Today I saw that this papercraft of a workshop/garage, "Dirty Garage", originally published in May 2012, was in the blog's monthly Top Ten.
Obviously, after more than ten years, I no longer remembered this post and decided to visit the link.
The address led to Hobby Talk, a forum for "diecast collectors, modelers and enthusiasts of slotcars and radio control cars", but unfortunately this forum no longer exists.
Thanks to the Wayback Machine, I was able to access the forum, but the templates available there were in very low resolution.
I solved this problem by passing the templates through an online image editor that uses artificial intelligence called Fotor (fotor.com).
The result was quite reasonable considering the poor original resolution of the templates.
Then, as there were no images available of the finished model, I decided to assemble it in 3D, using Sketchup.
You can see the result in the images that illustrate this post. This papercraft is actually a really cool customization made based on the Berry-Lincoln Store, offered on the Build Your Own Main Street Models website, which unfortunately no longer exists.
This version, the "Dirty Garage" in HO scale (1/87 scale), was made by modeler Gomanvongo and is perfect for model railways, dioramas and wargames.
At the end of the post, in addition to the original link to the forum, I will also leave another link with the AI-enhanced version, where I combined the two templates into a single PDF file. Have fun.
Hoje eu vi que este papercraft de uma oficina/garagem, a "Dirty Garage", originalmente publicado em Maio de 2012, estava nos Top Ten mensais do blog.
Obviamente, depois de mais de dez anos, eu não me lembrava mais deste post e resolvi visitar o link.
O endereço levava ao Hobby Talk, um forum de "colecionadores diecast, modelistas e entusiástas de autorama e carros de controle remoto", mas infelizmente o forum não existe mais.
Graças ao Wayback Machine, eu consegui acessar o forum, mas os templates disponíveis lá estavam em baixíssima resolução.
Resolvi este problema passando os templates por um editor de imagens online que usa inteligência artificial chamado Fotor (fotor.com).
O resultado ficou bem razoável considerando a péssima resolução original dos templates. Depois, como não haviam imagens disponíveis do modelo terminado, resolvi montá-lo em 3D, usando o Sketchup.
O resultado vocês podem ver nas imagens que ilustram este post. Este papercraft é na verdade uma customização bem legal feita em cima da Berry-Lincoln Store, oferecida no site Build Your Own Main Street Models que infelizmente também não existe mais.
Esta versão, a "Dirty Garage" na escala HO (escala 1/87), foi feita pelo modelista Gomanvongo e é perfeita para maquetes ferroviárias, dioramas e wargames.
