The Real Thing
The Tucker Sno-Cat is a tracked vehicle or a family of tracked vehicles for snow conditions. Different models have been used for expeditions in the Arctic and the Antarctic during the second half of the 20th century. It differs from other truck-sized snow vehicles, commonly known as Snowcats, by its use of four independently mounted sets of tracks. A great model with a lot of history.

PhotobucketThe late E. M. Tucker, Sr. of Tucker Sno-Cat® Corporation, was one of 13 children, born in a log cabin on Jump-Off Joe Creek in 1892 near Grants Pass, Oregon. He spent his early boyhood near Trail, Oregon in a stone house built by his father in 1901. The house overlooks a broad stretch of Rogue River and is still a landmark on the Rogue.
During his youth he walked to school through deep snow, and even at this early age he began working on different devices for transportation over snow which eventually lead to the development of the world famed Tucker Sno-Cat® vehicle. In the early twenties Mr. Tucker built several spiral driven machines, but he had very little success with the principle involved. After these experiences, Mr. Tucker realized that unless he could come up with a completely different system, he would never achieve his desire to build a vehicle to travel over deep, soft snow with a minimum amount of mechanical trouble and expense. Mr. Tucker worked in Los Angeles on models, perfecting the idea of a over-snow transportation. He then moved to Grass Valley, California, where the first production line was established. This successful venture was terminated by a move to Medford, Oregon, determined by Mr. Tucker's long expressed desire to return to the Rogue River Valley. Mr Tucker spent 50 years in building and improving his snow machines, and his firm is recognized as the oldest successful manufacturer of snow vehicles in the world.

Artisitic Interpretation Of  Tyrannosaurus Rex
Tyrannosaurus, from Greek tyrannos meaning "tyrant," and sauros meaning "lizard" is a genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning "king" in Latin), commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is a fixture in popular culture. It lived throughout what is now western North America, with a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period, 67 to 65.5 million years ago. It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. Like other tyrannosaurids, Tyrannosaurus was a bipedal carnivore with a massive skull balanced by a long, heavy tail. Relative to the large and powerful hindlimbs, Tyrannosaurus forelimbs were small, though unusually powerful for their size, and bore two clawed digits. Although other theropods rivaled or exceeded Tyrannosaurus rex in size, it was the largest known tyrannosaurid and one of the largest known land predators, measuring up to 12.8 m (42 ft) in length,[2] up to 4 metres (13 ft) tall at the hips,[3] and up to 6.8 metric tons (7.5 short tons) in weight. By far the largest carnivore in its environment, Tyrannosaurus rex may have been an apex predator, preying upon hadrosaurs and ceratopsians, although some experts have suggested it was primarily a scavenger. The debate over Tyrannosaurus as apex predator or scavenger is among the longest running in paleontology. More than 30 specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex have been identified, some of which are nearly complete skeletons. Soft tissue and proteins have been reported in at least one of these specimens. The abundance of fossil material has allowed significant research into many aspects of its biology, including life history and biomechanics. The feeding habits, physiology and potential speed of Tyrannosaurus rex are a few subjects of debate. Its taxonomy is also controversial, with some scientists considering Tarbosaurus bataar from Asia to represent a second species of Tyrannosaurus and others maintaining Tarbosaurus as a separate genus. Several other genera of North American tyrannosaurids have also been synonymized with Tyrannosaurus. - Wikipedia

Skull At  Carnegie Museum Of  Natural history

Honda Motocompo Folding Scooter - by Yasu Tanaka

Photobucket

PhotobucketThe Honda Motocompo is a tiny folding scooter sold by Honda 1981-1983. The Motocompo was introduced as a "Trunk Bike" to fit inside subcompact cars like the Honda Today and the then new Honda City. The City's baggage compartment was actually developed around the Motocompo. The handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter's rectangular plastic body to present a clean, box-shaped package of 1185 mm L × 240 mm W x 540 mm H. Honda's initial monthly sales projection for the domestic market was 8,000 City and 10,000 Motocompo. The City surpassed its targets, but in all only 53,369 Motocompos were sold by the end of production in 1983 (no more than 3,000 per month). - Wikipedia

- Wikipedia

Dinosaur Papercraft - Bambiraptor - by Canon - Dinossauro De Papel

Artistic Interpretation  Of
A Bambiraptor
Bambiraptor is a Late Cretaceous, 75 million year old, bird-like dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur. A Bambiraptor skeleton was discovered in 1993 by 14-year-old fossil hunter Wes Linster, who was looking for dinosaur bones with his parents near Glacier National Park in Montana. Linster told Time Magazine that he uncovered the skeleton on a tall hill and was amazed at his discovery. "I bolted down the hill to get my mom because I knew I shouldn't be messing with it", he said. The bones that Linster discovered on that hilltop led to the excavation of a skeleton that was approximately 95 percent complete. Because of its completeness Florida Paleontology Institute Director Martin Shugar compared it to the 'Rosetta Stone' that enabled archaeologists to translate Egyptian hieroglyphics. Yale paleontologist John Ostrom, who reintroduced the theory of bird evolution from dinosaurs after his 1964 discovery of Deinonychus in Wyoming, agreed, calling the specimen a "jewel", and telling reporters that the completeness and undistorted qualities of the bones should help scientists further understand the dinosaur-bird link. - Wikipedia

Bambiraptor`s Fossil
- Wikipedia
