The Flintstones - Easy-To-Build Flintmobile Papercraft - by Mike Daws

Mike Daws is a creative British designer and modeler, and the author of this well-crafted papercraft of the Flintmobile from the animation The Flintstones. 

The Flintmobile (also known as the Cavemobile) is a Canopysaurus and an iconic vehicle owned by Fred Flintstone, featured in the original series and franchise, The Flintstones, by Hanna-Barbera. It's a stone-age vehicle powered by Fred's feet, as he runs while sitting inside the car. 

The Flintstones is a classic 1960s animation depicting the life of a modern Stone Age family, led by Fred Flintstone and his wife Wilma. 

The series was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and is set in the fictional town of Bedrock.

The Flintstones are often considered the first modern TV family, as their situations and problems humorously reflected real-life issues of the time when the series aired.

The Flintstones pioneered many aspects of animation, including extensive use of visual and verbal gags, and being one of the first animated series to air in prime time in the United States. 

During its early seasons, The Flintstones were sponsored by Winston Cigarettes, and characters often appeared smoking in integrated commercials. While common at the time, it's now peculiar to see animated characters promoting tobacco products. 

The model you see in the image above was assembled by Mr. Dtmkancho, director of the "Dino Toy Museum" website, dedicated to cataloging various types of toys, including dinosaur papercrafts. 

Dino Toy Museum celebrated its 25th anniversary on August 15, 2023, and I recommend a visit to the website (link right below) for those who appreciate dinosaurs.

Marilyn Scott Waters is a British designer, writer and author of a really nice paper toy craft book series called "The Toymaker". 

About these paper toys in particular, she said: - "Blue Cockatoo has challenged the snake and berry mouse to a balancing contest. 

Print out these easy to make paper animals and have your own competition." 

On Paper Toy Maker website you will find many other papercrafts suitable for children, as can be seen in the third image of this post.

Doctor Who - TARDIS Paper Model And Some Doctors - by Titan Comics

Days ago I posted here on the blog an easy-to-assemble TARDIS papercraft (link at the end of the post), from the Doctor Who universe, and today I present a new version, also easy to assemble and which comes with four versions (or incarnations, as is said in the series) of Doctor Who. 

Doctor Who is an iconic British science fiction series that debuted in 1963 and continues to this day. 

It follows the adventures of the Doctor, a time-traveling alien known as the Time Lord, who travels in his spaceship, the TARDIS. 

The TARDIS is a time machine with the ability to camouflage itself, although it is stuck in the form of a 1960s blue police box. 

The Doctor has the ability to regenerate into a new body when his current one is seriously injured, allowing different actors to play the role of the Doctor over the years. 

Each incarnation of the Doctor has a unique personality, ranging from eccentric and playful to more serious and dark. 

Throughout his travels, he is accompanied by different human companions as he faces a variety of villains, including the fearsome Daleks and the Cybermen. 

Doctor Who is known for its humor, imagination, and ability to explore moral and ethical issues through its stories. 

The series has become a cultural phenomenon, with a dedicated fan base worldwide.

Dias atrás eu publiquei aqui no blog um papercraft bem fácil de montar da TARDIS (link no final do post), do universo de Doctor Who e hoje eu apresento uma nova versão, também fácil de montar e que vem com quatro versões (ou encarnações, como é dito na série) do Doutor Who. 

Doctor Who é uma icônica série de ficção científica britânica que estreou em 1963 e continua até hoje. 

Ela segue as aventuras do Doutor, um alienígena viajante do tempo e do espaço, conhecido como Senhor do Tempo, que viaja em sua nave, a TARDIS. 

A TARDIS é uma máquina do tempo com a habilidade de se camuflar, embora esteja presa em forma de uma cabine de polícia azul dos anos 60. 

O Doutor tem a habilidade de se regenerar em um novo corpo quando seu atual está gravemente ferido, o que permite que diferentes atores interpretem o papel do Doutor ao longo dos anos. 

Cada encarnação do Doutor possui uma personalidade única, que vai desde a excêntrica e brincalhona até a mais séria e sombria.

George Orwell`s 1984 Book Follow-Me-Eye Papercraft - by PapermauDownload Now!

Who could have imagined that a book written in 1949 talking about a dystopian future in 1984 would become so possible in 2024? 

"Ministries of Truth" spread throughout the world, as does "Newspeak." This papercraft is a tribute (contains irony) to all the "Ministries of Truth" around the world. 

"1984" is a dystopian novel written by George Orwell and published in 1949. Set in a totalitarian future, the book portrays a world where the government, led by the party known as "Big Brother", controls every aspect of citizens' lives, including your thoughts and memories. 

The protagonist, Winston Smith, works at the Ministry of Truth, where he reviews and alters historical documents to suit the party's interests. 

He begins to question the reality imposed by the government and becomes involved in a forbidden relationship with Julia, a co-worker. 

They are discovered, captured and subjected to brutal re-education. Winston is subjected to intense brainwashing and psychological torture by the Party. 

Winston is led to full acceptance of Big Brother's rule, completely renouncing his own individuality and submitting to the party's authority. 

He ends up betraying Julia, whom he loved, and blindly accepts the party's ideologies. 

The novel ends with Winston sitting in a cafe, completely transformed and without any desire for rebellion or critical thinking, completely subjugated by the tyranny of the state. 

It is a dark and harrowing ending that highlights the complete victory of totalitarianism over individual freedom and independent thought. 

When I read this book for the first time I was around fifteen years old and I read everything I could. There was still no internet, no Kindle, no virtual libraries, so any book that fell into my hands was eagerly consumed. 

At that time I just wanted knowledge and I didn't care if it was of good or bad quality, I just wanted to read and read and read. 

Although at the time I thought the book was good fiction, for me it was just that, a good story that would never go beyond that. 

I remember a passage from the book that I remembered as "2+2=5", when Winston is forced to accept this idea during his re-education by the party. 

The statement that "2+2=5" is a symbol of the totalitarian government's ability to control people's perception of reality and make them believe clearly false things. 

It is a way of demonstrating the party's absolute power over the minds and consciences of citizens, forcing them to accept any statement, no matter how absurd, if it suits the party's interests. 

The exact text is this, in which Winston says: 

- "How can I avoid seeing what is in front of my eyes? Two and two make four. 

 - Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes there are five. Sometimes there are three. Sometimes they are all at the same time. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane."

Quem poderia imaginar que um livro escrito em 1949 falando de um futuro distópico em 1984, se tornaria tão possível em 2024? 

Os "Ministérios da Verdade" se espalham por todo o mundo, assim como a "Novilíngua". Este papercraft é um tributo (contém ironia) a todos os "Ministérios da Verdade" em todo o mundo. 

"1984" é um romance distópico escrito por George Orwell e publicado em 1949. Situado em um futuro totalitário, o livro retrata um mundo onde o governo, liderado pelo partido conhecido como "Grande Irmão", controla todos os aspectos da vida dos cidadãos, incluindo seus pensamentos e memórias. 

O protagonista, Winston Smith, trabalha no Ministério da Verdade, onde revisa e altera documentos históricos para se adequar aos interesses do partido. 

Ele começa a questionar a realidade imposta pelo governo e se envolve em um relacionamento proibido com Julia, uma colega de trabalho. 

Eles são descobertos, capturados e submetidos a uma brutal reeducação. Winston é submetido a uma intensa lavagem cerebral e tortura psicológica pelo partido.

Winston acaba por trair Julia, a quem amava, e aceita cegamente as ideologias do partido. 

O romance termina com Winston sentado em um café, completamente transformado e sem qualquer desejo de rebelião ou pensamento crítico, completamente subjugado pela tirania do estado. 

É um final sombrio e angustiante que ressalta a completa vitória do totalitarismo sobre a liberdade individual e o pensamento independente. 

Quando eu li esse livro pela primeira vez eu tinha por volta de quinze anos e lia tudo que eu podia. 

Ainda não havia internet, nem kindle, nem bibliotecas virtuais, então qualquer livro que caia em minhas mãos era avidamente consumido. 

Nessa época eu só queria conhecimento e não me importava se era de boa ou má qualidade, eu só queria ler e ler e ler. 

 Apesar de na época achar o livro uma boa ficção, para mim era só isso mesmo, uma boa história que nunca passaria disso. 

Lembro de uma passagem do livro que guardei na memória como "2+2=5", quando Winston é forçado a aceitar essa ideia durante sua reeducação pelo partido. 

A afirmação de que "2+2=5" é um símbolo da capacidade do governo totalitário de controlar a percepção da realidade das pessoas e fazer com que elas acreditem em coisas claramente falsas. 

É uma maneira de demonstrar o poder absoluto do partido sobre a mente e a consciência dos cidadãos, forçando-os a aceitar qualquer afirmação, por mais absurda que seja, se isso for conveniente para os interesses do partido. 

O texto exato é esse, em que Winston diz: 

- "Como posso evitar ver o que está diante dos meus olhos? Dois mais dois são quatro. 

- Às vezes, Winston. Às vezes são cinco. Às vezes são três. Às vezes são todos ao mesmo tempo. Você deve se esforçar mais. Não é fácil tornar-se são."

Doctor Who - Easy-To-Build TARDIS Paper Model - by Benny Thaibert

Danish designer and modeler Benny Thaibert, from Bitmedia website, created this paper model of the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space), a time machine and spaceship shaped like a police box that appears in the cult British science fiction series Doctor Who. 

Regarding the creation of this model and the TARDIS, Mr. Thaibert said: - "I wanted to create an “easy to make” tardis box and minimize the use of glue and difficult cutouts with a craft knife. 

So, I did this: A foldable rectangular cube It took some trial and error and then it became reality. 

When something seems small on the outside, but is much bigger on the inside. The TARDIS originates from a police box. 

A telephone kiosk for use by members of the police or for the public to contact the police. 

The interior of the cabin was a miniature police station for police officers to read and fill out reports, take meal breaks and even temporarily hold prisoners until the police car arrived. 

But now it's better known as the time travel box!"

O designer e modelista dinamarquês Benny Thaibert, do site Bitmedia, criou este modelo de papel da TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space), uma máquina do tempo e nave espacial em forma de cabine policial que aparece no cultuado seriado britânico de ficção científica Doctor Who. 

A respeito da elaboração deste modelo e e sobre a TARDIS, o Sr. Thaibert disse: - "Eu queria criar uma caixa de tardis “fácil de fazer”. E minimizar o uso de cola e recortes difíceis com estilete. 

Então, fiz isto: Um cubo retangular dobrável. Foram necessárias algumas tentativas e erros e então se tornou realidade. 

Quando algo parece pequeno por fora, mas é muito maior por dentro. Tem origem em uma cabine policial. 

Um quiosque telefônico para uso de membros da polícia ou para o público entrar em contato com a polícia. 

O interior do camarote era uma delegacia em miniatura para uso dos policiais para ler e preencher relatórios, fazer intervalos para refeições e até mesmo reter presos temporariamente até a chegada do transporte. 

Mas agora mais conhecida como caixa de viagem no tempo!"
