Dodge Charger "General Lee" - by Cemodelazil

Photobucket

The General Lee is the modified Dodge Charger driven by the Duke cousins Bo and Luke in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. It is known for the chases and stunts, especially high jumps, in almost every episode, and for having the doors welded shut, leaving the Dukes to climb in and out through the windows. The car appears in every episode but one ("Mary Kaye's Baby"). The car's name is a reference to the Confederate General Robert E. Lee, and indeed the vehicle embodies the Southern United States, bearing as it does a Confederate naval jack on its roof and a horn which plays the melody from the first line of the song "Dixie".
The idea for the GeneralDukes of Hazzard Lee was developed from the famous bootlegger Jerry Rushing's car, which was named for Lee's favorite horse, Traveller. Traveller was also the name of the car in Moonrunners, the 1975 movie precursor to The Dukes of Hazzard.

Hungarian Clock Tower - by Somodi Zoltan - Torre do Relógio Húngara

I am really happy and impressed to find this model, by Somodi Zoltam, a Hungarian designer. He makes really nice models in black and white, and looks like he does not use graphic programs to make it. The model of the photographs was assembled by him and looks like it was hand-colored.

Jolly Roger - The Pirate Flag
Piracy is a war-like act committed by non-state actors (private parties not affiliated with any government) against other parties at sea. The term applies especially to acts of robbery and/or criminal violence at sea. People who engage in these acts are called pirates. The term can include acts committed on land, in the air, or in other major bodies of water or on a shore. It does not normally include crimes committed against persons traveling on the same vessel as the perpetrator (e.g. one passenger stealing from others on the same vessel). The term has been used to refer to raids across land borders by non-state agents.
Piracy is the name of an offence under customary international law and also the name of a number of offences under the municipal law of a number of States.
Piracy should be distinguished from privateering, which was authorized by their national authorities and therefore a legitimate form of war-like activity by non-state actors. This form of commerce raiding was outlawed by the Peace of Westphalia (1648) for signatories to those treaties. Historically, offenders have usually been apprehended by military personnel and tried by military tribunals. - Wikipedia

A Pirate Ship Miniature

- Wikipedia

Apartment Building in Ostia, Rome - by Grundschul Material Online

Artistic Interpretation Of An
Apatment Building In Ostia...
The beautifully preserved ruins of Ostia lie twenty miles from Rome, in the meadows between the Tiber River and the Tyrrhenian Sea. It was founded, probably in the 4th century BC, as a military colony to guard the river mouth against seaborne invasions. Later, during the centuries when virtually all imports reached the Capital via the Tiber, Ostia gained prominence as the domestic landing for cargo boats. By the 2nd century AD, it had become a flourishing commercial center inhabited by upwards of 100,000 people, whose apartment buildings, taverns, and grocery shops are still intact. - initaly.com

This model represents a apartment building in Ostia. When excavated, the first floor still had running water.

...And How It Looks Like Today.
