iMac G3 Vintage Computer Fan Art Paper Toy - by Netroids Paper Toys

This easy-to-build paper toy of an orange edition iMac G3 is offered by the Netroids Paper Toys website.

The iMac G3 is a desktop computer that was released by Apple in 1998, marking a significant milestone in the company's history and personal computing.

It was designed by Jonathan Ive and his team, and stood out for its colorful and innovative design at the time, with the CPU and monitor integrated into a single unit. It was produced until 2003.

The iMac G3 was internally known by Apple as "MacMan" during its development. This name was a tribute to Nintendo's portable gaming device, the Game Boy, which was also referred to as "MacMan" by its engineers.

The design and marketing approach of the iMac G3 were heavily influenced by Steve Jobs, who had returned to Apple as CEO. He insisted on bold design and the removal of expansion ports, focusing on simplicity and user experience.

Few know that the iMac G3 originally included an infrared port on the front of the computer. This port was intended to enable wireless communication with peripheral devices such as keyboards and mice, but was eventually removed in later versions due to performance and cost issues.

Fallout - Broken Computer Console Paper Model - by Papermau
Download Now!

I created this papercraft of a broken computer console using textures taken from the videogame Fallout. I believe it will be useful for people into Sci-Fi wargames and RPGs.

If you do a quick search on Google or Pinterest, you will find many interesting textures from this videogame.

I tried to play this game a while ago, episode 4, but there is so much to do in the game, so much information, that I kind of gave up. Maybe I'll try again sometime in the future.

Fallout is an open-world role-playing video game series set in an alternate world where the culture of the 1950s United States of America has been combined with a dystopian vision of the future following a nuclear war.

The series so far has six games that narrate different periods of the same story, the first (Fallout) was released in 1997 and the last (Fallout 76) in 2018. Developed by Interplay Entertainment and later by Bethesda Game Studios, the game takes place in an alternative world where a nuclear war has devastated the Earth.

Players take on the role of survivors who explore the wreckage of civilization, interact with other survivors and factions, undertake missions, and fight mutated creatures and hostile adversaries.

The series is known for its rich storytelling, impactful moral choices, and a vast, detailed world to explore. Throughout the games, players can customize their characters, developing skills and acquiring equipment to face the challenges of the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout.

Fallout has a dedicated fan base around the world who are often called "Vault Dwellers", referencing the characters who live in the Vaults, the underground shelters that serve as a safe haven against the dangers of the game's post-apocalyptic world. This term is an affectionate way of identifying with the game's universe.

If you liked this papercraft and want to build your own broken computer console from the eFallout universe, the download is easy and safe, directly from Google Drive.

The Ephemeral Museum - Batcave Playset Diorama Paper Model
Assembled by Bill Thompson

A few days ago I published (or rather, republished, as the original link had expired) here on the blog a diorama/playset of the Batcave, the version that appeared in the 1966 Batman television series, created by British designer Philip Lawrence, from Action Figure Theater website.

I received some emails saying that instructions or assembly tips would be welcome, as the parts are not numbered and there is no type of guidance other than a 3D image.

Well, I found this model of the Batcave put together by an American modeler called Bill Thompson and as you can see, he did an incredible job, didn't he?

From this photo I believe that friends interested in assembling their own Batcave will have fewer difficulties, as it is very clear where the various pieces designed by Mr. Lawrence go. The link to download the Batcave will be below, at the end of this post.

Now, about Bill, who assembled the Batcave in the photo, he is not just a model maker. Bill is, in his own words, a "computer professional, motorcycle enthusiast, website designer, amateur magician and mad scientist."

He has a really nice website called Weird Fantastic Toys Adventures (print screen below), which, also in his words, "is a diary chronicling the adventures of my toys and anything else that might be on my mind. If you love toys, cartoons, comics, movies, TV shows, pop culture, and Gen X nostalgia from the '70s and '80s, then this is the place for you!"

Bill's website is well worth a visit. You will even find some exclusive papercrafts created by him there. The link is also below.

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents

I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like.

With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation.

Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years.

I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

mautherous@gmail.com

All who submit their work will be published, without exceptions.

A New Garage For Miniature Vehicles In 1/64 Scale - by Papermau
A Work In Progress

Here's something I'm currently working on, a new garage for 1/64 scale miniatures.

The textures were "taken" from the GTA V videogame, more precisely the Playstation 4 version.

It would be easier to get textures from the PC version of this game, but the truth is that my computer is so old that it would barely run any game released after 2012.

The textures are not from a specific garage, but a collection of several buildings from the game that were combined to create something new.

In any case, the resolution is acceptable, especially since they will be used on a reduced scale, 1/64, so everything is ok.

Now I will search for building signs within the GTA Online universe to use in this garage/workshop.

Today just a few images. As I make progress on this model, I will post it here on the blog.

Hoje apenas algumas imagens. Conforme eu for fazendo progressos neste modelo, eu irei postando aqui no blog.

The Ephemeral Museum - Zig Zag Records Paper Model
Assembled by Stefan Halushka

My friend modeler Stefan Halushka from the USA built the Zig Zag Records papercraft and kindly sent me some photos of his work.

As you can see, he customized the model, which was just a vignette, a facade, and whimsically created an entirely new building.

On one side he made the facade of Zig Zag Records and on the other he made a facade of a small computer store, the Computers Sales & Services, or CSS, in the style of the 1990s.

In addition, Stefan even created a mezzanine in the top of the small building, with tables, chairs and plants, a very pleasant place for Zig Zag and CSS regulars to have a coffee or a juice while chatting about Ozzy's new album or whether the next iPhone will have 3D holograms video calls.

"Thank you very much, Stefan, for the photos and for your kindness in sharing them. A big hug from Brazil to the USA." - Mauther

If you liked Zig Zag Records and want to set up your own miniature record store, the link to download the templates is below, at the end of this post.
