The Hungarian Hostel Paper Model - by Somodi Zoltan

This is the Hungarian Hostel paper model, created by designer and modeler Somodi Zoltan. It is not an easy-to-build model, but is not so complex. The parts fit perfectly and the instructions are very detailed with pictures. You can choose between a color version or a black and white version. I think Mr. Zoltan went a step further in his technique, already so original and unique. Thanks, Somodi Zoltan! Greetings from Brazil to Hungary!

Este é o modelo de papel de uma Hospedaria Húngara, criado pelo designer e modelista Somodi Zoltan. Apesar de não ser um dos modelos mais fáceis de montar de Zoltan, ao mesmo tempo não pode ser considerado um modelo complexo. As partes se encaixam perfeitamente e as instruções são bem detalhadas com fotos. Você pode escolher entre o modelo colorido e uma versão em preto e branco. Creio que com este modelo, o Sr. Zoltan deu um passo além em sua técnica, já tão particular e original. Obrigado, Somodi Zoltan! Saudações do Brasil à Hungria!

Class 923 "Doctor Yellow" Japanese Train Detailed Paper Model by Masaru Uchimura & Papercraft Maker

This is the second version of the Class 923 "Doctor Yellow" Japanese Train, created by Japanese designers Masaru Uchimura and Papercraft Maker, commissioned by Canon website. This version occupies 16 printed sheets, while the much smaller and simpler miniature version (already posted here on the blog, link at the end of the post) occupies only two sheets of paper. - Thanks to my friend Jo Kizinger for this nice find!

Esta é a segunda versão do Trem Japonês "Doctor Yellow" Classe 923, criado pelos designers japoneses Masaru Uchimura e Papercraft Maker, comissionados pelo site da Canon. Esta versão ocupa 16 folhas impressas, enquanto a versão em miniatura, bem menor e mais simples (já postada aqui no blog, link no final da postagem) ocupa apenas duas folhas de papel. - Agradecimentos ao meu amigo Jo Kizinger por este achado bem legal!

About Toys In The Attic by Papermau:

Toys in the Attic is the third album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in April 1975. Is also a name of a 1963`s drama movie with Dean Martin and Geraldine Page. Now, because this is a really nice name, this will be the name of a new session of Papermau`s blog. In this session I will share old original and exclusive paper models posted more than a year here in the blog. It's a way of not letting these models get lost among over 7.000 posts in the four years of the blog.


Toys in the Attic (Brinquedos no Sotão) é o nome do terceiro album da banda norte-americana de rock Aerosmith, lançado em 1975. É também o nome de um drama para o cinema de 1963 chamado aqui no Brasil de Na Voragem das Paixões, que contava no elenco com Dean Martin (o parceiro do Rat Pack e de Jerry Lewis) e Geraldine Page. Agora, porque eu acho esse um título muito legal, Toys in the Attic será o nome de uma nova sessão do blog Papermau. Nesta sessão eu publicarei antigos modelos de papel originais e exclusivos postados há um ano ou mais. Esta é a maneira que encontrei para que estes modelos não fiquem perdidos e esquecidos entre mais de 7.000 postagens feitas em quatro anos de existência do blog.

Eletric Train E233 Series 7000 Series Paper Model - by KMR-Express

Created by Japanese designer and modeler KMR-Express, here is a detailed miniature paper model of the E233 Series, a commuter and suburban electric multiple unit train type developed by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) from the earlier E231 series and the E531 series design. The first train was introduced in December 2006. The E233 7000 series run on the Kawagoe Line, Saikyo Line and Rinkai Line, in Japan.

Criado pelo designer e modelista japonês KMR-Express, eis aqui um modelo de papel em miniatura detalhado do E233 Series, um tipo de trem elétrico múltiplo desenvolvido pela East Japan Railway Company (JR East) baseado na série anterior E231 e da série E531. O primeiro trem foi lançado em dezembro de 2006. O E233 Series 7000 serve na Linha Kawagoe, Linha Saikyo e Linha Rinkai, no Japão.

Rocky Bergen is a Canadian industrial designer and creator of this very well done miniature paper model of the IBM 5100 Portable Computer, a "portable" personal computer (weighing "only" 15 kg) developed by IBM following the success of the "portable" Compaq Portable. It was released in February 1981, and eventually replaced by the IBM Convertible.

The Real Thing - Mont Louis Museum - France

Le Puit des Forçats was a recovery system of potable water dating from the seventeenth century, created by French architect and engineer Vauban. Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, Seigneur de Vauban and later Marquis de Vauban (15 May 1633 – 30 March 1707), commonly referred to as Vauban, was a Marshal of France and the foremost military engineer of his age, famed for his skill in both designing fortifications and breaking through them. He also advised Louis XIV on how to consolidate France's borders, to make them more defensible. Vauban made a radical suggestion of giving up some land that was indefensible to allow for a stronger, less porous border with France's neighbours. This paper model gives us an idea of how it was this ingenious invention.

Le puit des Forcats er um sistema de recuperação de água potável que data do século XVII, criado pelo engenheiro e arquiteto francês Vauban. Sébastien Le Prestre, Marquês de Vauban (1633 - 1707), também conhecido por Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, foi um arquitecto militar francês, introdutor do chamado estilo Vauban de fortificação. Diz-se que deu à França uma impenetrável cintura de aço. Foi nomeado Marechal de França por Luís XIV. Este modelo de papel nos dá uma idéia de como era este engenhoso invento.

About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:
