My North American friend Dave, aka Vermin King, from
Paper Modelers and Cardboard Warriors forums, worked hard in this
vintage diorama called
Automobilgarage, originally published in the
early years of the last century, by
French publisher Illustreret Familie-Journal. Because
my English is very poor, I asked him to
write something about this model and its creative process.
The words he kindly sent me are these: -
"I found the Automobilgarage from Illustreret Familie-Journal on the blog
Agence Eureka. When I first discovered the models from
Illustreret Familie-Journal, my thought was to do a set of these
for my grandmother's window shelf at the nursing home, but she liked animals more than buildings. Then I wondered if
I could clean it up enough to put into my model railroad layout, if I ever decide to put it back together. But the
Papercuts 2015 contest got me thinking about it again. I like the looks of it, but it
needed cleaning up and would benefit from layering. If the project had moved along better, I'd have done an interior.
The whole thing was rescaled for 28mm, and cleaned up using
Gimp. The
carriage house required a little re-design so that no white showed and to supply parts for layering.
The carriage required substantially more work to turn this into a beautiful model instead of the toy that it was originally intended to be." -

nos primeiros anos do século passado , pela editora francesa Illustreret Familie-Journal. Por
meu inglês ser muito precário, pedi a ele que
escrevesse algo sobre este modelo e seu processo criativo. As palavras que ele
gentilmente enviou-me são estas: -

rimeira idéia foi montá-lo como um presente para minha avó, mas ela gosta mais de animais do que edifícios. Então me perguntei se eu poderia limpá-lo o suficiente para
colocar em minha maquete ferroviária, se eu decidisse montá-la novamente um dia . Fui deixando para depois, mas aí veio
o concurso Papercuts 2015, que me fez pensar sobre este modelo novamente. Pensei que
precisaria limpar os templates originais e que a técnica de sobreposição de camadas também faria uma grande diferença, para melhor. Se eu tivesse mais tempo,
teria feito também um interior. Redimensionei tudo para a escala 28 mm e usei o
programa de edição de imagens Gimp na limpeza.
A carruagem foi que deu mais trabalho para fazê-la ficar no mínimo apresentável. " -
