Yellow Submarine is a 1968 animated musical fantasy film based on the music of The Beatles. It is also the title for the film's soundtrack album, released as part of The Beatles' music catalogue. The film was directed by animation producer George Dunning, and produced by United Artists (UA) and King Features Syndicate. The real Beatles participated only in the closing scene of the film, with the fictional counterparts of The Beatles voiced by other actors.

Yellow Submarine é o álbum trilha-sonora lançado pelos Beatles, que corresponde ao filme de mesmo título. Em contraste com a recepção do filme pela crítica, este é considerado o disco mais fraco dos Beatles e o único disco a não alcançar o 1° lugar nas paradas nos EUA e no Reino Unido (a melhor posição foi o 2° lugar, curiosamente com o "Álbum Branco", lançado 2 meses antes, em 1° lugar). É um álbum que destoa do resto da discografia da banda, já que somente as seis músicas do lado A são do grupo e apenas quatro delas são inéditas e ainda assim foram gravadas entre 1967 e 1968. - Wikipedia
