Crazy Japanese Mascot - Mascote Japonês Maluco

This blog doesn`t make apologies, then I will not go into details on this paper model. I only say that it is a mascot of a japanese trading company. But the models are very, very, very funny and bizarre.

Tyrrell P34 Ford - 1976 - by Yasu Tanaka - Japan

An incredible paper model of Tyrrell P34 made by the great designer Yasu Tanaka.

Photobucket

The Tyrrell P34 (Project 34), otherwise known as the "six-wheeler", was a Formula One race car designed by Derek Gardner, Tyrrell's chief designer.
This famous car was the handiwork of Tyrrell's chief designer Derek Gardner. It's most striking feature of course was the use of four 10 in. wheels instead of the regular two. The front-end layout was intended to "... minimize induced drag by reducing lift at the front and to turn that gain into the ability to enter and leave corners faster". The use of four small disc brakes required a special triple master-cylinder system, each feeding the brakes on one of the three axles. This was necessary as adjustments were required to control locking at the four front wheels. If the two front wheels locked first, then the effective wheelbase of the car was shortened and if the second set of front wheels locked first this resulted in the effective wheelbase being lengthened. The size of the front tires put special stress on the cross-ply tires Goodyear supplied. Had radial-ply Michelin tires been available to the team the story might have been different. Unfortunately Goodyear's tire development program did not have the capacity to properly support the special 10 in. tires used by the P34.

The high point for what was known as Project 34 came at the Swedish Grand Prix in 1976 where Jody Scheckter came in first followed by his teammate Depailler in second. After two seasons and the departure of Derek Gardner the experiment was abandoned.

Sao Miguel Archangel Chapel - by Papermau - Capela De São Miguel

Built in 1550 and completely rebuilt in 1622, The Sao Miguel Arcanjo Chapel is the most ancient church of Sao Paulo and i one of the most ancient of Brazil.
Built by the jesuits and explorers (bandeirantes), with the help of the indians of the region, this church had the function of strategic point of defense.
This is more one next project and is almost done.

Japanese Monster Garamon - From ULTRAMAN Series

Ultraman (ウルトラマン Urutoraman?) is a character featured in tokusatsu (special effects) television programs in Japan. Ultraman, the first and best-known of the "Ultra-Crusaders," made his debut in the tokusatsu SF/kaiju/superhero TV series, Ultraman: A Special Effects Fantasy Series (ウルトラマン 空想特撮シリーズ Urutoraman: Kūsō Tokusatsu Shirīzu?), a follow-up to the television series Ultra Q. The show was produced by Tokyo Broadcasting System and Tsuburaya Productions, and was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) from July 17, 1966 to April 9, 1967, with a total of 39 episodes (40, counting the pre-premiere special that aired on July 10, 1966).
Goramon was one of the most charismatic monsters of the serie, maybe because of its enigmatic eyes.If i am not mistaken, Goramon wept when the Ultraman settled a radius in him.
