In London, a new Banksy work appeared on the walls of the Royal Courts of Justice, one of the city’s main courts.
The mural shows a judge in traditional robes and wig raising a gavel against a fallen protester holding a sign marked in red.
The image was confirmed by Banksy himself on his official account and, shortly after, the mural was fenced off and covered, since the building is a listed heritage site.
With no direct statement from the artist, the piece has opened the door to different interpretations. For some, it is a critique of the British government and its repression of freedom of expression in general; for others, it directly refers to the pro-Palestine protests.
Like many of Banksy’s works, this one also risks disappearing under the justification of preserving urban space, but it has already entered the list of his most discussed interventions.

Como tantas outras peças de Banksy, esta também corre o risco de desaparecer sob a justificativa de preservação do espaço urbano, mas já figura entre as intervenções mais comentadas do artista.
