A Little Papercraft Collection Of Japanese Buses For Kids - by Brother

Printer manufacturer Brother has several websites around the world with sections dedicated to papercraft.

There is the English site, the Australian site, the American site and the Japanese site, where you will find some exclusive models that are not available on Brother sites in other countries.

This interesting collection inspired by real buses from Japan is an example of these "regional" models.

At the time of writing this post, there are nine buses, two vans and even a steam locomotive, and if you keep scanning the site you will find many other models unique to Japan, such as the Kawasaki Prefectural Train Station, the Library of Tama, Ikuta Ryokuchi Fountain and Tokakuin Tsutsuji Temple.

There is a lot to see in its, so far, 26 pages of models. Since each page presents 16 models, we currently have 416 different papercrafts.

All models are very colorful and easy to assemble, suitable for capturing children's attention. A highly recommended website, in all its versions around the world.

  1. thank you Papermau, these are very nice papercraft models.

I am afraid the license is very restrictive :-(

    1. Hi Mokalux,

Thank you for your concern, but it seems to me that the terms refer to the templates themselves.

There is no law that prohibits you from posting a link to a public website, open to the general public.

Furthermore, it's free advertising, and what company doesn't want that.

Brother, as well as Canon, Epson, Yamaha and several other companies know that a great way to reach consumers is through promotions and free content.

That's why none of them to date have blocked or spoken out against the publication of links to their papercrafts.

The same does not apply to sites that take over templates and host them on personal pages, without giving credit or redirecting them to the actual owner site, thus trying to obtain some indirect profit, whether through downloads or even charging for it.

Some Canon designers follow me and are followed by me on social media and they have never complained about the blog posts, quite the opposite.

Still, thanks for worrying, Mokalux. You are a good friend.

    2. no, no, Papermau, you misunterstood me :-)
Your posting links to their website is fine and well appreciated, I was talking about using their papercrafts, it is very limited :-(

I understand that papercraft art is very niche, made by passionate artists. I was trying to expand on this craft to fit my specific needs.

All the best my friend ;-)

    3. I don't believe that using Brother's models in 3D versions breaks the rules.

I think that all these precautions that all sites that distribute original papercrafts have refer more to piracy, the sale of templates on various sales platforms around the world, such as Aliexpress, Alice Models and several others, generally Chinese and Russian.

Like I said, any free advertising is usually welcome and I don't think Brother would mind seeing their 3D models being released around the world.
