BioShock 2 - Bigs Sister Paper Model - by Destro2k - via DeviantArt

The designer Dominik Kempen, aka Desktro2k, created this perfect paper model version of the creep Big Sister from the first-person shooter video game BioShock 2.

He said: - "For all who followed me the last time, you can imagine how happy I am, that this gigantic project is finally done. Three months (pure building time) of work are over. It was hard, it was frustrating but all in one it was just worth. Seeing her standing on my desk is just a satisfaction for all the work i put in. Quite every edge was recolored to hide the white spots. I put so much soul into this project that I believe a bit more and this model would jump right from my desk."

On BioShock 2, the Big Sisters are Little Sisters from the original Bioshock (aged by 10 years), that traveled to the shores to kidnap little girls to re-populate the little sisters in Rapture. They are sent out by Sofia Lamb to keep balance in Rapture, and add extra protection for the Little Sisters. They are one of the main enemies in Bioshock 2 and can come in groups no larger than two, but most commonly one will appear to face you. They wield a long needle on their arm that is used for extracting ADAM. They are very quick and agile and a force to be reckoned with.

This is not a project for weekend modelers and to view and print this model you will need Pepakura Viewer Free Version (link at the end of this post).

O designer Dominik Kempen, também conhecido como Desktro2k, criou esta perfeita versão em papel da assustadora Big Sister do videogame de tiro em primeira pessoa BioShock 2.

Ele disse: - "Para todos os que me acompanham, vocês podem imaginar como estou feliz que esse gigantesco projeto está finalmente pronto. Três meses (tempo somente de montagem) acabaram. Foi difícil, foi frustrante, mas tudo valeu a pena, enfim. Vê-la em pé na minha mesa é satisfação suficiente por todo o trabalho que eu tive. Todas as bordas foram coloridas para esconder as partes brancas. Eu coloquei tanta alma nesse projeto que acredito que, um pouco mais e esse modelo pularia direto da minha mesa."

No videogame Bioshock 2, as Big Sisters são Little Sisters do Bioshock original (envelhecidas em 10 anos), que foram enviadas para sequestrar meninas para serem Little Sisters em Rapture. Elas foram enviadas por Sofia Lamb para manter o equilíbrio em Rapture e prover proteção extra para as Little Sisters. Elas são um dos principais inimigos de Bioshock 2 e podem vir em grupos de ao menos duas, mas geralmente uma deles aparecerá para você. Elas empunham uma longa agulha no braço que é usada para extrair o ADAM. Elas são muito rápidas e ágeis e uma força a ser considerada.

This paper model of an Ancient Greek House was created with textures taken from the videogame Assassins Creed Odyssey. As I walked through the game, I used the photo mode to record various house facades from one of the various islands in the game. This is a very simple model and I believe it can be used in epic themed wargames. Have fun!

These very original paper toys of Hudoq Dancers were created by Indonesian designer Julius Perdana, from Paper Replika website. Hudoq dance is a part of Dayak Modang and Dayak Bahau tribe rituals (East Borneo), it regulary performs after planting rice padi on September to October. Dayak people believe all their dance movement was came straigth from heaven. Dance itself is for honoring their ancestor spirits which they believe always gather around them in planting season. They believed their ancestor came from Asung Luhung or The Great Mother who decended from the sky in the upper course of Mahakam River, Apokayam. The Asung Luhung possesed god's power who can summon good and evil spirits. The good ones, Jeliang Tok Hudoq were sent by Asung Luhung to help human with their knowledge and share seeds for planting. Because of Hudoq frightening appearance they have been told to wear disguise as half man and half bird creature.

A dança do Hudoq faz parte dos rituais da tribo Dayak Modang e Dayak Bahau (Borneo Oriental), que se realiza depois do plantio do arroz entre setembro e outubro. O povo de Dayak acredita que todo o seu movimento de dança veio direto do céu. A dança em si é para homenagear seus espíritos ancestrais, que eles acreditam sempre se reunir em torno deles na época de plantio. Eles acreditam que seu ancestrais vieram de Asung Luhung ou da Grande Mãe, que desceu do céu no curso superior do rio Mahakam, Apokayam. O Asung Luhung possuía o poder de Deus que pode convocar espíritos bons e maus. Os bons espíritos Jeliang Tok Hudoq foram enviados por Asung Luhung para ajudar os humanos com seus conhecimentos e compartilhar sementes para o plantio. Por causa da aparência assustadora do Hudoq, eles foram instruídos a usar a fantasia metade homem e metade pássaro.
