - "Secanda means "stuff to cut" in Latin language. I use just an old basic multilayer photo editor, that I use as a paper with pencil and compass.
I don't use 3D editors because first I don't know at all how to use them and then I don't like very much the paper models made only with 3D tools.
For my taste, they look often as nightclub mirror balls... For my taste again, it's better to feel the hand of the drawer even if the result is rougher and less perfect.
However the real reason is maybe I'm too lazy or too stupid or too old, or the three in the same time, to learn how to use a 3D editor."

Esta é a Capela de St-Evy, localizada na região de Pays Bigouden, na Bretanha, França, o mais novo modelo em papel na escala 1/100 criado pelo meu amigo, o designer e modelista francês Secanda.
A Capela de St-Evy está situada em um belo local, no fundo de um vale úmido, próximo à costa da Baía de Audierne.
A capela é conhecida por sua ligação com a cristianização de antigos cultos relacionados à água. Os caniçais estão a apenas alguns metros das paredes da capela e não é incomum, no inverno, que a capela fique com os pés na água...
A capela de St-Evy é um bom exemplo da cristianização no passado dos antigos cultos da água. De fato, esta capela não tem uma fonte próxima, mas é construída diretamente sobre uma nascente, que sai do edifício no sul, no canto da nave e do transepto.
A antiguidade deste local de adoração também é indicada pela eponimia, St. Evy foi companheiro de St. Guénolé (século VI). Esta fonte de devoção era e ainda é usada para aliviar dores nas articulações.
Arquitetonicamente, esta capela é de grande sobriedade. É especialmente notável por sua forma de tau, cujo amplo transepto é quase igual ao comprimento do vaso principal. Devido às suas proporções relativas (amplo transepto, pequeno campanário, paredes baixas), esta pequena capela dá a impressão de ser muito maior do que realmente é!
Uma das fachadas do edifício atual ostenta a data de 1660, mas o campanário e o coro evocam mais o século XVI. Até o momento, a capela de St-Evy não é objeto de qualquer proteção administrativa.
Algumas curiosidades sobre Secanda e seu processo criativo, nas palavras do próprio: - "Secanda significa "coisas para cortar" em latim. Eu uso apenas um velho editor de fotos básicas multicamadas, que uso como papel, lápis e compasso.
Eu não uso editores 3D porque primeiro eu não sei como usá-los e eu não gosto muito dos modelos de papel feitos apenas com ferramentas 3D.
Para o meu gosto, eles parecem frequentemente com bolas espelhadas de discoteca ... Na minha opinião novamente, é melhor sentir a mão no desenho, mesmo se o resultado for mais rude e menos perfeito.
No entanto, a verdadeira razão é que talvez eu seja muito preguiçoso ou muito estúpido ou muito velho, ou os três ao mesmo tempo, para aprender como usar um editor 3D."
